    Shoes!

I have the Holzfeller pedals, with those thin pins, also killer grip and perfect for taking flesh samples.

    Shoes!

Will make a plan to go check it out this holiday, because im not a fan of the puffy shoes, and the canvas dont give enough support. What do you guys look for in a shoe? I usually want a sole that is as rigid as possilble, with good grip. That honeycome pattern at the bottom of the vmx, is my favourite by far.

    Shoes!

Glad I found this thread, Im looking for shoes I used to ride with. Vans VMX, the old school close fitting type. Nothing grips or supports like those shoes. If anyone spots a pair of them in Cape Town, or good deal on the interwebs let me know. Prefrebly the black ones.
  8. You'll be fit... I'm suffering to get back into decent freeride shape. Not only will you get fit, you'll actually exercise your back, shoulders, forearms, hands, stomach and what not. Its not as easy as just pointing a bike downhill.
  9. I'd also go for buy, at the price some of the second hand bikes are going for, you can pick up a decent bike for next to nothing, in a very good condition.
  10. My new old bike(bought second hand). for Urban/trials/trail riding. nice bits: - saint cranks - Spike spank rims - nukeproof generator rear hub - truvativ holzfeller end bits - shock, manitou.. sherman I think. (been out of biking a while)
  11. I'd rather go for something like this, open behind the knee, if you have to pedal a bit. Those closed pads gets really hot. I dont know what pedals you use, but for me, shins is a must, for those platform screws. PS. I prefer not to wear pads, just to uncomfortable and i'll take my chances.
  12. Hey , new here Got back into riding again after a 6 year absence and an extra 20kg of good living. See alot has changed since I was riding back in 2000. Alot of once new gear, remember we used to hollow out BMX stems to make our imported oversize handlebars fit on bikes. Any case, enough of that. Been on the bike now for a week, and struggling to get decent height out of bunny hops and forearms really get numb after a session, maybe its just the age. Any one started riding after a long break, what helps? At the moment I just do alot of bunnyhops etc to get rythm and arms stronger. (I mostly ride trails and urban mix with some trials) Usually took me a week after injury or new bike to get up to scratch again, feels like forever now.
