  1. bwa haha!! I LOVE ST! So challenging, and so gratifying when slotted properly...
  2. 6ft dead. When I'm alive, it's a different story.
  3. sora and tiagra both come in triple and compact' date=' i think.[/quote'] Correct... My GF has a triple Tiagra up front. Nothing wrong with it.
  4. Yeah, that tree being there was the reason we didn't go back down that section... was RIGHT in the middle of one of the better Faerie garden sections...
  5. Anyway... off to the land of Blue Plate Specials and litre mojitos now... See you tomorrow morning? 7:30 start...
  6. Yeah... got there real early - 7:30, and it's the best time for it all. Just so quiet. Didn't see the Muni's though... And Leet, there's now a tree across the singletrack, resting about 800mm above the track.
  7. And yeah, the wind was BITING!!! Did the loop around to the Silvermine gate, and then tried to get up to the vantage point. But when we got blasted, we both said "No" at exactly the same time, and headed back down to the park. Ended up being on the tracks for a full 2 1/2 hours though. Loved it!
  8. So am I - although it would've been a HELLUVA good reason for a new set of wheelz...
  9. Yes, went over "The Bridge" on the way up... Sorry to see there's an even newer addition to the fairy garden though... Busta boy must've been meeting secretly with his beaver mates...
  10. Ah, that was you! Was there this morning as well with a mate of mine. Me on a Silver Felt, with trackie dacs (tracksuit pants) on the legs & a yellow First Ascent jacket... Mate was on a Trek Fuel 7 in a red jacket... What a lekker day it was, as long as you stayed out of that wind!! I managed to leave my front wheel in the parking lot though... Had to go back when I got to Constantia village... cptmayhem2009-05-30 07:26:00
  11. Brilliant bike - solid components for the cash, and very good reviews from us normal rider types. A mate has one and he loves it. Climbs well, and makes the big stuff seem alot smaller. If the price is right, get it.
  12. Surely that'd create more of a mess?
  13. what size frame are the 2? if you look at the head-tube, you'll see that the bike for sal eis quite a large frame, hence the difference in head-tube length and supporting section between top tube and down tube. I'm assuming that the extra bit of metal (for reinforcement) would be due to the fact that it is a larger frame, and therefore under more stress...
  14. But yes, take it to the agent or the shop you bought it from, straight away. Just so they can check it properly...
  15. CREAK, or CREAKING... where's the creak coming from? It could be something as simple as the BB being too loose, or too tight... Could also be crank bolts (on the spider as well as the main crank bolt) That'd definitely explain the creaking when under power...
  16. I kinda like the "industrial" look of the welds - traditional Morewood, and it makes the bike look as if it can handle a helluva lot more than you can throw at it. Very utilitarian, and very hawt! Like the nekkid metal as well... Very sweet!
  17. so true... so true... these lines are often smudged by those who "know better", or, in our case, the trade unions who just do NOT seem to realise that the companies cannot afford the pay rises (in this particular period) that they are demanding, and if they strike, it just exascerbates the problem... there's my big word for the day.
  18. Bwahahahaha!!! Awesome... as far as max prices go, as long as it's above the equilibrium price (what people are prepared to pay for a certain supply of product) then it'll be fine because the max price won't have any effect on the market. If, however, the max price is set BELOW the equilibrium price, then we'll see problems... More quantity demanded, but less quantity supplied at that price. Hence upward pressure on the price, it rises, and then they get slammed by the distributors etc, and lose the dealership etc etc... The only way (i can think of) that the guy here is in danger of losing his dealership, is that the distributors have set a "price band" that he can work in, and he's gone below that price. The act of going below that price isn't anti-competitive in itself, whereas the setting of a minimum price for the dealer IS anti-competitive, so if anyone should go to the CC, it's the distributor. So what if the guy is selling his bikes at cost, or even below? The distributor STILL gets the full amount at the end of the day, it's just that the shop is getting more clients than shop B... who will then most probably run a counter-special etc etc. At the end of the day, the price WILL go back up, as the shops will not be able to sustain such activity over a long period of time.
