  1. Hey, all my lines are French, because that's how I kiss the dirt if (when) I come off....
  2. Nah. No thanks. Even at my weight I'm not gonna stress over something like that. I ain't no freerider trying to do barspins on massive road gaps and drops, which is what I think this fork is made for (like the old Totem) I mean, the name is kiff and all, but I don't see the benefits of a stiffer fork than the lyrik or my Marz when I'm not anywhere close to challenging their stiffness. Damper upgrade, now that interests me. ???? Edit: However, if I was building a new bike or I needed a new fork and the choice was between this, the lyrik and anything else, I'd definitely consider it as an option. 38mm stanchions just look so much better than 35s
  3. Why you talk about me? ???? Nah, even I wouldn't want one when the lyrik is already so good. If I wanted to go back to a heavier fork, I already have the Marzo.
  4. I'd say that this is for freeride barspins. Like the old Totem used to be.
  5. An R 800 unit once a year is just as safe as a R 2,400 helmet once a year. Unless the R 2,400 helmet has features like MIPS and the cheaper lid doesn't, in which case you need to compare cheap MIPS vs Expensive MIPS Only reason there's an extra premium on the "high end" lids is due to engineering R&D to maintain the strength of cheaper helmets, whilst increasing airflow and reducing weight. That's it. You pay more for less weight & better airflow.
  6. Hahahahaa!! I despised watercolours when I still drew & painted. Pastels, oil and acrylic for me.
  7. Jeepers, I had one JUST like this when I was in gr10, that exact paint scheme. Got stolen by one of the reprobates at school during exams, and that led to my first "proper" bike, an ATX 830.
  8. You mean like this bad boy.... Yes, the box needs a refurb. But it was my old man's, so it's going to stay like this a bit longer.
  9. What a race!!! Edit: gutted for Albon, though. That was bad form from the Chav.
  10. As soon as the head comes into contact with something. A "cheap and nasty" lid is, normally, cheap and nasty because they don't need to put hours into development to get it as light as possible while still providing enough protection, and increasing airflow. The differences only really come in when MIPS and other impact-mitigating solutions come into it. Old & soft will almost always be worse than new and cheap, in my opinion, as in the new one it's still got a good structure that will deform and absorb impacts better than an old one.
  11. In terms of options: 5-10: New "adidas" sizing, smaller last than they used to use. Spaz: About the same sizing as old 5-10 (pre-adidas) and v comfy. Also slightly cheaper ION: Slimmer than Spaz & 5-10, but damn nice and well priced. RC: New on the market, not sure on sizing Leatt: New on the market, not sure on sizing. Shimano: Yeah, not sure on pricing, local availability or sizing, but in EU they have a few options. Another option, if your shoes are in good enough condition, is to get them re-soled at Barksole or one of the shoe repair places. You can get Stealth Rubber sole (or an equivalent) for about R600 per pair.
  12. And thinking about the side-hustle. Deeply. Profoundly. EDIT: Oooooh, leftover roast beef....
  13. Don't be that guy. They're doing it in the confines of their own residence, and it's not affecting you when you walk past. It's just the smell that some people can't get to grips with. Maybe ask them to close those windows that back on to the corridor / stairs, if there are any.
  14. the clutch on / off just changes the force required to move the cage. Not to lock it in place.
  15. IMO then it must be binding somewhere. Either in the clutch, or there's a burr somewhere preventing movement, or something's out of alignment somewhere. That, or the B Screw being too far in. What makes me think it's not the B screw is that you say it snaps back to position when you move it forward and release it. If it was the B screw, it shouldn't do that.
  16. It's actually just funny because the spazzers get so darn uppity and indignant about the whole thing. So it continues, due to their own reactions.
  17. It has to be so lame yet punny it elicits a burst of laughter and a shake of the head. No other response is acceptable. If you elicit no response, the person either has no humour, or you need to give back your dad card. A mate of mine is slowly being bombarded with the Rules of Dad now that his lightie was born yesterday.
  18. The gap between the top jockey & the cassette, which is controlled by the B Screw at the back of the derailleur, seems to be much too large, in that pic. But if it's not keeping the same gap all the way down, then it's an issue for sure. May be an issue / fault with the clutch itself, or it's binding on something?
  19. I seem to remember my grandfather complaining that walnut has gone to stupid prices over the last few years. Still a beautiful wood...
  20. Now, ja. It's like going to another world, now, when I go up there. I've said it before, if Durbs was run like how CT is, despite all CT's problems, Durbs would be BOOMING. That coastline is ripe for development and tourism. It's just sad that the powers that be just don't care.
  21. The capital of Fk It Hold My Beer. Also the capital of Do It Your Fkn Self, instead of "call a trades-person" to fix everything incl lightbulbs.
  22. YESSSSS RBS was a drool-factory for me, as was Gasoline Alley, where Thundersport and Ducati were based. Berea West Pre Primary, Sarnia Primary, Pinetown Boys High, Thomas More College for standard 9 & 10. I also wouldn't walk down there anymore, but I used to and have before with cash on me. Leigh's cycle centre was where I got my bicycle fix, when it was still in Pinetown. I used to work at the Hill Street Standard Bank in the early 2000's. That was on the upper end, which was still okay. That sports goods store (allsports?) was in the middle in one of those huts. Now, gone. Everything changed. Gov't just completely ignored the area, and it fell into disrepair and chaos after businesses started moving out. If it'd been maintained as it was in the 90's, it would have been a rad little place.
