  1. Does anybody have the numbers of times he has been tested? Wasn't Lance tested something like 500 times? Thet can test you as many times as they want - if you are on **** that they don't even know about. The drugs are way ahead of the tests - 'nuff said.
  2. They look like clown bikes so I don't care if they are faster. +100
  3. I bought a new Specialised....noticed a loud squeak from the front wheel which I initially thought was the brake until I took the hub apart and found that there were 9 bearings on one side and 10 on the other. Luckily not too much damage before I found the problem. I can attest to that - noisiest ride ever!!! How are you Trav?
  4. I couldn't hear what he was saying 'cause of my cough. I had great expectorations. Very good - a Twist in the tale??
  5. Absolute shocker. R.I.P. Graham.
  6. We used to use them in the pursuit on the track - definitely works, but that is for a 100% effort over a limited period where maximum O2 uptake is required. Can't see the point for footballers and cricketers though.
  7. Also not too far from Edenvale there's Finishline also very good as is Cyclelab in K90. Agree - Finish Line are great!
  8. Bngs a whole new meaning to the term "racking snake"
  9. If it shows up on the test you are guilty regardless of where it came from. As a professional sports man you need to be sure of what you eat/drink etc. If it was there, he must have benefitted from it unfairly. That is why it is illegal...(IMHO) 100% - Cycling is his profession, it is his responsibility to know the limits of what can and can't be used - and to be more careful about shopping at the Dr Ferrari butchery.
  10. We had a hurricane blowing in the east this morning - didn't see as many riders out as usual. Maybe we were the idiots!
  11. It's not just the cost of the carbon. There is currently a world-wide shortage of epoxy resin, which is the resin used in bike manufacture. Suppliers are hiking prices across the board.
  12. Agree 1000%
  13. Don't expect anything in a hurry. I was knocked off my bike over five years ago and the civil case and RAF matter is still ongoing!
  14. I agree - having Wickus as his coach (and Dad), he can only excell. I have raced with Wickus for many years and have the greatest respect fo him and Bernard can only grow from here, I wish him all the best.
  15. My 10 c worth - I was in Switzerland with the S.A. National disabled squad as a tandem pilot. We were out on a training ride when I commented to my (blind) stoker - there is oncoming. but no following traffic. To which he replied - "there are cars behind us, I can hear them" I looked around and saw a line of at least 15 cars waiting paintiently to go past. No hooting or aggression, and we weren't any where near the middle of the road (being from S.A.) - What a pleasure, when the road opened up I gave the opened handed salute for thanks and many said that a response was not needed. This is what we need in S.A. respect for all on the roads
  16. To anyone who has competed in or attended World Masters Track Championships over the last 12 years - you will be familiar with Brian. Sad news indeed. http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/MultimediaFiles/20080305_BRIAN_COSSAVELLA_200.JPG Steve Walton sent us this touching account of the funeral of Prolific race organiser Brian Cossavella: Brian died suddenly over the weekend of 1-2 March at his home in Yarm, near Stockton on Tees. He had recently celebrated his 54th birthday and was due to organise the European Master Track Championships later in the year. Brian was a hugely popular character in the sport and was involved in cycling in a number of roles. He is perhaps best known in recent years for his long-running and highly successful World Track Masters Championships, run at Manchester Velodrome. We've received many tributes to a man who was recognised as a great character and force for good in the sport. Thank you to everyone who has been in touch. If you have a tribute or memory of Brian that you would like to add, please send it to pressoffice@britishcycling.org.uk Everyone at British Cycling passes on their condolences to Brian's many friends. He will be sadly missed.

  19. Looks like Robertson to me - guessing.
  20. Love the change of title. Thanks Simon
  21. Probably..............................we're all good at something - no matter how inconsequential.
  22. Nah. I only know track stuff! (And even then it's limited) I'd guess it's somewhere in the Western Cape - don't have a clue where.
  23. Just "bumping" this one so a wider audience will realise who the "smartest dude ever" is. Case rested.
  24. Stephen Roche in 1987. He did the triple that year - Giro, Tour and world champs.....impressive stuff! What's my prize this time?!
