  1. I have a different experience from all the above. Changed from M9000 to Level ult. XTR were either on or off and felt the lever was a bit wonky but believe that was addressed with the m9100.

Level's modulate nicely and the lever feel is much better.

Everyone has personal preference, you won't know until you try yourself.

    Comparison in weight?

  2. I currently ride the Sram Level Ultimates, was riding XTR before.

XTR was hands down the better of the two.

I find the Srams squishy and inconsistent even after serving and being checked by the bike mechanics at multiple shops.

I have never had a good experience with any Sram brakes.

Next upgrade for me is brakes back to the XTR.

Many thanks! What rotors ad size would you recommend ?

  3. Based on all the hype I bought one to replace my aging WTB Rocket. To be honest its the most uncomfortable saddle I have ever used. After one ride I took it off.

Are you talking about the FORCE saddle?

If so.....have you ever tried the Power Saddle of Specialized? It's something to get used to

  4. As my 8yo son and 10yo daughter's first ever MTB "race", they had a blast.  The mud and river crossings were so much fun for them.

What made it awesome from my point of view was how many people (especially those on the 50km race who blasted past us) shouted encouragement to both of my kids.  Almost brought a tear to my eye.  I had a good cackle at one lady who said "how awesome, daughter and dad date", and then someone who said "Amy will be proud" (He was wearing a BreakAway shirt).  One gent had to do some rapid avoiding action as my son veered in front of him in the mud, nearly causing a fall, but all good.  Just a smile and a wave.

The camaraderie was amazing.  I'm just sorry to the guy who I tried to help with his bomb that got stuck and I emptied his tyre of sealant. I hope you managed to finish.

Events like this make it great for me to be a dad of kids taking up the sport.

    And the organization was excellent.

I remember the 3 of you, awesome to see this and encourage them from young age!

Was one of them cheering them on, congrats to all of you!

  5. No, there are many rides that does not require a Smart trainer, some structured workout tell you at what watts you should be so you can control it yourself.

I'm using a Stages SC1 training bike....I thought Zwift is best with Smart Trainers so I was looking at TrainerRoad (also mostly for smart trainers) with their structured workouts and just manually adjust to watts required ?
