  1. Also got a SRAM cassette on Shimano drivetrain. PG970 cassette with Shimano XT. works fine, actually is lasting quite a while now already...
  2. whoops, got the qoute thing wrong
  3. If the goal is FR/AM type riding, then the Teocali for sure. BUT, for a beginner a hardtail may be better to learn on. If you can do the technical stuff on a hardtail properly first, you'll be much better off. Second that! Nothing improves skills like hardtails
  4. they keep counting until the right party wins!
  5. schweet, going next year again then. they had a short mention about it on supercycling on tuesday and some interviews with minnaar, hill and gee atherton.
  6. I saw, when visiting the factory in Jan, a prototype sort of bike there, and it was'nt a single pivot... Anyone got some light on that, or is it the 100mm marathon bike that has been spoken of? Was great to see the factory and the processes and stuff. Now I know where my steed comes from!
  7. I'd def buy a morewood all mountain type hardtail (not the jump hardtail they have) , something like the santa cruz chameleon.
  8. how big a brigde are we talking about? why not build a jump in front of the bridge and clear the whole thing (obstacle) like they did on the dh course at worlds in pmb. then again, not sure what the bridge/river crossing looks like. But agreed, ride the trail as is
  9. Rode that course in the unfinished state earlier this year. It's got some big stuff. I've got tickets, were set to leave tomorrow, but can't go anymore because of time running out for my final year project. It really sucks bigtime. Ma nou ja ne, wat kan mens doen... Sal maar fotos en videos kyk by die ouens as hulle terugkom
  10. Oh and remember to turn right after you crossed the eersterivier (at the hangbrug), you then go through a gate, over some private property, then the climb starts that'll take you to coetzenburg. At Top of this climb go left up the mountain path again. (through another gate) Rather take some time to explore the first time
  11. Just as you go pass Lanzerac you get a left turnoff, there used to be a traffic circle. Take the left and carry on with that road. Goes over one stop street, then 1 or 2 speed humps, then a turn to left, onto gravel, your'e there!
  12. Eden won't give you much distance, but very nice singletracks and downhill lines. That's paradyskloof road turnoff from the R44 towards Strand. Just follow the road untill you are in front of the forest. Then you can ride Bothmaskop, long steep climb, nice downhill. Coetzenburg is nice to do, but not for distance, but for fun! You can climb from Coetzenburg all the way over to eden (paradyskloof) then ride your heart out there on all the singletracks and climb back towards Coetzenburg again. You can link these up with you jonkers ride, returning from jonkershoek, go over the hangbrug, over coetzenburg, climb over to eden and back. Endless possibilities!!!
  13. That's a beaut! Hope you have a lifetime of care free flying...riding...
  14. go green/lime, check the santa cruz bullit (one of my mates got one) in green powdercoat if you want something standing out. If I came to the point to respray my morewood one day, i'll go camouflage!
  15. Sold a frame to Mario2 , smooth sailing.
  16. Nope, can't be good for the trails. Seen it burn yesterday and last night, but did'nt know it's that bad! damn
  17. Swearing at people is wrong, but you can't go and hit the person, in this case a lady... it's not right in any way you look at it
  18. Don't know if this has been posted yet, but here goes. As soon as the vehicle is left with only 3 wheels, with the end not having a wheel anymore scratches on the ground, it will slow down. Thus, the effect really is that the vehicle slows down and the wheel continues to travel at the same speed. The energy arguments is not incorrect, just bear in mind that the car slows down, not having 4 wheels anymore and getting a lot more friction from the tar on the axle without a wheel. someting like that...
  19. Got to try it without cable ties, didnt know it can work. was wondering how you get the finishing end "tucked in". wow, guess you learn something new everyday.
