  1. It was not, but in your case I would say a rating on the sellers character would not be out of place. Might be against this "unspoken rule" that came to the fore yesterday. Never heard of it before.
  2. Communication, I feel, is a key part of any transaction. If my rating will help someone to not waste their time in the future then that is a positive for me. While waiting you may pass on other bikes, and in doing so lose out on those bikes too. I just feel I would want to know before hand that there is a good chance that I might be wasting my time. The rating system is for specific sales BUT I believe it is also vouching for the person involved.
  3. It is a big decision, and as Wayne has said, with many compromises and tough decisions. I have a friend and his girlfriend in Tauranga, October will be a year in NZ for them. Her mom passed away last week, Covid related after stupid siblings willfully visited her while knowing they tested positive and she had comorbidity. Long story short, she is unable to travel to attend a funeral. These are the scenario's you HAVE to discuss before a decision is made. Many people are trapped off shore as they left for a vacation and got trapped in SA/India/UK, etc with the border closure. Many have been made redundant and now have to start from square one. Our decision is to not leave NZ until we acquire residency, and we have not even been able to start the journey due to the closures........
  4. I gave someone a 2 star rating yesterday after having the same experience. Ad says call/whatsapp so I mailed using the send message button. I then whatsapped. No response, so 2 days later I called, no answer. An hour later the ad gets removed. I am sorry, we don't need people like that in this community. Decency goes a long way in life......
  5. and 2 weeks later he fell, bent the plate and was out for a lot longer. But yes, that Assen ride was impressive however some would say the start of his mixed weather fears.......
  6. At a smidge under 180cm I have literally just ordered a 54cm, hoping that the fit will be fine. I am usually right between a medium and large on Mtb's. Ordered the 8 speed, and will buy a single speed kit off of Rapide. Are the standard bars uncomfortable, that why you went with the flared bars? Wish it was an option but at the price and now with a 20% discount, it really is a steal.
  7. Looking at the info and pics of Marc's arm I must say it is impressive he even got on the bike. He was trying on leathers, doing push-ups and riding a bike on Wednesday already, less that 24hrs after major surgery. He had to complete 40 push-ups as part of the fitness test on Thursday. Cal on Sunday was complaining about the after affects of the anesthetics, so that's in the mix too. All in all I can't wait to see the bikes around a different track. I understand the logistics around the double headers but it really skews the playing field a bit. Not saying the results weren't deserved, before I get roasted. I am expecting very different results from the next round in Brno. Yamaha's ailing engine situation aside, they are still wanting WRT power and top-end. Will be interesting to see how Fabulous Quarterpounder goes on a less flowy track. Also hoping Brad reins it in just a touch. He is talented but I think he needs to first finish. On the standings, Alex is rookie of the year at the moment........ Standings don't really care about how fast you were before you crashed. He is definitely a "win it or bin it" rider, just would hate to see him get hurt and ruin a very promising career before it has even started.
  8. Seeing lots of people who moved over with pets and now just cannot find accommodation that allows for pets. It would seem landlords are not happy to have pets including in leases.
  9. As an aside, a friend is rebuilding a DT50 and has procured original plastics. They are attainable, just need to know where? The theft issue, just insure it.......
  10. Had the same issue where my RD read 5j5 instead of sjs, easily fixed and as a dealer he will definitely have a "fixer" in his employ
  11. Jip, my friends BC is only just turned a year old now. Age has to be a factor. Imagine spending the money and they don't survive the trip......
  12. A friend is in the process of getting his border collie sent over, from PE to Tauranga. So far the bill is at R60k.
  13. Thinking of NMS had me looking if my laptop would run it, which was a no and now has me looking at a gaming laptop. Slippery slope.......
  14. I would rather buy the more expensive KTM 690/790 Enduro/adventure if the Tenere is more than R150K. It is a bit "dumbed down" in comparison to the KTM.
  15. What kettle are you using Ben?
  16. Must say, I will not miss ILG one bit. Professionally a liar, and looks like in his personal life too. Wow.......
  17. DO NOT try no man's sky either. Got stuck on a planet with no resources and spent 3 hours harvesting to be able to fuel a craft...... Man I loved that game......
  18. Unconfirmed reports that Alex is being used to harvest spare parts for Marc........
  19. Losing a bit of cash is least of his worries. Upsetting the son will probably upset his wife. Makes xmas awkward......
  20. Why not, it has a Merc engine in it........ @Myles, in response to your question, yes I had to ask the question. Sias answered it perfectly though so no worries in answering it
  21. And what is that context, just out of interest?
  22. Those Mercs are so far ahead, its like racing F1 against F2 cars.
  23. Honda is in big poo, Cal's been diagnosed with a fractured wrist and needs surgery too. So the only 2 guys able to ride the Honda are out. Glad Fabulous Quarterpounder got his first win, even if it is so that we can stop hearing about it coming EVERY second......
  24. Wait till the temps go up, separates the men from the boys I reckon. Great to see bikes on a track though!!!!!!
