  1. Picked up our Duke 390 on Saturday afternoon. Rode it home and it is a nippy little bugger. Comfy but definitely not made for highways unless you install a screen of some sorts for the wind but it won't leaving you feeling vulnerable speed wise. Should serve us well, wife will be using it to practice and get her license before we sell it on, more than likely. I have chatted with a guy who says his son did 125000km on one with zero issues so seems they are pretty reliable given that you do your part and maintain it.
  2. Just use a good 2T oil and you should be good to go.
  3. Would love to see the process of making this, like a time-lapse video, hint-hint;)
  4. I think looking at stats from the last year is pointless. The branch in Pretoria, Manila and China were all closed due to volume of visa applications dropping, which is directly linked to the border closures. I would look at things very differently given those facts. Fact is, skilled labour, if not accessible on shore, will always be sought after. They are definitely cutting back, but for the more "menial" occupations like store managers, plumbers, etc. I say menial with utmost respect to those trades, they are over-subscribed though. It all comes down to your individual skillset and demand at the end of the day....... This is based off of my personal experience, I am no immigration agent though. Just an employee, with an employer in NZ patiently waiting for me, fighting my case along with an immigration agency also fighting our case. The blanket border policy is what it is, it is why we decided on NZ as a country to pursue. They look after their citizens so no issues, just frustrating from the other side.
  5. Thee most comfortable chairs ever, if done right. They look good.
  6. Seems to be the going rate yes. Lots of low mileage examples around. That one is neat. You do need to check them well though, lots of beginners start on them so I have seen a few now with damage from small fall overs. Looks like a bike people move upwards from fairly quickly. Bigger is better and all.......
  7. That was the one with the big a$$ fan to create downforce right? Will Google it now.
  8. Looking into getting a Duke/RC390. Anybody have any experience on them?
  9. Wondering what you guys have seen or heard about trickle chargers and insurance claims. With all these museums burnings of late, I have heard of assessors declining claims based on trickle chargers being used. This is obviously for claims due to fire. Does seem like a grey area as a friend in the insurance industry said he has had successful fire claims where they were used. So perhaps down to how they are used, makes, etc.....
  10. Thanks for the info Dave and Patches. Definitely sounds like a good system that would 100% not work in SA.
  11. Fixed it for you.....
  12. How does the car market work there, btw. I see a vehicle must have a WOF and then you pay registration per year. I believe the WOF must be renewed yearly, or 2 yearly if it is a new car. So similar to a UK MOT then? I also heard you don't get the actual papers, it is held on the system. Is this true?
  13. Really nice read, and I understand fully where you are coming from. The housing market is very scary but I think in general there seems to be a move away from people wanting to own property, at least the younger generation who lease cars for example. It will be a number of years before we will be in ay position to purchase a property, but we will work towards it. I do believe there is some disinformation around the vaccines. I believe that many people think it will make them immune or not able to transmit and this is very dangerous. Other than that, I am on the same page as you. Strange times we live in......
  14. I can only go off of information in the media where it would appear that most countries are having issues with the side affects and related deaths with the vaccines. I think will go off topic very quickly because it comes down to personal opinions on the virus itself, the "pandemic" and how it is being handled. I 100% agree, an educated assumption though, given the information out there. Some of which does need to be taken with a pinch of salt I will say That being said it has been widely documented that the farming community, for one, is struggling without their seasonal workers. I know personally of a company unable to complete their scope of work, yet skilled labour is unable to enter the country to assist. This company does work in healthcare facilities, MIQ facilities, etc, so directly linked to preventing and fighting outbreaks........
  15. Still available?
  16. Imagine how uncomfortable that treatment is to the big C if it is making you this uncomfortable. You just need to keep up your strength and only good things will come from this....
  17. I suppose I see it from the perspective that you are saving lives but at what future expense. By all accounts the vaccines seem to be doing very little. Your borders will need to open at some point in time or the country faces financial ruin due to their dependency on migrants. So I suppose my bigger question is what is the long term strategy? Perhaps my bias is creeping in but that is understandable I would think.
  18. I am obviously of a biased opinion, but I would say the Covid strategy is not really working. Yes the numbers are low and deaths are being curbed but it will not stop a virus. I saw an article yesterday where they have conducted studies on blood donors in SA, testing for anti-bodies, and using the data they can confirm that at least 50% of RSA's population has had Covid. That puts the recovery numbers into a better perspective.
  19. Went from a MMR to a MRI
  20. Cocaine comes standard?
  21. Honestly think it will be his last year.
  22. Quick question, what can be used to etch steel when knife making, besides FeCl3??
  23. is it really a successful project if it does not go over budget.......
  24. After Russell's performance in the same car, driving it for the first time, I would say Merc was very much in the drivers seat. We don't really need you as much as we thought, take it or leave it attitude.
  25. I wonder if there is a clause with Russell's name mentioned......... Still believe this was all a PR stunt.
