  1. Thnaks brakkies, you offered your water to me as well.. Luckily i had enough left.. Would definitely also recommend another water point just after the long walk
  2. Thanks Dale, ice and rest hope for the best!
  3. Yup, brilliant race as per normal A group, thanks for ride, sorry had to bail .. knee packed up again. 37.5km/h average over first 75km, 15km/h average over last 25km :-) At least now i'm true 99er, walked visershok for the first time!!
  4. Nope, but I rather redo a race than lie in hospital bed. For me its always safety first, there always another day for a race.
  5. Someone actually drove into person next to me on the Durbi Dash .. Doctor nogals. Luckily no harm done.
  6. Why did they just not stop the race/rider until road was safe again ?
  7. Tons parking, but can be up to 10 min walk depending where you get spot
  8. You have to do it at least once .. I did last year.. its amazing to watch the backmarkers on there pick and pay specials having picnics next to the road.. I
  9. Money not real the issue, its the wifey that have to wait another 4-5hrs with nothing todo. (I don't drive a car when i'm tired)
  10. me 2 ... should I or should I not
  11. Longer races people have to stop, so you discuss it in the group where you going to stop. I always rather stop if I see i'm going to run out of water.. the 1 minute it takes to get water is lot less time lost than the 20 minutes cramping at the end. You also normally catch a few straglers and can make new group.
  12. banana every hour, also bottle of water per hour , preferably with some mild energy (game/energade) in it. So if you aiming for 4 hours, you will need to stop at least once at waterstation to fill up your 2 bottles. After vissershok and finish you will cramp, you will never want todo it again. .. this is normal. (well, for me)
  13. Apperently lates don't get seeded Do a good deed and start at back get some wheel suckers and improve there seeding for 2018 CTCT
  14. Mid race cut-off Time: 11h00 Mid race cut off Location: Adderley Rd (M58) & Philadelphia Rd (R304) T-junction Race cut-off Time: 13h00 Potholes on Van Schoorsdrift Road will be suitably repaired for cycling conditions.Road closure on Vissershok Road (M48) has officially been applied for.
  15. +1 you think its over after visserswalk then this . . .
  16. 1f you will need todo at least 3:10 first round to get back in time (if you get the invite of course) I was 1G (6:31) start, did 3:10 and made it with about 10 minutes spare.
  17. intereesting, start groups ends this time at 7c, last year I did 8E Wonder if less entries, or bigger groups.
  18. Start groups on racetec for those interested
  19. This was my first 24 oak, and first long solo The bumpy track killed me at the end, blew my knee on the 13 th lap (i'm roady, not used to standing so long) , went to rest it for 3 hrs in the freezing cold, tried one more lap and could not even stand on paddles .. So managed 14 laps, was still feeling strong after sorting out food/drink routine so bit of let down. Bring on 36one!. Thanks to wifey for support, think she suffered more than me!
  20. Strava shows 180m climbing on old route .. so who really knows. https://www.strava.com/segments/939742
  21. Did you come right? otherwise drop me PM with details
  22. Ja .. as per pm .. exactly what happening .. The Problem is, had to build in massive amount of checks and balances to reduce the admin nightmare on race day and get the results to be real time. As soon as your order is confirmed, you will be able to invite ..
