  1. Howzit guys - just gone to the DEALEXTREME site - still coming out good for prices etc. Went to their contact us section, and - guess what... They're based in.... that't right. HONKEY KONG! Night tider, if u can get Cree q5's cheaper than from then, I'll come in with you to get some as well for myslelf, as well as some reflectors/lenses. Good luck with the exam!
  2. Good to hear! Is she going to be able to go across and compete properly?
  3. Great. That's the main thing - that he's okay and still fighting. Just tell him to get back on and take his anger out on the road. It helps, believe me.
  4. Well said slowpoke. I knew there was a reason I don't smaak Opel drivers... now I know it's more than just because I drive VW!!! Not all Opel drivers are assholes!!!!! LOL!!! yeah, i know. But you can't blame me for the generalization in this instance...
  5. yeah, it does - it's less of a journey if it's a circuit... if that makes sense? With a pt to pt, it's like you're actually GOING somewhere... hence the challenge to get there first & enjoy the feeling of actually going from place to place. It'd be like cycling the distance from JHB to CT, while on a track...
  6. Well said slowpoke. I knew there was a reason I don't smaak Opel drivers... now I know it's more than just because I drive VW!!!
  7. Here you go my friend, have yourself a cup of shut-the-f*&*-up. Does that taste at all like coffee? 'cos in that case - THANKS!!! I need some!
  8. 1 word..... AAAAAARRRRGH!!! So much ANGER!!! And I've just posted in another thread that we have to take responsibility for some accidents due to some of us skipping reds and getting hit. Now this BLATANT disregard from a motorist for a fellow road-user's life. What was Renaldo doing to deserve it? CYCLING HOME = Absolutely nothing at all! Please give him my condolences... did he at least get a reg number? (i know it would've been next to impossible to though, but one can hope) Is he at least covered? and not injured (too badly)? AAARgh!!!
  9. Agreed - it was said in a post earlier as well, concerning one of the clubs who ride like total nonsesical idiots, skipping robots with no regard for fellow road users. Only in the case where the driver is clearly at fault should we point fingers and start blaming - as is the case here. But as for those of us who skip lights and then get hit because we didn't see anything, sorry... disobeyed the rules of the road. I do have sympathy, but not at the same level and not the anger I would feel if a motorist had done something like this. We have to start getting our reputations back, so we can place blame squarely at the perp's feet without them coming back and saying "well, um, you cyclists do it all the time"
  10. KCNC = Pimp my Ride I got the shop to do a tubeless conversion and put the Crossmarks on. VERY wise move! Love the bike... hope u have many muddy moments in your trime together...
  11. Hey, really sorry to hear... these are happening more and more often now. stupidity on the part of drivers: a classic case of disregard for other road users (not to mention the rules of the road!!!) Give her my condolences - hope she has a quick recovery and can get back on a new bike asap...
  12. agreed! the first time you get your leg over her, lower yourself down and start cranking it up is always a feeling you're going to remember.
  13. that is hot! wish i may, wish i might...
  14. sweet... need to find more places like that down here! and a new job complete with shower so i can commute...
  15. Yeah... and who woulda thunk it... my first ever post/thread was CYCLING RELATED!! hahah!
  16. Woohoo! I'm domesiquated now. (hold on, should i actually be cheering about that?)
  17. getting into your "one with nature" phase, were you? Must say, i had the same problem when i first bought clipless. Except my off was into the flowers on the central divider on a main road! Was helluva fun.
  18. LOL!!! and if you do fall off, the impact isn't as hard because you got the beer barrier!
  19. I Second that motion!!! It will only be accepted into the family if we see pics of the beauty adorning the couch. Come on, give it some couch action! You know you want to!
  20. But I must add that drivers have a responsibility to DRIVE SAFELY, and avoid these "accidents" that happen too often for our liking. If we have lights and the right kit, the least we can ask for is responsible drivers not intent on making the roads a real-time mortuary.
  21. flippin MAD kit! But I agree - price is a bit too steep for it, even at that level of madness. Now if only some of our designers had as much vision... 'Tis a pity. Would love to get my hands on a sample version...
