Hello guys, I thought I should share my pleasant experience with Wayne. I contacted Wayne via whatsapp on 23 Decemeber and sent him some pics of what I thought was a crack in my XL frame. He confirmed that it was a crack and sent me a new frame under warranty, no questions asked. I recieved the new frame on 27 December. It does not happen often that a company stands by their product like Wayne and Rapide does. I urge anyone to do business with him. Thanks for the excellent service @Kiwi

You get a steel version aswell, not as common as the alu version though

Take a look at the Norco search, you can get it local. A friend has one and he likes it alot

Take it to Cycle World, if it only requires maintanance work they are more than capable of handling it

Yes, mine is mullet at the moment, 29er 2.6 front and 2.8 650b at the back. Rides amazing! I had 650b front and rear but the mullet has transformed the bike

Hardtails are great, I enjoy my Rapide more than any bike I have ever had. Hardtails are good for building skills and picking smoother lines on the trails. You wont regret it. The new Roscoe is a very decent bike with lekker geo. Go for it

See if you can get them off and pm me some measurements. I bought some from my LBS and used a lathe to turn them down to the correct size.

I have some end caps I machined to use for that exact conversion. The hub I got was a novatech and it was 142mmx12 and thru axle. The caps just slide in. If you dont come right then you can have them

I love my Tigre, use it for everything from trails to long rides, doing a 55km 'race' tommorow. Set up as a mullet with nice thick tyres. Best bike I have ridden to date.

Yeah, not really, their website says they have stock, the specials area says they have stock, but when you contact them and ask about a specific 10 speed advent x groupset going for dirt cheap, they dont know what you are talking about. They told me its not the advent x but the 9 speed acolyte groupset even though the app clearly states that its the advent x. They dont even go through the trouble of correcting their site.

Stay away from makro bikes, they are all useless when riding trails(like you said you want to do). Buy a 2nd hand bike. There are lots on here. Set the filter to min and max price point and off you go.

Rather look for a 2nd hand branded 29er. You should be able to pick one up for around R4-5K. There is a reason why makro sells totem.

Those trails are still just as fun. Way more lines in happy valley.

If you feel like shorter, more trail riding then have a look at happy valley, brandkop, 7 damme, tempe and woodland hills

My family uses Life360, there is a free version which works good enough. Shows your location and battery level, no need to start it as it is always on. You can set your work and home points which then sends other users notifications, detects when your driving and speed and on so on. Worth a look at
