  1. My wheelset has them available. But shipping is horrendous at GBP 100. Thanks, SAPO. Thanks.
  2. personally I think they underestimated the level of support that SRAM would get for their 1x11 gruppo, even with the extra expense of the new freehub body. In the world of 1x11, they were left floundering with no real answer until now. But what they have now is a brilliant answer. No, it still doesn't have the same range as the SRAM 10-42 cassette, but having a look at it, which would you rather get? A 1x11 setup that bolts on to what you have atm, or one that necessitates a new driver body as well. For me, that's an easy answer. Plus - the SRAM stuff with their new derailleur design (specifically for use witha single ring) is far above what Shimano offers atm. But - you're right. In the middle segment, Shimano are leaps and bounds ahead of SRAM at the moment if for no other reason than pricing. In that segment, SRAM has been lacking. But = no longer, with the advent of the GX range. All the benefits of the earlier 1x11 tech (new parallelogram etc) and at the same price point as the shimano stuff.
  3. yeah, indeed. Though when upgrade time comes, I'll still be using SRAM to do the shifting. XT 11-42 cassette GX RD GX Shifter existing X01 crank & ring.
  4. 10& 11 sp has exactly the same freehub sizing. It was just SRAM with their different driver that was making it that much less affordable. This now makes it almost as affordable to go for the 1x11 as it is to go for a 1x10 with extender ring. Certainly cheaper than going 1x11 with only SRAM goodies when you factor in the X-Drive
  5. That cassette price is brilliant. Far better than going the way of sram and having to go for a new freehub body, which still puts the 1x11 of sram out of reach. Personally i prefer the sram gruppo but if i upgrade i will def use the cassette and srams derailleur/ shifter
  6. Magic any day of the week. Pace star is a harder compound generally used at the back or if you're riding predominantly hardpack and smooth single track. TL easy is their new tubeless ready that apparently seats a lot easier than the tlr used to (best to ask Capricorn about that tho - his knowledge on tires is pretty darn good) For the front I'd always go trailstar. Unless I was a jeep track warrior. For the back it's less important and comes down to how you like the rear to behave. Loose - pace star. Grip like **** to a blanket - trailstar.
  7. Those conti 2.2 jobbies are narrow as hell.
  8. Better grip, less rolling resistance and an overall better experience
  9. this is still my favourite... http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p6pb11135954/p5pb11135954.jpg
  10. You go to your lbs and get the thru axle conversion kit...
  11. Depends. You need to measure your existing saddle height from the middle of the bb to the bottom of the seat clamp, then have a look at the seat tube length of the large. If there more than 180mm exposed then you can go for the 150mm (30mm for the collar and seat clamp) but if there's less than that Then you know the answer. You also need to know what the max insertion of the frame is. Ask someone who has a large frame to find out.
  12. Awesome. I'm busy wondering what to get next. So difficult.
  13. Nope - according to reports he's been riding with the injury consistently for the last 18 years months or so. Well, more recent reports. HRC were apparently well aware and yet had him rode anyway.
