  1. She's not spesifically a sports nutritionist but she has plenty of clients doing the Epic and she is also the dietician of all the Fight Fit Militia MMA fighters. She knows her stuff
  2. Inge Retief 0118751914 Her office is at Fourways Life hospital, but she works in Sunninghill Hospital as well
  3. I can already see the headlines: "peddling pedophile caught"
  4. Sounds like you know who I am, am I on some Interpol hitlist that I don't know about?
  5. Ha ha, I recently bought a brand spanking new set of Mavic SLR wheels for my Yeti. Nice hey? I wouldn't know, I bought the wheels mid January but haven't been on my bike since then. The day I got my bike back from my LBS I got sick, spent 3 weeks in Hospital and have been trying to recover since then, have lost 15 kgs and all my fitness (was training for Epic).
  6. Aren't fireworks made from gunpowder?
  7. Seriously though, I race offroad motorbikes and cramp really badly in my abductors the evening after a race or really hard training ride. It only happens occasionally and nothing I've tried has been successful. I've learnt to live with walking around or lying on the couch or whatever and then suddenly not be able to move my legs and be in serious pain. At least everyone around me gets a good laugh out of it.
  8. Have you heard of the Powerband Bracelet? Works wonders for cramping, it's has a magical hologram that's tuned to your body's cramping thingymaging and stops you from cramping.
  9. sorry bud, I'm busy (if you were female with big babylons I might have found some time in my schedule) good luck with the (erm) hunt.... ask your LBS, they should know of a group that rides in your area
  10. you guys still bragging about your wrist clocks?
  11. Give us some more info on yourself, are you male? female? serial rapist?
  12. There, fixed it
  13. behold my spectacular timepiece:
  14. I'm not overly concerned about weight, just want a strong/stiff set that wont let me down. Custom is a option and the Mavic's are looking like the best option at the moment.
  15. Thanks guys @Nate, the Mavic's are definately a option. Looking at some Crossmax ST's as a option @Johan, ZTR olympics laced to Hope hubs, any good for my weight?
  16. Hi all I'm in the market for some new MTB wheels(26"). I currently have DT swiss 430 rims laced to XT hubs on my bike. I have been looking at the Stans ZTR olympics for a while now. There are a pair of XTR wheels and a set of ZTR olympic rims laced to XTR hubs for sale on the hub at the moment. Which would be the better set to get, considering I'm fairly heavy (90kgs) and will be using them for the Epic. So I need a reliable and strong set for my weight. Thanks
  17. I like to throw the naartjie onto the grass without peeling it, that way when you sit at the top of the eastern pavillion you can almost reach the middle of the field
  18. You guys should try riding The Roof, those palookas will let the stage go on if a volcano erupted in Lesotho.
  19. He he, Eks verbaas niemand se boerie roll en n bier nie? Ok I see most people is not too keen on the recovery shakes. I like the idea of a homemade one Jaco. How about some pepto-pro in there? Ek hoor daai goed week lekker? Het iemand dit al gebruik?
  20. Hi all Just wanted to get some opinions on recovery drinks. I'm training quite hard at the moment and want to start experimenting with a few different recovery drinks. I've tried USN Recovermax but there's too much sugar in their products for my liking. Before long rides and races I drink Megan's endurashake which is awesome, but looking for something to drink afterwards I've never been a big fan of meal replacement shakes. But with the amount of training I'm doing now I know I need to get the good stuff into my body quickly after a ride to maximize my recovery. Appreciate your comments and suggestions
  21. Few good routines: (dont just do weights, work some plyometrics into your routine for explosive power) Something you can do at home: 5 sets of: 24 x air squats (no weight, full depth); 24 x squat jumps; 24 x lunges; 24 x split jumps (do a lunge, then jump and switch your feet). As you get stronger you can hold some dumbbells in your hands to add weight Gym: warm up properly (if you have a sled or heavy tire to drag at your gym, do some heavy backward drags to warm up those quads, try to do 4 x 50-75m drags) then 10 sets of 10 x Front Squats, heavy enough to just finish 10 reps (you can do front squats on the smith machine if you not comfortable with the olympic bar on your chest) or you can combine squats with box jumps: do 5 sets of: 5 x squats + 5 x box jumps on high box(50-60cm). Add weight and raise box as you get stronger. PS: If you have never done squats before, get someone to help you with your form. Squat deep, so your ass goes lower than your knees. Rather go lighter and do it properly, you only cheating yourself if you dont do it properly. Look up and keep your back straight.
  22. actually it was a USN branded Porsche Cayenne
  23. Ok so we shouldn't read anything into seeing Albe Geldenhuys cycling in Biogen kit at some road races earlier in the year?
