  1. Woah! Hope you heal up soon. Which park was this? I've seen a few people have big falls at Gap Creek of late.
  2. There's strong irony in the fact that Holland also produces more neurosurgeons than any other country...
  3. Have you chatted to Matt at Concept Cyclery Ballito? He's great at sourcing
  4. Sounds just like the business model hellopeter use...
  5. This. The discovery process can go back in time quite some way.
  6. I'm not so sure. Personally, when I went from my old bike to my new bike (both trail bikes), the build weight was around 2kg lighter. It certainly makes a noticeable difference to me when riding. That said, i dropped 8kg of body weight in the last 12 months, and that makes a FAR bigger difference, especially on the ups.
  7. Precisely. Had a ski trip to Canada planned for Christmas, but that won't be happening...
  8. We're planning a 2 week jaunt around South island when the borders open up.
  9. Funny enough I'm just getting involved in a project to collate and manage COVID-19 patient data, across multiple health systems and universities. It will be used to learn and predict better outcomes for patient management. With technologies like these in place an outbreak or pandemic can be far better managed on a global scale.
  10. Yeah, those are extrapolated weights and not really comparable IMO. Especially since Pyga have yet to announce an official weight on the production frameset. All the Fuel's I've seen on the scale were around the 14kg mark. I've yet to hear of a MoBu build over 11kg, but there aren't exactly a whole lot to weigh at the moment...
  11. Where are those weights from?
  12. If I was in the market for a new bike, this would it. What a deal!
  13. How is that going to work? The NZ economy is hugely dependent on interaction with other countries, who will not exactly be open for business. Nevermind the 200,000-odd tourism based jobs lost that are simply not possible to rehire since they can't afford the risk of tourists for a long, long time.
  14. Or the ridiculous 'trading hours'. Even worse when you're in another time zone! But they're cheap and pretty effective.
  15. Exactly. Divorce court here runs at about $20k (R200k) per day, per applicant. So it can eat into your estate value very quickly.
  16. I feel your pain. I'm invested in a fund via a manager in Ireland. Value is down US$58,000 in 10 days. It's going to take a while to recover.
  17. I feel like giving myself a pat on the back. This week I negotiated a settlement with the ex that we both feel is fair, and without the involvement of lawyers (which are properly expensive here in Oz). It was a long, tedious process, and did involved a few months of only communicating via our lawyers, but sanity prevailed and we managed to discuss it amicably. Very happy we kept it out of court.
  18. Australia implemented the same as of today. My parents were due to visit me in April from SA and have had to cancel their trip.
  19. Seriously? I've highlighted the exact reason you already gave. What percentage of South Africans do you think can afford that kind of expense on a regular basis?
  20. My first experience of this was fairly diabolical. I assumed the traffic light was a 4 way stop, and was nearly t-boned by some clown in a massive ute. I quickly learnt how it actually works.

    RIFLE

Amazing work! How do you get the leather to form like that, on the pellet pouch?
  22. My journey took a different path, although I didn't realise it at the time. I was emotionally disengaged for the last year of my marriage, feeling quite alone. Not a great place to be when you're changing jobs, houses, and countries in a short space of time. But in retrospect this gave me the opportunity to move on emotionally, despite living under the same roof. I met someone quite soon after we officially separated, and was very concerned that it was a rebound relationship for me. I've been completely honest with my partner about this, but she understands the back story of my marriage and it never felt like a rebound at all. I also unpacked a LOT with my psychologist, which has helped me immensely and helped make the right decisions and learning to trust my gut instincts. Something which I ignored for many years in my marriage. 4 months later, I feel like I'm in a really healthy relationship and I'm happy for the first time in a long while. Will see where it takes me.
  23. Oh I eat veggies with every meal, and always have. I love them. Just always felt obliged to order something with meat in restaurants for some strange reason.
