  1. To say that I am 😲😳 (pleasantly surprised) would be very much an understatement so early in 2022 and in today's Day & Age !! I placed my warranty claim last week Wednesday 12 January and having been kept informed throughout by DHL - the parcel was delivered early this morning, less than 3 working days !!! I also only came across this thread by chance so Win Win all 'round 😎
  2. anyone else having issues where Vitality Points are not reflecting for workouts completed over the last few days ?
  3. Port Elizabeth, they have however made contact today and confirmed availability
  4. The Apple Watch Series 6 - Black S/B GPS on the good side, they have stock today and I have been notified
  5. so just to confirm that I have succeeded in this regard by "being forced" to migrate to Discovery Bank and await another NEW Card, and as would be the case about availability - the IStore have taken my details as NO WATCHES ARE AVAILABLE due to a 2 - 4 week waiting list
  6. Thanks Frosty - I also received the confirmation Message in writing. The thing about contacting Discovery is working through all the computer generated frustrations.
  7. Not sure if I am the only one finding it next to impossible, well IMPOSSIBLE as I have not yet been successful at activating the IWatch renewal This would be my 3rd IWatch activation if it was possible. I have the Credit card etc. so what am I missing here ? both online as well as by mobile Any suggestion or advice will be appreciated
  8. Race2Stanford is scheduled for 24 April Who else is making this point to point event from Hermanus ?
  9. big bro' Brody and little sis' Allie - 5 years and 9 weeks respectively ! I was "spoken" into how the timing under lock down stay at home conditions were ideal for integrating a new family member what a bundle of joy but boy, how I have forgotten just how sharp and needle like the teeth and claws are
  10. I won't mention names, but I have it on good authority that as it stands at this time - the event scheduled for November will likely go ahead even with some modification. So keep up with the training even if only run, bike ... run more
  11. aaah yes, my bad - forgot about them T&C's Thanks
  12. Good morning, Has anyone purchased the Wahoo products through Sportsman's Warehouse with Vitality rewards depending on your individual % you get back ? I qualify for 50% back, and I am rather keen to confirm that on a spend of 18k, I will over time with Vitality be able to recover 9k with the reward system at 50%. Thanks in advance for any confirmation. Cheers Curbie
  13. Solid 13.5hr training week between 10 - 16 February which closed out with a long 2h30 run in the brutal 40deg heat that was about on the Sunday. It took copious amounts of water, coke, nourishment and the AC on full to keep moving for the rest of the day !! Monday - first time in years, and I have a tickle in the nose by Wednesday full blown "MAN FLU" which gets me bed ridden for 3 days and only 4hrs in the saddle only because I was a spectator for the Herald Cycle Race in sublime conditions yesterday. Still bunged up, as we all know that "MAN FLU" is real Thing is ::: some 4/5 weeks to go & I'm crazy paranoid about how long this 'sinus will still be lingering around for ! I guess, rather now if it has to be than 2 or 3 weeks out
  14. just like that : apparently as from today, the IWatch can no longer be activated & linked to Vitality ? Can anyone verify this please ? 2019-01-17 : Device Support As of the 18 January 2019 we will no longer support the below devices: Tom Tom iHealth Misfit Members who currently have the device linked to Vitality can continue to use the device to earn their points. These members will only be able to check if their device is linked on the Discovery website and not the on the Discovery app. Any attempts to link one of the above devices from the 18 January 2019 will be unsuccessful.
