  1. Not a lot, but just enough to make a big diff in feel. More changes per press on the downshift (1 on deore vs 3? on XT) Metal thumb lever Smoother actuation (bearings vs bushings) It results in a slightly crisper & smoother feeling.
  2. ATV isn't a duty, though. All it does is increase VAT from 15% to 16.5%. Duties are added before VAT & ATV are calculated. With bike parts, frames, any spare part for the use on a bicycle, there are no duties. It IS an extra tax, of sorts, but it's not a duty.
  3. One of these, but with a different model name. Think it was called a two-can or something. Useful for my parents to tell me if they were running late for school pickups / sports events etc.
  4. Yes, and spare parts are not dutiable items. Whether you're a distro or joe soap, it doesn't matter. They'll still pay VAT on the value of the shipment plus 10%, but spare parts do NOT attract duties.
  5. I had a beeper when I was 17, then I was upgraded to a 2110 in bright yellow later that year. 3110's and 3310's were the shiz. As were those Alcatels.
  6. No import duties on spares, mate. Just full bikes and apparel. And no, that's NOT the distro price, that's the suggested retail price. Yes, we could be screwed with the exchange rate (very likely) but your numbers are off.
  7. https://www.bikeradar.com/news/shimano-deore-m6100-12-speed/ The top-tier 12-speed Deore M6100 groupset is dedicated to a 1x setup. This is the first time 1x has been officially supported by Shimano at a Deore level.* The crankset (FC-M6100) is available with 30 or 32t chainrings, though the cranks use the same direct-mount spiderless chainring as all other 12-speed Shimano groupsets, so more options are available. Though it looks like the chainrings can be removed from the ‘spider’, these are not designed to be removed, and spares will not be available. The crankset is available in 170 or 175mm crank lengths and with the following chainline options: FC-M6100-1: 52.0mm chainline for 142/148mm standard/Boost hubs. 172mm Q-factorFC-M6120-1: 55.0mm chainline for 148mm Boost hubs. 178mm Q-factorFC-M6130-1: 56.5mm chainline for 157mm SuperBoost hubs. 181mm Q-factorAs expected, Shimano has stuck steadfastly with its longstanding HollowTech II design for the new groupset, and the crankset is only available with a 24mm spindle. Interesting tech aside, the new crankset looks great – it has a much more premium feel than the outgoing generation, in our opinion, and the glittery iridescent Deore logo is very handsome. *As a caveat to all of this, two non-series Deore-level 12-speed cranksets – the FC-MT610 and FC-MT510 – are also available. We assume these are intended to be used on bikes equipped with SLX and above 12-speed groupsets that are trying to hit a lower price point.
  8. Those aren't bolts. They're pins, made to look pretty. It's a DM crankset, but there's also a "normal" shiomano crank, like the SLX / XT non DM ones. The Deore M6100 12-speed crank features a direct-mount chainring and is available for single chainring use, only. The cranks feature a direct-mount chainring, but the chainring itself isn’t one-piece, but is rather two-pieces pinned.
  9. I'm really glad we're at this stage of bike development, right now. The future advances should be very good, from where we are at the moment.
  10. you wash that dirty whoar mouth of yours!
  11. popcorn time, bro. If you're on a PC there's a rad little plugin that essentially streams through torrent, and you can cast to the devices on the same network as you. Select movie, select device to cast to, play. It's what I wish Kodi was, when Kodi was still the thing.
  12. Rad. I'll watch it tonight, then
  13. This, paired with an XT shifter....
  14. Are you serious? I thought you meant you figured out who someone you knew was on here. DJR, I'm disappointed.
  15. Aaah, yes yes. My memory of that time is a bit fuzzy, and I've never been good with names.
  16. ooh goodness, yes. What were their handles, again? Barbie?
  17. YES! It was over taking his son to a movie that he was too young for. Parenting advice / scorn / accusations were flung left right and centre. Anton doesn't pull punches, and I think some people knew that and capitalised on it to "get him out". Taking on his parenting style was always going to end in a few bannings.
  18. Johann Bornmann was the mech.
  19. Anybody who rides a hardtail at Ezel, or a single speed rigid on the Epic, deserves respect.
  20. aaaaah, the gauntlet of Indian showstoppers....
  21. Duane was "banned" from saying the F word and the M word for a while.....
  22. That first pic looks remarkably like one of the roads in Higgovale.
