  1. A Bergvliet man accused of knocking over a cyclist and leaving him to die had driven like "a maniac", a witness testified on Tuesday. "He drove like a mad thing," witness Andrew Fortune repeatedly said during cross-examination in the Wynberg Regional Court on Tuesday. Fortune said he had only seen Andries Zuideman's vehicle once it had slammed into one of the three cyclists riding in single file ahead of him. http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=13&art_id=vn20090218115426889C423520 FanieFiets2009-02-18 07:06:52
  2. sure, sien julle daar
  3. wobble nou by signature If something like a stem snaps you must take it up with bike shop/distributor. If it is a part that must be recalled they wouldnt do it if the dont know about it and they would only know about it if people let them know.
  4. followup on KCNC's service after the crash. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=43111&PID=677419#677419
  5. For those of you who didnt see this post of my dad crashing because his KCNC stem broke. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=42292&PN=1 After reading the post on the hub Sean for KCNC contacted me to get his details to my dad. My dad phoned him and he met my dad within a hour and half at WE. He apologised to me dad that something like this has happend. Apparently this is the first stem that he distributed that broke, that includes some of our countries top riders. He has send it back to Taiwan for proper analylis. He also told my dad that his fork was a recall (something that WE should have done). He send my dad a new stem free of charge, no questions asked. All and all 10/10 for their aftersales/aftercrash service. FanieFiets2009-02-11 02:40:18
  6. agreed' date=' especially with online entries it cant be that difficult to organise. How much does it cost to make a medal? [/quote'] Its not feasible Mampara, how would you control this, on the day I will wager many cyclists who didnt order a medal will take one - then what?? - unhappy cyclists who did pay up for one.! You cant stop each cyclist as they cross and check a number or something, its too time consuming especially on races with 1000 or more entrants. Just take the thing and throw it away if you dont want it, R20.00 is not going to change race entries much. How about this idea then. Entries does NOT inclued the token and you can purchase it afterwards?

  8. why don't all the "killarney girls" get together and blow the race apart from the start. you should be able to halve the bunch by riding hard past F'kraal and on the R312. then they latch on to A and the are together anyway...... I'm not sure how strong us "Killarney girls" will be against the pro's that will be riding!! And Fanie - as much as we'd like to jump onto A - that's not allowed!! Ja, but whats allowed and what happens are 2 different things. Going to be tricky separating your group and a the A bunch with 100 riders....... hope it works though, otherwise senseless.

  20. I had only two laaities, one with the stick as well. Ja, it was at Du Noon. I swear I'm gonna ride that route again with a big stick or Colin as a backup and moer them goed.
  21. Warning to everyone riding through that informal settlement to Killarney. Yesterday 2 brothas tried to jack my camelback and bike. One grabbed my bike and one my backpack trying to throw me to the ground. Luckily i kept upright and moered the one guy and made lot of noise. Thye ran away after seeing my 'guns' . Lorry behind me also stopped when they saw what was happening. This was 17:30 in broad daylight in peak traffic!!!! PLEASE GUY and GIRLS dont take that route to killarney. I was very fortunate not to get seriously hurt (only couple of scratches) and still have all my belongings (broke a cleat and back wheel is buckeled). I hear another hubber was attacked at the same spot last night. FanieFiets2009-02-05 02:04:54
