  1. We're absolutely Dier at the moment...
  2. Quite a common sneaky sale tactic I've seen quite a few times... slap 650b wheels on a 26" bike and sell it as a 650b Not ayoba
  3. It can vary hugely depending on many factors... 1000km is heading towards the upper limit though and it's probably a good idea to look at replacing them. Some people do push shoes to 1500km though... Some factors to consider: Being heavier takes more of a toll on shoes. Some shoes aren't designed to last long... the racier lightweight shoes in general. Where you run and your foot strike can also affect things... Good luck and welcome to the club
  4. Sorry Mattie... that sucks. I do hope it's nothing major I'm not far behind you on the bench as well though if it makes you feel any better Got a scan on the 10th (my birthday of all days, but it was the first opening when I booked two weeks ago for the lady who is apparently the best in the business) Seems I might have a tear in my achilles... an old touch rugby injury that's never been allowed to heal properly. May well have been the root cause of all my issues around my calf/soleus/achilles these years I have been running I'm actually excited in a weird way, even if it means a moon boot for a couple months - just so desperate to have some proper answers
  5. Had two very easy transactions the last two weeks... That said, I think taking away the comments is a big miss - it was a core part of the honesty system here on the hub... we're a community and we can't look after the classifieds if we can't have any input. I know the system might have been abused at times, but if people can come on here and sell things in questionable condition at questionable prices, or even worse, fake goods... the hub needs to be able to look after it's own. My 2 cents
  6. Well, we do have Moaninho acting like it's impossible for us to make top 4... I'm already struggling with this guy and his antics.
  7. My first advice would be to buy a cheaper one and see if you actually use it... There are also a lot of 'as new' second hand ones out there for this exact reason. OneDayOnly also has nice Reebok ones on quite regularly - I've got one and it performs really well, but like the tone of this post suggests... it still gets used a lot less than I envisioned.
  8. I'd agree with you if I thought other teams were strictly abiding by them and that Uefa was applying the rules and punishments fairly to all clubs... I can see CAS kicking this into touch and the Facade that is FFP being binned - hopefully for something more sensible.
  9. I'd actually love it if City win the Champions league... screw Uefa and their half baked/half applied rules Nice read on Gary Nevilles views on FFP... basically put, FFP if applied like Uefa want it, would pretty much just ensure the status quo in football is always maintained. That's anti-competition and anti pretty much everything we love about sport. There is merit in protecting clubs 'from doing a Leeds', but there are better ways to go about it. Chasing money away from the game is not necessary https://www.skysports.com/football/news/29326/11937094/gary-neville-on-financial-fair-play-and-man-citys-appeal
  10. Its painful watching Spurs at the moment... got a bad feeling it's going to be a long end to the season
  11. If anyone is looking for a Two Oceans Ultra entry, let me know... sadly have to face reality that it's not viable this year. Still not allowed to run and I'm not throwing myself at a qualifier with zero miles in the bank again... 1 x OMTOM, Ultra entry, 1 careful injury plagued lady owner... and I might even throw in a couple extra free km's
  12. The way Gerda is running, I would have taken it off the website the moment it was clear the incentive was not feasible
  13. In their defense, everyone knows they do not currently have the funds for such a carrot... so no need to rub salt in their wounds. But in the same breath... not all that hard for them to just remove it from the website and clear up any confusion... All very strange
  14. Fear not, we've been graciously allowed to book an expo stand... all it took was several phone calls and emails, some of which even eventually got a response. I do hope this is all just a temporary malaise as the event transitions... it's a brilliant iconic event and it would be tragic for it to fall away...
  15. With how difficult it has been just to get an expo stand booked this year, I would just about be happy to work on rumors...
  16. I tip my hat to you Cois... you're a legend! Keep it up, keep trucking on!
  17. Eish... played the whole game pretty much with it broken it seems. We're definitely thin on fire power up top now as Kane's still out for some time. We've got a brillliant youngster Parrot in the wings... but he's very young, 17 I think, tough ask, but you just never know.
  18. Except this wasn't on a treadmill in an air-conditioned room? The advantages he had were pacers the whole way and the pace car... no slip from the car, the distance was set us such, so just the slip of fellow human beings. Which he would also have for a large portion of a marathon in any case... How much advantage was that on his physical effort... not enough to laugh off this feat in my books, but I sense we can just agree to disagree on this one.
  19. Hundreds of world records set in sports yearly... how do you choose one sport? The sub 2 though, albeit an artificial attempt of sorts, defied what people had even thought was physiologically possible. It's an incredible feat to break any world record, but what Eliud did, was take 2 seconds off the world record, every kilometer, for 42.2 kilometers. It's going to be an iconic moment in all sport for a long time. It's quite possibly going to change the landscape of long distance running forever... Hamilton, drove the fastest car to victory... his team mate was second overall. We don't even know if he's the best driver of the year in all honesty... Messi, won the Spanish league with Barcelona in historically one of the worst seasons in La Liga history. It's no brainer for me, but I am obviously also biased, as are we all
  20. Running sadly not a glam sport... in terms of pedigree he's probably on par with Messi, but Messi didn't do anything earth shattering last year... and Hamilton, give me a break, give the award to the car, we all know that is pretty much how it works. Meh
  21. Think about it this way... Saints get a proper backer, you stop selling all your best players, keep hold of your many brilliant academy graduates, sign a few class additions to fill the gaps and start competing for Europe like you probably deserve to... instead of losing all your players and fighting tooth and nail each year to stay in the prem. The horse has bolted, ages ago... money is in the league and it's not going anywhere. At least give the teams who missed the big jump in professionalism a fair chance to get themselves on a par with the top tier of teams
  22. I agree in some ways, but I'm also pretty certain they aren't the only ones doing it... Cities record signing is De Bruyne for 55mil, that's not even in the top 20 most expensive players. They've bought smart for the large part... quality at the right price. Just as a quick example, how are Inter suddenly affording all these players they've just reeled in? They've had no success of late to boost the coffers... many of the big Italian clubs walking a lovely tight rope with their debt - they've even got more than my Spurs who just spent near on a billion on a stadium. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes%27_list_of_the_most_valuable_football_clubs City are just upsetting the grand order, just like Chelsea did with Abramovich... I'm happy to see it, even as a Spurs fan for whom a 5th place Champions league spot might prove pretty useful.
  23. Football is a business... big business. It's been that way for decades. You can't stop that... People may long for the purity of the good old days, but they'll still watch Champions League over the Championship 99 times out of 100 FFP is a farce... selectively applied and largely designed to keep the big teams on top. I hope City's lawyers end this delusion once and for all. Where was all this FIFA red tape when Barca and Real were state funded? Barca ran as a tax free entity for decades until recently... they can take all their sanctimonious BS and stick it where the sun don't shine.
  24. Hard luck... .the jump from 21km to a marathon is massive. Always try do some incremental distances between beforehand to get your body and mind prepared... OMTOM qualifying closes 9 March unless I am mistaken, so West Coast would be too late unless I have the wrong info.
