  1. got my Ant+ Pro Beam a few days ago. have not use it as yet. but again as everyone else said. ease of use not being tied down to software not needing a mega pc and the awesome back from Dave and company ( been dealing with them for over 5years and just great ) i would like to get more info on the Virtual Trainer from a users point ( maybe one of you hubbers can assist)
  2. or see the light
  3. wheel choice is like saddle choice , very personal. you would first look at your budget and then make a decision as per Dale below. you will have to do some research on the wheels . the look of a certain wheel can also do wonders to the way a bike looks overall and this will make you feel good without having to ride that wow factor. and no you not restricted to Italian branded wheels ( although one of the best )and yes 2nd hand is also ok from good a guy/gal good luck
  4. too small. i ride a 54 in this frame and my height i am 169 tall with a 110 stem
  5. does the garmin800 also control resistance? read somewhere it doesn't. any comments?
  6. What software are you using. Any thoughts on the cycleops virtual reality software. A concern I have is the data usage.(3G is virtually non existing at home so adsl line would thus be my only option -additional costs for me)
  7. decision must be made between the two. any hubbers have experience with either and why the move from one to the other. pros and cons of each will be appreciated. NB. from a users experience not sales pitch
  8. perhaps someone here can comment. i need to make a decision. have anyone had experienced between the power beam and the tacx trainer. pro and cons of the two.
  9. and i was really thinking of the tacx trainer vs the power beam - with all this hoo haaa it is really a pain and bother
  10. the set on the hub for 24k is worth it...( no ergos though.)
  11. with a setup like this i will only be riding indoors
  12. the Tacx Trainer range is very software dependent. you need a very high specced pc to use it. the PowerBeam not so.
  13. i had pneumonia , about this time of the year as well it takes a while before your lung capacity gets back to normal. you will be out of breathe very quickly and become very frustrated. with winter approaching, i would suggest the trainer and not out doors. And TAKE IT EASY.......
  14. If it is so not about the bike / equipment, why then are we spending on SR EPS ,Di2 or XX1, Trek, Pina ,Colnago etc, etc, Why not use the $$$$ and have the fat removed and make us lighter, or spend the $$$$ with Doctor Ferrari to makes us faster . its a lot got to do with the bike / equipment. just ask the guys who had to pay premium for repairs the last few days.
  15. go Big or go Home . even if you having to pay in a bit ,go for the evo black nano and the super gorgeous crank R40k at freewheel cyclogy - call Richard.
  16. try Bridge Cycles

well done on your 5th place in racing tandems
  18. i can vouch for this. Dylan Victor is a great guy. very help and will go the extra few miles. this is the same guy on SuperCycling MTB Skills feature.
  19. great. i wanna go ride my bike now
  20. great pedals they are. if only the cleats were more readily available.
  21. this is not a Zipp Freebody. my 404 ran 10speed first. i changed to 11speed without having to do anything. the Zipp Campy freebody is blue in colour. it looks a lot like a Mavic Freebody. i bought one and had to fit a spacer to make it work with the 11speed campy. ( i might be wrong) i am in cape town. call me, we can meet and we can check on my wheels if you like.
  22. My contribution to this awsome thread.
  23. by law, the name of the culprit cannot be released. if he really wants to trace the guy/owner of the vehicle, he needs to have a contact at the traffic department (the easiest). naming the guy can open a can of worms which will make your life difficult.
