  1. These should be a few good options. Any hubbers out there with the necessary skills to build one? http://wtfbot.net/pix/1851.png http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/4500/aafmm.jpg
  2. Ha! My wife actually found this exact book at our local spca shop and bought it just because it was so funny!!!
  3. Aha, not that I would wear one anyway. I just thougt it odd that the epic guys would make a custom order of this kit and then not take all of the kit that they ordered from craft.
  4. I hear what you are saying but then why do they sell these jerseys if the general public shouldn't be wearing them?
  5. I'm sorry I couldn't get a picture of it but I was driving up quite a steep hill the other day and on the other side I saw what looked like a delivery guy on a dikwiel fiets with a huge cardboard box mounted in an expanded metal frame on the front of the bars, but what made me laugh was to see the guy in a full-on aero tuck, getting as low as possible on the bike and as far as I could see he had a massive grin on his face as he flew down the hill. It made me realise that it's not really about the bike that you're on but rather the fact that you are on a bike with the wind in your hair. At that moment I wished I could be out riding my bike instead of driving to see a client.
  6. Eish. Sorry to hear about that. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for it.
  7. I think that Martin will take it for sure. The way he was mashing that 58tooth blade in the tdf made it look like that rainbow stripe zipp disc had an electric motor inside.
  8. Have you tried SAA cargo? They are realy well priced for local stuff and it is same day service. I sent a 4,5kg parcel from pmb airport to lanseria for R160 and it only took 3 hours from when i dropped it off to when the guy collected it in joburg. The only drawback is you have to go to the airport to drop off and collect. I am not sure if they do international stuff though.
  9. Does that mean that I am also not allowed to sell old reconditioned pianos with ivory keys?
  10. Seeing as the OP stated that it came via the post office I don't think there are any disbursement/ clearing fees other than the usual R25 or R35 that the post office usually charges. Therefore, there must be some sort of error in this case if the fees are anything over the 67odd% that has been mentioned by others.
  11. Since this is a cycling forum, how about this for an acceptable version of a Harley? http://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/moto_gallery/HARLEYDAVIDSONNo-1Harley-2038_1.jpg
  12. This is my contribution. Bought it on Ebay for 700 ZARS for my 25th birthday. It took a few weeks to get used to having on my belt by now, 8 years later, if I ever forget to "put it on" in the morning I keep thinking like I have forgotten something and it leaves one with a strangle feeling of nakedness! Oh and that s30v blade is simply fantastic! I don't think a day has ever gone by where I haven't used it for something. Edit: Oh yes, and it also has titanium which always makes something better!
  13. I must say that red lense idea has crossed my mind on more than 1 occasion.
  14. Eish, no need to get aggressive with the guy when he was just trying to offer some helpful advice based on his passed experiences. After all is that not part of what thehub is supposed to be?
  15. It does seem like this is the only legit way to do it.
  16. Wow, guns and fire at night make for some really cool photos!
  17. The real reason we like our bikes to be lighter is because of the effort required to lift it onto the bike carrier at the end of a tough race.
  18. I'm with you on this one. As an apples v apples tool I reckon it would be pretty consistent providing you enter your details correctly like your body weight etc. In terms of comparing the results to an actual power meter I recon it might be a bit off. The place where it is most accurate is on a constant gradient climb. Where it does go very wrong though is on downhill sections. Taking that into account, the average power figures for a whole ride will be wrong because of all the downhill sections. It is however a good indicator of average power on uphill sections.
  19. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Yup. Just checked my bank statement. I put in R400.09 worth of diesel on the 4th of July 2012 at Vaal 1 stop west. It is actually the one on the south bound side of the N3. I was heading back to the midlands after delivering a piano to cowteng.
  21. Yay! That's my picture at number 19. I took it at the engen 1 stop just past yhe Villiers toll gate.
  22. I've never even bothered to weigh my road bike. I figure anything less than 10% of my body weight (or 10.8 kg) is plenty light enough for me.
  23. I've found that commuting just doesn't work for me. The thing is that I get to work before I have even managed to get both feet clipped in. (one of the very few problems of having my workshop in my garage at home)
  24. Nico, I see your point. Say for example I bought a complete bike online and it was advertised as having an XT brake set and upon receiving said bike there was only a front brake on the bike I would be mad. So I am with you on this one that the advert was misleading. Better wording would have been "SINGLE brake set"
