  1. Me likey. Did a similar one earlier this year that had to be in parts ... what a headache.
  2. Imbuia And yes, around R750 per chair, less from a secondhand shop (they don't move a lot of expensive furniture and will pay ~30% of market price)
  3. That should be butterflied already. Put it skin side down on an oven plate/cookie sheet, melt some butter in the mike, add jam (and garlic if you like) and baste it. About 20 minutes at 180 should do it - baste again at 15 minute mark and check for doneness. Snoek tends to be dry, especially if overcooked, but is also not great undercooked (like tuna likes to be done)
  4. Been off the map for ten days or so, had to get out, clear my head and try and find direction again. I'm still doing some IT support/programming a couple of days a week but it's really taking it's toll now - can barely keep up with two full time jobs but ends aren't being met. Still haven't figured out the wheretos and the whyfors, but did manage to put the wife and kids into some sushi last week Their first (but certainly not last) Yellowfin tunas. Also took in some sardine action And managed to get some sushi myself Been back for two days and have been running after quotes that need to go out, machines that broke down whilst I was away, suppliers that didn't supply last week (or supplied the wrong stuff) Will hopefully get to making sawdust again tomorrow morning.
  5. Hi Neil, where are you based? ping me at chief@treeware.co.za and we can discuss.
  6. There's some pieces missing for sure, and the joints have been broken (they are all made with dowels, the bottom ones reinforced with screws that had caps on) There was also a rubber 1/4 round beading that ran over the corners of the rubber lining - not sure where that has gone, can't see it in any pics. I'm not going to discuss this here any further - the pics are not close to my standards of workmanship and is most definitely not the product I shipped - therefore my offer of a full refund. I've also offered a full refund after the item went missing during shipping. Sorry once again for the misfortune Patchelicious, my offer to refund stands.
  7. ******* couriers. Patch, please send me your banking details so that I can give you a refund.
  8. Found the package and re-sent it. Now waiting with bated breath for the next buggerup
  9. Lol, it was taken in Jest as well. And no, I'm a drinker not a fighter. Still waiting for the finished rocket pics!
  10. Days of our lives indeed. Had the shelf finished and ready for pick-up/courier on the 6th already, but due to circumstances (and bumblefuckery by my workshop guys when Patch swung past on the 14th) it never got to him. I did an overnight Aramex dropship to him on Monday, which now seem to have gone AWOL. I'm on it, even though it doesn't always seem like it. I'll find the package and get it to Patch. I've also offered a full refund which he has refused, but I will make it up in some other way then. This thing is starting to give me nightmares
  11. Sorry for the suspense - arranged for delivery after my workshop guys buggered off early last week (I was at a client's place at the time) It's a lekker piece of Rhodesian Teak that ... can't wait for the client pics
  12. Injected each lamb with ~1 litre of me and my dad's 'stolen' marinade recipe. We've used it in well over 50 lambs so far, and always get great comments about it. Mad butcher in action.
  13. Was feeling a little peckish so did this (on the 18th) Was supposed to have help, but none of them pitched so I called a mate to come and help carve around 16:00. Took us just over 90 minutes to carve all three - sharp knives only, as it should be. Fed 198 people comfortably.
  14. Geez Louise ... no pressure hey ... lol, thanks for the votes of confidence guys. I must admit that the idea inspired me ... busy cutting some sliding dovetails, already re-tested the coving jig out (been lying in the dust for a couple of years)
  15. Already working on it ... but got a ton of other little things going on as well. Should have it done late next week
  16. Will send your quotes through early tomorrow. Pls ping me an email address
  17. Just throwing this out there
  18. Thanks. Shoot me a mail at chief@treeware.co.za if you're interested in a quote
  19. Also use the Aramex shop to door bags a lot. Probably sent 100+ parcels this year, only ones that were late/had issues were the ones that were outlying - ie farms.
  20. Downloaded the demo of Tom Clancy's "The Division" over the weekend - it's looking pretty good, but not sure there's much of a storyline there yet. The demo is the full game but limited to 6 hours playtime.

Yup. Rob de Vlieg can make me a new sail fro R2800 - much better than R4K. I'm doing a bit of a refit at the same time, replacing most cleats, all pulleys, all stays and cables. Hulls are very solid, just need a lick of paint. Mast is ding-free, has a new trampoline on, some new ropes and bits and bobs. Probably going to spend the boat's price on upgrades/fixes, but then she'll be sweet again.

Oh yeah, also looking for some fun places to sail the Halcat. Only know of Bronkies and Vaaldam - anywhere else I can go? I spoke to the Pretoria Yacht Club and thought the woman was going to vomit at me mentioning a Halcat on Rietvlei So that's a no go.

The problem is that there's some form of bastard jib on the Halcat - it's most assuredly not it's original. It's in relatively good nick but I reckon it's around 80% of full size. Fits like g-string on a fat guy
