  1. I Hubbers, so about a year ago I bought a Rancilio Silvia and Rancilio bur grinder after using Nespresso pods for almost 5 years. With the help of fellow rubbers I dialed it in and what a revelation. The Nespresso usually go with us on holiday. Last week we did the Namakwa 4x4 echo route from Pella to Vioolsdrift. This was bare camping with no ablution facilities. For this trip I bought a moka pot and ground my beans. I used a gas stove and sort of dialed the moka pot in if you can use the term. I believe the moka pot delivers better coffee than the Nespresso. Anyone else here use a moka pot instead of a Nespresso machine?
  2. Hi Hubbers, I am in the market for a semi auto espresso machine like the Gaggia classic pro or the Rancillo Silvia. I am following some Facebook pages that I came by thanks to some hubbers. These machines seems to be as scarce as hen's teeth though. If anybody wants to upgrade or know of some machine somewhere please give me a shout. It is my new hobby for 2021 as life is just to short not to enjoy good coffee (and taking into account all the shiate going on nowadays. Cheers Joe
  3. Stage 1 pic is awesome. If I was Sabine it is surely one that would go on the wall. Pure determination.
  4. This is well done. Cheers Iwan
  5. Saw the finish of Plaza and Sagan chasing. Mtn boytjies doing well, seeing mtn is a wildcard team and leading the team classification. What are the chances of mtn qhubeka being in le tour again next year? If money might be a problem, will some of the other teams look at the mtn cyclists?
  6. Hi v12man. 1. Seems like ktm is the big thing now. I am not brand specific. We have a honda dealer in upington. The nearest ktm dealer is in bloemfontein, 600 km away. Which brand has the lowest maintenance and why? 2. We mostly have dunes and amageza type terrain. Lots of open spaces. That is why i am looking at 450 or 500 cc. Is there something else i should look at? 3. Do you guys know of a motorbike forum where i might be assisted with these q's? Hubbers with experiance with different bikes and their views will be much appreciated. Feel free to pm me if this is ot. Thanks
  7. Hi guys, anyone hear that are into enduro racing? I am looking at buying a xc 450 or 500 cc bike, but need some advice. Thanks Joe
  8. I know mods are keeping an eye on this, so I will voice my 2c regarding any changes, so here goes: Some believe that certain topics will go down south quickly in the rant and rave section. I disagree. I remember a thread where someone bought a silverback scalera frame from a hubber, but said hubber did not ship after payment was made. Buyer called him out after he could not reach him on phone anymore. A lot of hubbers got involved, but the Seller joined and apologized. That did not go south as a lot anticipated. Also, many a time we heard one side of the story, then the seller or buyer offered their side and a different story came to light where the thread just went quiet. Please keep that in mind when you guys are contemplating change. Cheers
  9. Hi Henry, I have the 2012 storm. The new color scheme is awesome. How did it come to crack?
  10. One more thing, I believe in apples. At around 11 the hunger pangs hit me,I have a bag of apples in my office and will eat one and around 15:00 I eat another one. They are low gi and I feel more energetic after an apple.
  11. I am training for the k2c and wines2whales. On saturdays we average 80 km rides. Tuesdays and thursdays it is intervals or 30 km high pace. I just started training for the fish river canoe marathon, and that happen on mondays and wednesdays. I am 1.77 and weighed 77kg. I bought a usn muscle fuel as an extra meal because I lost 1 kg in about a week. I believe recreational cyclists should do some upper body workouts as well. Especially core workouts. Long distance cycling does not burn my belly fat. Standing intervals and rowing does. My 2cents
  12. Yip, I believe this is another gimmick. When You get tired and you need more air you breath through your mouth. What might be a valid point is that the air through your knows might be cooler than that through your mouth. This turbine in fact will open your nostrils which in fact will prevent it to cool down. I believe this difference will be marginal though. You also loose more moisture breathing through your mouth, resulting in drinking more fluids. I need to train more and eat better. That thing will not go into these nostrels of mine.
  13. Thanks for the effort DJuice.
