  1. The guarantee on a bike does not as far as I am aware have any conditions such as service intervals etc. The way it should be is that said manufacture warrants said device to be free of any defects for a set period. Surely the person who owns/ uses said device has no impact on its manufacturing quality.
  2. Surely the original (or a copy perhaps) receipt stating the bikes serial number and the date of purchase and the length of the guarantee would be sufficient?
  3. It looks like Sanjay has loaded up all the cement bags that were in stock at the local hardware store.
  4. That looks like a USA plug point to me.
  5. Thanks for getting us back on track I do like buternut but sheesh, that was getting a bit much.
  6. I have always used Joes sealant and have always had Maxxis tyres and (so far) have not had any problems with blisters. Also the sealant has never failed to perform it's job. I also find that the Joes doesn't seem to make those nasty snot balls like the Stans does.
  7. The plug is made of a type of rubberised string and is a little bit tacky. When it gets a bit of sealant on it then it usually stops the leak the instant you push it through the cut in your tyre. For bad holes where one doesn't quite do the trick I have used 2 at the same time and that seems to sort it out. I have ridden for over 2000km with one of these "worms" in my tyre and it has never given me any trouble.
  8. Yup, This is what you are looking for. It works fine without the glue but if you apply a little of the glue to the string before inserting it then it is sure to stay put. http://static.jensonusa.com/images/Default-Image/Zoom/314/TL266I00.jpg
  9. Unfortunately some people's OCD won't allow them to do that.
  10. I think the nail in the coffin would be having to carry 2 spare tubes.
  11. You would think that it might have some sort of advantage in steeper downhill sections to have a bigger wheel upfront in terms of keeping the bike more level thus keeping body weight more central over the bb. But climbing...eish I think it would be a bit tricky.

  13. Or at least his profile is locked - I wanted to see what all these other posts are that Admin referred to.
  14. And the Graveldonkey is no more...
  15. Apparently that v8 in the atom is 2 Suzuki hayabusa engines bolted together and tuned to push out 500bhp! Red lining at 10600rpm!!!

    Wheels 101

I know my front brake has a little air in the system and so long as I keep the rubber side down all is fine - if I turn the bike upside down the front brake will be spongy for the next few pulls of the brake and then it comes right. Yes, I know I need to get it bled but it's one of those things that you always seem to forget about as it still works.
  17. It would appear that the red flashing light is also obscured by the back wheel in this instance...
  18. That's good news! Glad it all held together and you were able to enjoy the ride.
  19. That would be about 5.3 times up Sani pass from the hotel to the top. Eish.
  20. Should be no more than around 30 minutes.
  21. It's interesting how the ratio has stayed pretty much the same from about the first 50 votes right up until now with over 420 votes.
  22. I think Checkers must surely win that race.
  23. Come on guys - admit it. How many of you secretly rode a "Makro special" at some point in your lives????
  24. Perhaps race organisers should come up with a method of marking race numbers on gel packets and when they do the clean up after the race just charge R50 per wrapper to the cyclist it belongs to. It probably would never work but it would be interesting to try it out.
