Yes armpies, you are correct. Had Captain Control 2.1 back and front, changed to Maxxis 2.10Front / 2.00Rear. Must say I actually hated the bike when I first rode it, as I enjoyed the looseness of the 26" - but gotten used to it now.

I converted my Spez to a 650b. Took some getting used too, showed the true difference between 26" and 650b, as this was the only change - very different to riding 26" and 27.5 on different bikes. I generally ride with pretty high tyre pressure, as I am heavy and I had to reduce pressure quite a bit due to a much stiffer ride - certainly took some getting used too.

I once rode Meerendal and there was a noob chick wearing a jean pant (boerewors curtain)!!! I almost stopped to take a pic. It was one of those crazy moments, you know like when people pull out an ipad to take a pic meanwhile the camera on their phone is way better.

I notice more and more dutchies whenever I ride.

Was a great race (63km) what little I saw of it, even though I crashed 17km in. Broken hanger, thank goodness for Lewis stores delivery van driving past, saved me from a long walk.

Just did 650b conversion on 2010 Spez Epic, gotta say the ride has changed quite a bit especially in the quick twisty turns. Going to take some getting used to, but overall im happy.

Yeah, except that rear bearings are shot and it buggered up the hub. Apparently shimano wants to charge a wack for new rim and hub. Me thinks I'm going to bang on 650b and get some more life out of this bike.

Ok so here is the deal, was checking my bike today after a bit of a rough ride on the weekend, and found this (see pic). Before I go and scare the daisies out of myself on the replacement cost for a Spez rear shock, do you think its broken beyond repair.

There is a long downhill section in this weekends Argus MTB called Ho Chi Minh (Strava appears to call it that), its the long narrow section with bamboo looking reeds (hence Ho Chi Minh) does anyone know if its publicly accessible? And from where?
