  1. Tom got suspension in the morning bike draw. Phil got the bike with the motor.
  2. I think Gen is right on this one. Wonder Boy rode into a barrier and caused the fall. Where was his start line wheelie when he needed it? The jacket played no part in bringing him down. From all the angles it looks like he hit the barrier legs that were firmly planted on dirt, not pave. The jacket only flew in rider 3 when he veered left to avoid GVA.
  3. I really enjoyed their tactics and show of force.
  4. What an interesting race. I'm surprised Gilbert can sit on a saddle. He has massive balls to jump at 55km. And bring it home.
  5. I'm saying QS more concerned about not helping Sagan to win than worrying about GVA winning. If they can't win themselves of course. I agree Durbridge tried to win. What else could he do once he'd made the selection? He was 1 in 4. Terpstra was 1 in 5 with 15 seconds on the chasers with 15km to go including team mates Stybar and Trentin trying to get back on terms. I guess that is the difference between the OS and QS, OS happy to go for 1 in 4, QS trying to make it 3 from about 14.
  6. It is indeed race day. I remember when we used to get all the Cannondale stuff from you. Now it's just kitchen equipment.
  7. Here you go Gen: PS: Enjoy your not L’Étape South Africa bike ride tomorrow.
  8. No indication DSTV has live women's race coverage:
  9. I was hoping I had found the perfect sock. Short for when I'm riding with the ability to pull them up if a poseur enters the tea shop.
  10. Maybe out new police minister will sort this stuff out rather than making pool videos and promoting men of no integrity and honesty to leadership/senior positions. Then again his track record in sports is pretty deserving of a big promotion. Not.
  11. I remember but there is no indication on any of the streams.
  12. Quick Step have decided a plan for Sagan. I'm sure they'll have a different plan for GVA in the next few Classics. Your use of Durbridge at DDV as an example just proves the point I tried to make about QS and Sagan. Firstly there was no Sagan being towed to the line and secondly 2 quicksteppers were in the final break with no Orica Scott rider in the bunch behind. Then 1st Gilbert jumped and Lampaert sat on. When Durbridge and Lutsenko brought Gilbert back, Lampaert made the winning move. While Gilbert sat on. I'm pretty sure that had Sagan been in a 4 man break with 2 quicksteppers their tactics would have been similar to get rid of him.
  13. I'd love to see the women's races too.
  14. Interesting "attack" on QuickStep tactics by the hub as the Long haired wide boy bitches about Terpstra And then Gen answers her own and some other's questions as to what the quick steppers have been playing at. And 'Dale confirms the escalation of hostilities The oldest adage in bike racing is no one can help you win a race but lots can make you lose it. Quick Step have clearly decided, with their superior Classics roster, that their 1st priority is to increase their own chance of beating Sagan to the win, not through a one on one but by having options in the break. We all know Sagan will win from a small bunch sprint. Well all except Kwait. So QS tactics are very simple. Get in the break, if Sagan is there and we have 1 rider, sit up. See how much he wants to win. Give our other guys the best chance of coming across. If they don't make it we have the freshest guy in the break. How can anyone criticise a team for wanting to increase their chance of winning knowing how strong Sagan is in a bunch sprint? Isn't racing about winning yourself and not dragging others to the win? We saw Spartacus have to handle this sort of racing for a few years. Now it is Sagan who must prove he can adapt to a hostile, anti Sagan strategy. Moaning about it to the press only reinforces that QS strategy is right. He is a double world champ. No one is going to give him a chance at the win if they can help it.
  15. First album I ever bought, mainly for this song. But they were all round great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUwEIt9ez7M Edit: How do I post the link so it shows that it's Deep Purple Machine Head I want you to watch?
  16. The problem with compulsory is that, let's say, your light fails and a motorist hits you then they can claim you are illegal and what recourse do you have? I agree we all should do it 100%, I try to, but compulsory has it's drawbacks.
  17. If I was concerned by opinions I'd not wear or ride what I do. But any motorist who denies seeing me is either lying or has their head up their arse. The rules are for the adherence to by fools and the guidance of the wise.
  18. The only sock. Too long though.
  19. I picked this up lumo reflective strip from the French safe cycling guys when I met them on the TDF in 2015. I wear it when out and sun not bright enough, in addition to my flashing rear and front lights. It is effective as seen from the flash. PS: It's darker and colder now. Long socks acceptable as doesn't affect the tan lines.
  20. A flashing strobe light above 400 lumens not dimmed, so about 200 lumens when on dim, is both unnecessary and dangerous and should be outlawed. It does not illuminate the road but just blinds oncoming traffic. Only very stupid people use these bright flashing strobe lights on the front. They actually have no idea about safety. Strobe is good. Bright strobe is bad. And have a rear red strobe. Bright as you want but make sure it has a pattern, not static or regular flash. It's the movement that attracts a motorist's attention. Have a bright light to illuminate the road by all means, point it where you are riding to show up potholes and obstacles. Do the right thing. Reflective stuff is good too. It never has to be recharged. Remember the danger is almost always from behind you so focus on the back part of your legs and shoes that move the most.
  21. Sagan picking up a bit of flak for this https://twitter.com/haseveleon/status/846009277592539136/video/1 and his post race dummy spit.
  22. Every day good news for cycling fans http://tiz-cycling.racing/live-stream/
  23. And I'm stuck with a whole lot of 680mm in stock. Who would have thought.
  24. This on the other hand is a new level of coolness.
  25. How could a guy who clearly has taste then post this? Am I a brand snob or drop bar snob, not sure of myself with such conflicting sentiments in a thread.
