  1. Just out of interest, did they measure the distance of the new route? Looks like it could be around 110km's now (as per Google maps) with a lot more climbing now it WILL be a challenge...especially if the wind blows (as per usual)
  2. Hi Face Plant thank you, that sounds awesome and nice to have a change in the route! We will be there (as per every year) at the moment we are about 7-8 people, but growing by the day and our group should end up around 10-15 Always nice to be part of something bigger than yourself and help the elderly and less fortunate. See you THERE!
  3. Have they changed the route? Last few years have always been a ride out to a T-junction and then return with the same road back, but looking at the route on the Event page, it has a few loops now?

  6. Great glad I could be of assistance...yes I think you should be able to buy a hat if you want to. The kiddies "expo" is very small and together with the MTB expo and collection is in a marque tent at the same place where the 94.7 road race will start. The Birds "race" is first up and lekker early...enjoy it and have fun with your son
  7. Our son was about 18 months old when he did his first 94.7 Just go and enter him under the KIDDIES ride with ID number and all the rest of the info they request (as normal and as you would enter yourself - was a long time back, but they also need medical information and dad / mom name and contact numbers) - we did not have any issues to enter him, JUST DO IT let me know if you get sorted? It's a fun day out and the same place where we start the normal race now - they ride around a few of the circles (depending on the age, the little kiddies only go around 1 circle and about 1km) and it costs like R160 per kid and they get a shirt included and also a goodie bag...O YES AND ALSO A NICE MEDAL. The hats are like R99 (or something like that). 2015 the hat was awesome and he still wears it today...last year the Telkom hat was really crappy...not sure what happened to it...LOL. Just enter your son, I am sure it will be fine...
  8. Don't worry my mails were done in June or July sometime...LOL...you are safe with those dates!!!
  9. I specially sent a mail and also spoken to the CTCT office arranging the Junior riders DATE, requesting to have it the Saturday 10th March (us Gauteng families also like to do these things with our kids - THIS YEAR will be my sons 3rd 94.7 Kiddies race and he is only 3 ), but unfortunately they did not listen to me At least he did ONE Junior Cape Town Tour when he was only 11 months old hope you guys and toddlers enjoy the day on the 4th March! Maybe in a year or 5 they can change it back again to the day before the CTCT.
  10. LOL very true
  11. There is NO WAY that the organizers will be able to keep 100% of the riders happy with whatever they choose to do on race day...just rock up, get on the bike and take it easy the first bend from Grand Parade and then safely onto the highway and enjoy the rest of the race, if you lost 3 seconds on the first kilometer, work a bit harder around Hospital bend and you are sorted...if you are a sub-3 rider or a weekend warrior and do it in 6 hours...just go and enjoy the day out on the Cape Town roads would love to get an entry to CTCT 2018
  12. LOL yes...me thinks so...
  13. Not a BIG change in distance...see below. CTCT 2018 start.doc
  14. Thanx Jurgens...that is one of the reasons for the post here to see if anybody has used them before and any outcome... I would also think they might be useful on those long days in the saddle and on lekker flat-ish "farm" type roads and not really between bushes / trees with a Left-Right, Left-Right swerving type of cycling then I think these would not work very well Ek dink ook die regte ding sal wees om vir 'n GOEIE setup te gaan
  15. Not sure if these have been shared on any Forum yet (can not find any here on The Hub) So I thought I would share and maybe help some guys and gals out there...looks like an awesome bit of "special" handlebar grip that could / would alleviate some stress / hurt off your "radius" and help with someone hurting while riding, or maybe some needles and pins, etc. etc. I HAVE NOT USED THEM BEFORE, but maybe someone here on The Hub have used them and can maybe help share if they are any good??? Spirgrips SQLabs 411 grips
  16. Jealousy aside...would not mind owning one
  17. We will be there this coming weekend with the family, looking forward to it.
  18. HERE YOU GO... JUST TO START THINGS OFF...not sure how many you want...LOL...absolutely love MAXXIS tyres and need a few MORE to complete more Stage races PLEASE???!!! @bikehubber #scottsportsafrica #maxxistyresSA #bikehubber.
  19. Het jy hom gewen?? :-) eish...ek wou hom huis toe vat...LOL
  20. Congrats...would have loved to own that machine!!!
  21. Would be VERY surprised if anything actually happens to the driver of the taxi...
  22. Those shirts are amazing and would LOVE a few for me and the missus, but @ R450 + per shirt...eina, can get a lot of coffee beans for them prices.
  23. And only 9.2km's added together for those 5 hills @ an average gradient of +/- 4.5%...piece of cake
