  1. That's the unfortunate thing about the Freestate. Need to cycle 130km to gain 800m elevation. When my parents lived there I always took my MTB with and cycled out of town on the dirt roads to the farms. Think the most elevation I got on a +-50km ride was 200m [emoji3061][emoji23]
  2. Is that a bike in a box I see, glad that you eventually made it back [emoji106]
  3. Dunno what happened with this post of mine [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji849]
  4. In George someone stole the 5000L water tanks which was donated after the rebuild of the old Tollhouse after it burned down. People will steal anything they don't have to work for. [emoji34][emoji36][emoji2959][emoji35]
  5. Brings back a lot of memories, my youngest daughter looked like that when she was born. Surely was a job to clean after she had a nr 2. [emoji3061][emoji23][emoji23]
  6. Like I mentioned earlier, luckily I've got a serious $$$$ problem to buy this or any bike at the moment. [emoji23][emoji23]
  7. Now this Yamaha is parked next to my mom's house and I've tried to bargain with the owner for ages but he just don't want to let go. Maybe, just maybe one day he'll have peace and let me take it off his hands. It's showing rust on the chain etc from standing and only being ridden maybe 4 or 5 times in summer. I don't see any visible marks of it being dropped or anything and it's still stock standard. Not sure about kms or year model. Will ask him when I see him again.
  8. No price that I've seen, but nowadays all the nice bikes start at well over R150K [emoji3061][emoji3064]
  9. https://www.zabikers.co.za/2020/07/20/yamahas-long-awaited-tenere-700-breaks-cover/ Saw this on the Google. [emoji3064] Makes my heart heavy seeing such beauty and to know that it's out of range $$$ for me.
  10. Why can't I see video's like these? What must I do to be able to see it? Using Tapatalk on my mobile phone.
  11. We've ridden there before but never went on the "outrides". I know that the previous guy who managed the bike park marked out the "outrides" and as far as I heard it was some nice trails.
  12. A friend of mine, also with a Toyota and it was quite all right afterwards. Drove it till he sold it a few years after.
  13. Awesome, I've always wanted to do something alike, but it's flippen hard work and one must have lots of mula to participate in something like that. Luckily now I'm too old and have too many broken bones etc in my body. [emoji44]
  14. "When pushing up a hill, don't forget to look up....." I do that a lot, together with prayer to reach the top [emoji120][emoji23]
  15. The S-works aren't mine. I've got a oldish Merida which I've changed to 1x, with a 40T at the back and 32T in front. Started looking for a bigger range already last night. If I have a 46T or even a 42T it might help a lot. Seems to me that I wasn't the only one suffering with climbs this weekend [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  16. ChrisF after today's ride going into the Jonkersberg MTO plantation here close to Groot Brakrivier I really wished I had an E-Mtb like yours, I suffered big time with 13,1kms of climbing in a 47km ride. Started cramping at around 20 - 23kms and eventually phoned the better half to get the bakkie and fetch me after my tank ran empty and I had absolutely no energy left.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200704/9ffb46626c6c051f8e15ab777af19f27.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200704/386dacee01d79984057eecf8380e0390.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200704/bd832fdf7451cf028acd19bca5368ad6.jpg

    SPD Sandals

I've got enough screws, wires and plates in my one foot at least to fit a cleat in it. [emoji23][emoji3061]
  18. Must be very very slippery when wet. [emoji2414]

    SPD Sandals

I'll buy a pair if it was Crocs with cleats.
  20. Following Yamaha on Instagram, the 700's seems like an awesome bike and they look so damn good. Any experience on the 660 Tenere, would really like to know people's opinions on them as I like it a lot?
  21. Are you running +size tyres or is it just the photo?
  22. I scuba dived Protea Banks, Southern Natal, only once. Sea was quite rough and we were told that when we surface one must do so one by one and to not make any safety stops because of GW, Tiger Sharks and Hammerheads. Well I saw all 3 including Ragget tooth sharks, was a pretty sight but o my word, nerve wrecking when one went up. As you hit the surface you must be out of your BC so that the skipper can load you asap. He would only then load one's scuba kit. It was very scary.
  23. En dan staan jou fiets nog teen elektriese draad ook [emoji3166][emoji44]. Could've been a shocking day also. [emoji298]
  24. And then in the week, big brother decided to take little sister on a more proper ride. She mentioned that at times she felt like crying. I must admit that since I bought her the Scott mtb she loves riding much more than when she had the other "mtb".
  25. 12.something kms today with my youngest who luckily enjoys cycling with me. Bought her a Scott 60 from my sister in law after me offering to buy the bike for almost a year. Her first ride with real cycling pants, a bib I got for free some time ago which almost fits her.
