Because of this reason I've read up quite a bit lately and many adventure riders says that hard panniers not only protect the bike when falling over, it also helps quite a lot to lift the bike again as it won't be that low to the ground which kind of makes sense to me?

Nowhere, but I visited a bike shop today and for the 1st time saw the Trek Stache 9.7, holy moly, what a flippen beautiful bike. I'd like to have this bike. Light as a feather if one considers the dropper seatpost as extra weight and fat 3.0 tyres. Very nice groupset on it as well.
