  1. Thanks I did, I already had ones like those. Was looking for the Alan key ones

Hell, you've just bought a complete new bike. I think that counts as prep
  3. I didn't think about it at the time. Also difficult for me to get to you during the week. I'll remember for next time though. Did you get my PM?
  4. Unfortunately they dont. CWC only had 2 in their workshop spares box no more. Went 2 3 other bike shop and they had nothing. Got told "go speak to the guys that deal in classic bikes." "You can't get them anymore" Started explaining to one young salesman (and i don't consider myself that old) that I had a square tapered bottom bracket. He repeated in disbelief, "a square tapered bottom bracket?" He's probably never heard of one before, complete confusion on his face." Then again he probably doesn't know the connection between a pencil and a tape, or selotape and VHS.
  5. So, will the first name or middle name be Flowta ;-) He says he still has a few, he's going to send me some pics of what he has tonight
  6. It's a set of Alexrims (not sure of model), on Novatec hubs. Was thinking around R500
  7. That pic is from the internet. The actual crank came from my dads Bridgestone MB3, I must check if they're biopace (they are what came as original, the 46t and 24t at least). Still have the original Biopace chainrings on my roadbike 1988 Miyata 712 Picked up the DB as a frame.
  8. Damnit, I knew I forget something
  9. Only needs to move ±12mm
  10. I saw the glass repair guys this morning. Damn that's the second time they've been hit this year. So much for moving to a new premises for improved security. Eish
  11. ACtually busy deciding what route to go with that
  12. Thanks, but managed to find some at CWC. Found them in the workshop spares box
  13. The guy I got it from had a few more, I'll see if he still has them
  14. An update, in the final stages now Just need to cut the steerer, put new crank bolts on, and decide on which tensioner to use. This one (some more fiddling required I think) Or the Dartmoor Simple which I have in my spares box. (used it on a previous SS build) http://cdn.probikeshop.fr/images/products2/115/70438/70438-DARTMOOR-Guide-Chaine-Simple-ISCG-05-Violet.jpg
  15. Oh yes, still deciding on the tensioner
  16. This is the crank currently.
  17. Hey guys, thanks a lot for the offer. I took a chance and popped in at CWC at Willowbridge. They managed to find some in their workshop.
  18. A legend at the gate would, so inexperienced people riding the trails actually know what they're looking at.
  19. I may have something for you, problem is that I'm in Cape Town
  20. Oh yes, Guy (aka Singlespeedguy) at Guys Bicycle Shop in Kenilworth might have something in stock. http://www.guysbicycleshop.co.za/contact-us/
  21. Yes, that's true. Forgot to mention that you could go custom with Mercer. You might have to get in line though. Here are some of his other builds http://mercerbikes.co.za/about-blog/
  22. This can also be "fixed", but why would you want a waterbottle on a bike like this anyway?
  23. How about the Contraband Rogue https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/featured/reviews/review-contraband-rogue-single-speed-r1185 Local product, only issue I see for you is the QR rear. Being in Cape Town, I'm sure you might be able to covince the David Mercer or the guys at Salvo bikes to manufacture/adapt the dropouts of the On-One or any steel frame to thru-axle. That's if you don't find something else

Where abouts are you coming from with freestyle skiing? Europe? States? Are you South African? Sorry for the 20 questions, Just missing the ski seasons that I did do. Been itching to do another trip. Omega Man will be able to help you out there. Also keep an eye on the WP DH webpage and facebook page. http://wpdownhill.co.za/ https://www.facebook.com/wpdownhill Better yet, do you have a more All Mountain bike (something that's able to be pedalled uphill)? There is an Enduro at Jonkershoek arranged by them. Most of the guys from the Steilte trails will be there.