  15. Thanks Reme, It must be the 5 friends reach their goal that is pending - I have linked x 9 ... perhaps they're investigating Chad hence the 'pending'
  16. my apologies if already asked and answered, or if I am simply being stupid but are we generally supposed to be getting 2 plays per week or 1 ? (ie) My wife is very much on the same setup as I, i.o.w we have not registered for the drive or insure options and both have more than 5 linked friends etc. however she has been getting 2 plays and myself only 1 ? all benefit boosters activated and in place. On the bonus play challenge app, I have noted that the previous challenge is "pending" We are definitely not interested in the driving goal challenge Thanks
  17. Just been to SW as it's yellow ticket SALE and got to speak to the Manager ... guess what let's just say - it will be sorted tomorrow there are ways to also do the 'F 'Em
  18. I really will appreciate some advice, or even if I could get to speak to a representative of Discovery Vitality that would be great. I am aware that the success rate of challenging the rules or T&C's of Discovery are like 0%, but I can't stomach that this business, is so pro 'excercize and get out & be healthy' yet at the same time it seems they care less than even Virgin Active about their clientele. All communication (which is extremely tedious) has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. So this is where I will be open to any advice, or options or even if I'm just told to suck it up and move on. Some two months ago already, my daughter was SOLD a pair of running shoes a size to big by an eager salesman at Sportsman’s Warehouse, and she promptly returned the pair of shoes within 24hrs for a replacement. As would be the case, the correct size was NOT IN stock and had to be ordered from the Cape Town Branch. All the while, we were at no stage whatsoever informed that any of this would be in breach of the T&C’s with Discovery. In fact, the staff reassured us that all would be in order. In good faith, we were prepared for the correct size shoes to come from Cape Town. Upon following up some 2 or 3 days later, we were surprised to be informed in person at SW that the order from CT had unfortunately not been placed and it was an oversight on the staff at SW. The shoes did then in fact arrive a week later, and the transactions were done by staff at SW. Again, at no stage whatsoever were we informed of any breach on the rules. (refer to the ruling from Discovery) To this effect, I ask the following :: • The activation of the R350 is not refundable under the rules so is just pocketed by Discovery Vitality • They will have preferred in this instance that my daughter risk injury by training in the wrong size shoes ? • Is the onus not on the staff of the nominated service providers to be well versed with the rules and terms of the Discovery T&C’S and not reassure the public that all will be in order ? Do I just let it go ? Curbie
  19. Thanks Craai, I have personally activated mine in November 2017. I'm trying to activate for the Mrs, and yes she has her own profile etc. I will try your approach as give it a go
  20. Has anyone tried to activate the shoe booster recently ? This has been down for sometime now, with the only advice from Discovery being : Please be advised that in the interim we received communication from our systems team stating that this is a known issue. We are aware that Members using an iOS device will be unable to activate the Shoe Booster benefit due to a technical issue. The issue occurs when members are trying to make payment via the "Pay now" option on the Discovery app. As a work around members could try logging out and back into the app but proceed to make immediate payment for the Shoe Booster benefit. Please bear with us at this time until further notice, please visit the Discovery website and check the Vitality help page for updates on this issue. As a work around members could try logging out and back into the app but proceed to make immediate payment for the Shoe Booster benefit. this is the part I have been unable to figure out #challenged Anyone been successful ?
  21. I have only two issues with Discovery at present, and it is all related to Vitality and the Shoe Booster. Oh, and it's not that yet again some feeble technical issue is the reason why there is a delay in payback as at today I could very well be the one at fault, or even the one not informed but for several weeks already neither Discovery personnel nor 3rd party vendors have been able to set me on the correct course to resolve my issue - so hopefully a Discovery Guru, or fellow Hubber could shed some light on the following - all advice/suggestions or fix will be much appreciated. Firstly, my daughter activated her shoe booster sometime in April already. The entire process according to procedure on the App as well as with Sportsman's -- however, the salesman at Sportsman's was over eager to earn his commission so 'SOLD' my daughter a size to big. This was promptly rectified the next day by returning the shoes, in exchange for a size smaller. First problem, of course Sportsman's did not have the correct size so had to order in from CT all the while confirming that the SALE would not go through on the original invoice. Apparently, Sportsman's did not hold onto the agreement and processed all as 'CANCELLATION', only to be debited when the smaller pair arrived. All has been explained to Discovery on several queries, and still now some 2 months later - this matter remains "please be patient, we are aware of your query and it will be dealt with in due course ..." Seriously, how long does it need to take. I am also trying to activate shoe booster for my wife on her own profile, again without success as for days on end all she gets is an error 500 !! The very same for when trying to log a query in this regard. How do I go about dealing with a HUMAN for attention and closure ?
  22. same, same but different - this is Hobie Beach at 06h00 this morning. The water was a little fresh but as flat as a lake. We were privileged to share the water with a school of dolphins about 500m out close to 6 pack, and for the unsuspecting swimmer it can still be both a frightening moment as much as a wow moment. bucket list

  24. Not sure if this has been asked and answered before : but at this late stage of the year, is it still viable to activate the shoe booster ? Is it pro rata (calendar) based or the full year activates from say October '17 to October '18 ? Same for the running license and activation fee
