  1. While reading through the latest Popular Mechanics I came across this bike. It looks like it has some very interesting design features and it sure looks like it would be a hoot to ride. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3686/10739847844_fbf29e5052_b.jpg Here is a link to the website http://caterhambikes.com/ These bikes are made by the same guys who build the Caterham 7 car - the replica of the Lotus 7.
  2. Looks that way...
  3. Um, I think everyone is missing the point that the more expensive watermelon is the older stock.
  4. Thanks Morpheus, now I need a cappuccino.
  5. Here's the link: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/save-cafe-roubaix Yes I know it's not a lot but still an extra odd 23k would not go down too badly!
  6. Just a little side thought, what about all the funding that was being raised for his legal defence? The way I understood it was working is that it all went straight through to him as it came in and not that they would wait until the 150000 dollars had been raised.
  7. That's amazing! I guess that pilot has done that more than once or twice.
  8. I know that thinners removes sealant. Just put some on a cloth and wipe. I'm not sure what it will do to the paint (you will have to test a small area) I have completely cleaned the inside of a tyre of all it's old dried sealant like this and the end result was the rubber looked like brand new.
  9. Another easier option is to saw the very end of the of the lug off so that you only remove the closed part that the cable housing stops against. This can be done very slowly and carefully with a hacksaw or angle grinder if you are brave enough. One can tape a pice of thin metal like a pice of a jam tin to the frame just at the point where the saw would touch if it slips off.
  10. Flip man it takes me off guard every time - Just scrolling through some cool pics on the hub and then BAM - suddenly there's Burry and I have to do a double take. Still can't believe he's gone - I get a lump in my throat just typing this.
  11. The video is supposed to be demonstrating how easy it is to reverse the trucks in a straight line with their new steering control system - even on an articulated truck.
  12. Last one - Margate beach
  13. We really do get some beautiful afternoon skies in the midlands
  14. Sunrise over PMB before the start of the Hill2hill from World's View
  15. After the rain on Saturday
  16. Any LBS that stocks Ryder products should have them otherwise they will be able to order them for you.
  17. I just use the Ryder spds and at 300g a pair and R500 bucks they win both ways! EDIT: Oh yes, they also have a lifetime guarantee! http://www.rydercycling.co.za/Graphics/Pedals/SPD%20BI%20PEDAL.jpg
  18. That's good to hear. You shouldn't be charged any extra then.
  19. One thing I can say is that those Kore xcd sl wheels are bullet proof. I have been absolutely thrashing mine this whole year with my 110kg backside on them and they still run perfectly true. I'm not sure the crest rims would still be turning by now with the abuse I have put them through.
  20. Ag nee man, what happened - did you bunny-hop another brick on the pavement?
  21. Nice one Nige! How much did SARS demand of your your retirement funds for it or was it just the VAT?
  22. The biggest drawback with this option is that you lose a lot of top end speed. The gearing of a road crank set is so much bigger. So where your big blade on the mtb is usually a 42 tooth the road bike has a 52+ big blade. Also the rims of a road bike and a 29er are the same size but the overall circumference with the skinny road tyre on is much smaller than the mtb tyre thus going less distance for each revolution of the wheel. The upshot is that it works, but you end up spinning out at quite a low speed.
  23. I see in the small description that the Amashova shirt is made from or has something called "birdseye moisture management" Perhaps that contributes to the fantastic price?
  24. I think a fair price would be between R120 and R150. And besides which what about getting the sponsors to chip in say 5 or 10 bucks each per shirt and that will also bring the cost down. We are after all walking around advertising for all the sponsors of the race that are on the race t-shirt.
