  1. Shova ST 150mm On One 456 Summer Season (SS), 130mm fork at the moment, although it is actually rigid due to the fork being completely stuffed.
  2. hahahaha. Nomad Carbon then? Btw, where do you recommend buying SC frames?
  3. Yarp, I understand. Cash burning holes in pockets can be a dilemma Which side are you leaning towards? You going alu or carbon? Saw the Butcher just now, looking really good. Making my choices (should I want to change) even more difficult. Good luck! Not an easy decision
  4. If I had the cash to make a change... I would like to ride and own a Nomad. I've always been a fan of the Heckler (Do they still make this frame?). Ibis HD certainly looks the part! Otherwise a late model Mbuzi will also do the trick. See, already too many options, although they're not necessarily new models, I'd still like to own them. Can't make up me mind now
  5. Can anybody help me please. I need a service kit for a 2007 Marzocchi XC 700 Retro SL. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. Ok I'll rephrase to say "probably" never... Or, who said we can't have both?
  7. Sounds promising! Although I think I'll never part ways with my Shova ST.
  8. Gonna try it anyway. Can always change it later. It's more of an experiment for now. All parts not used are spares for my other bike anyway. OR, I must just htfu and stay single speed.
  9. Also busy getting things ready, but for a 1x9 setup. Got a medium cage rear der, 32T up front and an 11-34 cassette. Going to try this at first and see how it goes. (The single speed setup is killing me at the moment ) Don't know if you need a chain guide, guess I'll find out soon enough...
  10. Where's the option for: "Keep your Morewood Shova" ?????
  11. Another thing. When I bought my Shova, I also used the parts from my hardtail. Having had a Reba (100mm) on there, I needed to buy a new fork. Got a Marz 130mm model. It did the trick, but found it to come up short on several occasions. Earlier this year got a Revelation 150mm. Never looking back again! It was however necessary to adjust the rear suspension a bit to balance out with the new front. A longer travel fork will sort out your problems. A wider bar might also help.
  12. Agreed. Also running a wide bar (710mm) with a short (50mm) stem. Not twitchy at all. Sharp, yes.
  13. Baggies and T-shirts are all you need.
  14. On One 456 Summer Season.
  15. Same here, can't see anything.
  16. Great bikeshop. Only had good service from them.
  17. I've got a Holdfast clip-on type bike rack which I also use on a polo hatchback. I put old socks over the clips before attaching it to the car. No paint damage whatsoever. It might be a strap-on though, but ja, still use the socks on the metal clips/hooks whatever you want to to call it.
  18. Enjoy the build!
  19. on the Shova: 710mm Funn Full-on (black), 50mm stem on the 456: 710mm Funn Full-on (white), 50mm stem. Guess I kinda like that setup.
  20. Agree on the stem and bars. Running a 710mm bar (Funn Full-on) and 50mm stem. works perfect! Is that the frame that was on gumtree? As for headsets, I've got a normal BBB headset and it has not given me any problems yet (almost 3 years). Regular servicing works wonders.
  21. I've got the 2008 shova st in ivory type of whitish colour. almost three years old now and showing some battlescars. will go for the metallic blue methinks when it comes to respray, or red, or green, or I don't know. goodluck and have fun!
  22. Get a shova. Best choice I ever made.
  23. That's the spirit!! Congrats, happy trails!!
  24. I've got a 150mm Revelation with 20mm thru axle on my Shova ST. It's the Team model 120-150 U-turn. Always running it at 150mm though. Awesome fork, such a HUGE upgrade from the marzocchi I had. Slackens the head angle a little bit, but I'm all for that. Three words Hairy: "Go for it!!!!"
  25. Yip, crc. Dunno about the DT rims...due to having no experience with them. You can always read reviews on www.mtbr.com regarding any part/bike/wheel etc. Can anyone else here help?
