  1. Also been having issues with my "seethroughvita" shorts as are my brother and his son. Previous generation ciovita bibs are still going strong but new ones only used on the indoor trainer. All get washed cold sports wash cycle with no fabric softener so I think part of the problem is that the cuts are getting smaller (therefore tighter) putting fabric under strain. Just purchased my 4th mens small corsa 2 (crash replacement) and it is too small. Having to swap for a med yet according to size charts I'm definitely a small. Time to try something new I think.
  2. Hi Max Headroom Thanks so much for the constructive feedback which will be taken to the committee along with others on this thread. Please do not see an SGM or AGM as being a waste of time. Request for items to be put on the agenda, insist on being heard. The committee serve at the request of the members and we need to do our best to lead in a way that reflects those interests.
  3. Hi All While we may not share the same views on hospitality as the land owner, it is his property and we (including our members) will abide by his rules. We can put it to our members at a special vote if we keep Meerendal on our trail network so if you feel that this should be done, please send requests to have it at the November 10 SGM for 2023 club fees (info@tygerbergmtb.co.za). However, you need to give consideration to the fact that for people new to the sport, it is one of the only trail networks providing green graded trails. For many, it is the closest trail and there is safe parking. This may not be to your liking, but we have over 7000 members and none of us can claim to hold a view point which encompasses every mountain biker. So in short, before we go about bashing anybody, please try to include some more "we" and "our" into our conversations and remember that it is a huge juggling act for predominantly volunteers, to cater for the needs and wants of an extremely diverse group of mountain bikers as well as the owners of the land our trails are built on.
  4. Hi all We're not fond of hiding behind aliases and you can get the list of committee members from our website and I'm happy to correspond directly if required. We apologise unreservedly for both the language and tone of the latest club newsletter. It was both offensive and a poor reflection on the club, it's employees, it's leadership and the sport as a whole. We do not however condone riding in such a way that causes undue wear and tear on our trails. The purchase of an annual or day permit does not entitle you to ride a trail in a way that causes undue wear and tear. Going forward, our newsletters will be vetoed before publishing.
  5. bad enough you do this but to suggest others do the same on a blog site??
  6. For all those that would like to ride the TMTBC trails with their (non member) family or friends at this time, we are offering a holiday membership until the end Jan 2015 for just R150 (a real bargain! See wwww.tygerbergmtb.co.za for details). Day permits for individual trails are available at Hooggekraal (honesty box and SnapScan), Contermanskloof (The Bike Shed) and now at Bloemendal! The Bloemendal Day Permits, at R30 each, will be available from the Bloemendal Wine Tasting, starting tomorrow (20 Dec). Their hours are Mon-Sat , 09h30 – 17h00 / Su , 11h00-15h00. They will be closed for 25/26 Dec. As per the photo, the permits will be single use wristbands and will have the person's name and the date, for which it is valid, written on it. This allows access to the Bloemendal lower trails (B Spot, Lombards Terra, D'Aria, etc.) and into upper Majik, but not to the Bloemendaaler or Nitida or Hillcrest. If people would like to ride more than Bloemendal lower they should take out the holiday membership. Please remember that riding on this private property without the required bike boards on your handlebars or day permits constitutes trespassing.
  7. Thanks so much for the help and input fellow bikers. The riders in question have been contacted, have apologised and undertaken to purchase 2015 membership (we will keep an eye open in case they're forgetful). We look forward to seeing them on the marked trails with our funky 2015 bike boards soon
  8. The bloke who cost us Kliprug was not the first one to abuse the land owner. The Bloemendal farm manager has also had numerous run-ins with rogue riders and farms such as Altydgedacht are hesitant to grant any access to mountain bikers again because of the verbal abuse they've received from rogue riders. Our sport's reputation is on the rapid decline so it's time to put on the brakes.
  9. don't laugh - we've flagged plenty of rogue riding activities on Strava. There isn't much you can do other than ruin their PB or KOM as it's too easy to set up a profile with another person's name.
  10. better late than never folks, please join the page https://www.facebook.com/groups/839519866104287/ to get some updates on what is happening (lots by the way - my phone bill keeps telling me )
  11. Please can you assist with identifying the two riders (we will refrain from using the term "mountain bikers") who were caught riding up the concrete road on Bloemendal. Any info can be forwarded to info@tygerbergmtb.co.za
  12. The Tygerberg Nature Reserve are keen to hold another event at some point but will probably be exclusively in the nature reserve. We will probably pencil this in for february or march next year and will advertise beforehand.
