  6. Maybe give the OFM guys a call and make sure before you give up??
  7. * NEW CYCLING SA RULE - If you are a late entrant into the OFM Classic cycling race or take out a day license only, you will NOT be seeded. You will be batched at the back of the race. For more information, go to www.cyclingsa.com
  8. WOW...nee wat dan is dit reg met my...ek haal my hoed vir jou af om altwee te doen...miskien kan ek dit ook eendag saam julle kom doen ... Follow this link...see page one on the right-hand side they mention Late entries...and page 4 is the entry page for Road, maybe print it out and fill it in before you go to registration...might save some time? http://www.ofm.co.za/downloads/Classic%20-%20Entryform%202013%20SINGLE%20PAGES%20Mangaung.pdf
  12. He he he dis die beste plan ooit...mid-race-carbo-load hoe ver is Albrecht in die race in??
  14. Thank you
  15. Agge nee dis nou slegte nuus sterkte ou maat en ja asseblief...hou vir ons 'n koue een in die cooler box vir die einde sal dit nodig hê hoop jy is sommer gou weer op die been!!!
  16. Thanx for your reply, this makes a lot of sense...basically it means, shut-up and hang on (LOL) yes it is VERY true and the wind has NOT been our friend in races this year up in Joburg area... and Bloemies CAN be a unpredictable place...hot and windy could be the order of the day
  17. Dankie Willie...gaan jy hom ry hierdie jaar?? It makes sense thanx...will have to pick up those legs and stay in a big bunch for the first 16km's until we hit the N1 and then take it from there... I guess we will get our groups / seedings only in next week sometime?
  18. Hi Garfield and hboli4...sorry to burst in here...how far is Albrecht into the race? I normally ride a little bit concervative the first 60 to 70 kilo's of any race and then re-evaluate how I feel and take it from there to the end...or should we give it "bullets" from the start?? Should we be more "careful" of the hills from +/- 65 kilometers towards the end...are they "rolling hills" or more towards "rolling STEEP hells"? This is my first OFM and thanx for your kind feedback

  20. Keep the newer 105 groupset...should be similar to the 2011 Ultegra (what I mean is you should not feel a BIG difference) and the external cabling is not so nice... Save another year or 3 and upgrade to a 11 speed Ultegra...or by then upgrade your old bike to a newer model with a newer 105 or Ultegra groupset... he he he PS - if you do upgrade one day to the newer 11 speed Ultegra, just make sure that your back wheel freehub can accommodate the 11 instead of 10 speed...you might need a different freehub (or another wheelset if a 11 speed freehub is not available for that set)
  21. http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-za/bikes/model/tcr.composite.1.compact/12718/59583/#specifications http://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/products/221888022/bike-cr1-team-20-m54/ BOTH bikes 2013 as above links?? If these are the bikes mentioned, then The Giant would be my choice...Full Ultegra groupset The SCOTT has Shimano 105 groupset and is also secondhand...trade-in If you don't mind the 105 groupset...then maybe make them an offer of R14,000 or R15,000 for the Scott and splash the rest on a fairly good set of wheels (if you don't already have a good racing set)...The Mavic Aksiums will be good as a training wheel set...or keep the extra bucks for when you need it... Also make sure of your size on both...
  22. Jip...the biggest portion of the deal depends on the groupset and the wheels... Do you have any details of the spec's on both bikes?
