  1. Ja but to be fair teh mercs were 30 to 45 seconds ahead and he had no chance of catching em, so they came in for the softs for the extra point. A perfectly good strategical decision, considering. It just all went to pot not even a lap later.
  2. JK mate. IDGAF
  3. height is already perfect for that....
  4. problem is... if I lower it, it'll restrict night-time activities... Which I still want. Thanks, though. I like the look of it, and once it's completed (fully) it should look even better.
  5. a bit of tidying up never hurts. You can normally tell when the leg hair turns to non-leg hair. Ladies just prefer a well-trimmed lawn...
  6. If Hulk had started he'd have finished... Racing happened.
  7. they both had tyre failures. LH on the last lap. MV closed from 30 pplus seconds to 4. Buttass failed too early to make it into the top 5,.
  8. I think McLaren have a dream team at the moment. Those two work so fecking well together yet are still competitive. Super stoked for Norris (who was catching Sainz at the end, showing his tyre management ability I think) but Sainz had *** luck. Hamfistilton... Mehness. How the heck can he be so damn lucky all the time. If Bottas had been in his position I'd have rejoiced, though. Because fisty would have dropped places like a pleb. Yes, I despise the tosspot. Albon... Gasly.... Most of all, I feel sorry for the Hulk.
  9. Ha! Yeah, it's still being assessed for weaknesses, but after stress testing and Mikey jumping on it, there was only 1.5cm of droop in the one corner, likely due to a softer piece of pine on that side. It's going to get reinforcement at the double bed base / leg junction, so that it's braced on 3 sides (a dado joint, in essence) It's only really the torsional strength I'm looking at, as the base itself is stiff enough to take me (tested) and it's properly connected to the legs. If it was just Mikey using it, it'd be okay, but I don't like structures that I think are only okay. I've got a habit of over-engineering stuff. Next step after the bracing are the slats (not for my kid, for others) the headboard, and a hidden LED strip for reading by. Then sanding and painting. Any other ones I make will be out of commercial ply, instead of shutterply. Bed is made. I'm not a military man, and any perfect duvet rollout only lasts 5 minutes with the gremlin around...
  10. Thanks!! I've propped his old ladder up in the corner, but I want to make a new one for him at the proper length. He gets down by jumping onto the double. It's strong enough for me to do pullups on, but I'm going to give it a bit more reinforcement so that I can sleep at the top if he has a friend over. That's my goal, at least. As for the blanket... I think it was Makro or Mr P Home. I bought it about 7 years ago, so I'm not entirely sure. It came with a pillowcase as well. It's not your typical duvet, it's more of a "throw" or whatever they call those duvets that are completely sewn together as a single blanket. EDIT: Just checked the label. Mr P Home.
  11. it may also be simpler to make one yourself with some cutoff stock and steel tubing.
  12. The new Single Dad Small Spaces Sleeping Solution. Built it to hold me on the top bunk, this is the prototype and I plan to build some for ppl who want a more modern and stronger bunk that doesn't break the bank. Second pic. Not woodwork, but another project. Copper and LED.
  13. Jeepers. I remember this stack... how long ago was this already?
  14. what happens to shoes in an accident.... they come off if they're loose, and even sometimes if they're tight.
  15. Whiskey Throttle. Can't just open it full taps in 1st / 2nd like that and expect not to be flipped over the back...
  16. I've got exactly the same one. Love it! Many happy cuts!
  17. Ja, look - VR definitely didn't have the same pace as El Diablo and some off the other quick boys, but damn that was a performance from him all the same. If he hadn't made that small mistake at the end, I reckon he'd have been second. And it would have been thoroughly deserved. He made that bike look like an RV.
  18. What a defensive masterclass from Rossi. A brilliant lorenzo-esque performance from Quartararo and a blinder of a race from Nakagami.

  20. Oooooh, storms... Love them & respect the hell out of them. Hardly anything more wonderful to behold than a Drakensberg or Highveld storm. The smell, the charge in the air, the serenity amidst the ferocity. But, I've had the harrowing experience of seeing ball lightning in real life, up close, with my old man at home in New Germany, KZN. It was long ago, but damn. Never again, thanks.
  21. I hate this song, but I love it.
  22. Wtf is this kaaak!?
  23. Norris is now my favourite driver on the track. Second is le Clerc, third Ricciardo. Norris is just so normal. Self effacing, talented and a bloody good sport. His (and le Clerc's) streaming and vlogs have been great during lockdown. He is the better face for British motorsport, imo.
