Please answer clearly....does '100' = insured value or replacement value? And I never said I expected them to pay more. Read my question again. How will they calculate my pay-out....? Replacement cost = 80000 Insured value = 45000 Insured value is 56% of replacement value hence a payout of 45000 x 56% = R 25200 OR 80000 x 56% = R 44800

and with medical aids etc? Not very intelligent comment to make. The insurance makes a profit, duh. But lots of peoples lives and businesses have been saved because that had insurance. Who do you think lose if your car get written off within the first year?

Let's say it get's stolen. Are they then going to pay out half of the replacement value ie +40k or half the insured value ie +20k...? jip, that is correct. it is called awery (afrikaans). You get screwed when underinsured. But 'awery' isnt applied to all items.

Do a test. Weigh your bikes. Add weight to his bike (brick in backpack) so that its equal. Then add another 2.3 kg to the backpack to make you power to weight ratios the same. Then klimb hill!!!! Or you can lose 3 kgs plus weight of bike and do the test but i think it will take longer.

These guys were fantastic. PPA should have got them involved long ago. But some motorists just can't be helped. The bike marshal with our bunch almost got taken out from behind. The bunch was cycling inside the yellow line on the R44. Marshal was next to us on a large bike' date=' reflective vest, hazards on. Can't miss him you think. A Toyota Corolla came past at high speed and had to slam on brakes to the point of just about locking wheels to avoid rear ending the motor bike... [/quote'] must concur, these guys were awesome.
