  1. jus trein? But that won't be enough to ride a single on that track. What happened with the Dangle vs The Treiner duel at Attakwas?
  2. I'd like to find some wheel clamp arms for a bike rack, the type that secure the bike by it's wheels rather than the frame. Basically mount the bike, swing the arms up front and back and clamp. Not need to lock as they are in my enclosed trailer. I'd like individual ones rather than the industrial type we see on the commercial bike trailers we see transporting bikes to races. Anyone make such a beast? Or knows someone?
  3. Fizik is the only one to get. Just wash with soapy water when dirty. Last same as any other colour.

  5. Lucky cookies are per PC, not per user! I love these silly vote once rules, after all rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men!
  6. Any knowledge on whether or not there are neutral water points on the course other than at 34km (SOILL Rehydration Zone) and the Esky handover at 63km (Feed station)? From what I can find out there are the support zones where your car can feed you but nothing by way of water or coke tables. Am I wrong?
  7. .Red for the 1st time...
  8. I read that it is a compulsory portage zone with disqualification for riding but I can't find that bit now. Thank goodness my new bike is a made for portage at 6.7kg!
  9. 12-36 perhaps? SRAM website doesn't list a 11-36 1050, but Cape Cycle Systems local price list does? Go figure. SRAM PG-1050 CASSETTE 10SP 11-32T SRAM PG-1050 CASSETTE 10SP 12-36T SRAM PG-1050 CASSETTE 10SP 11-26T SRAM PG-1050 CASSETTE 10SP 11-36T edit: table
  10. Which is mainly the reason for it being lighter, the extra metal for the 36 teeth. 1050 is 299 grams (11-32T). The PG-1070 (359 grams 12-36) will also last longer than either the XG-1080 (239 grams) or XG-1099 (208 grams 11-36) versions too at a marginal weight gain. It's a no brainer. Although some will find the extra 151 grams over the XX - XG-1099 an unbearable penalty.

  12. As built with Red and EA90 SLX inclusive of saddle and Look pedals: R 43k with lifetime frame warranty, swap out in 5 days. Carbon cRR frame with105 with EA50 wheels would weigh approximately 7.7kg and would be R27k all inclusive with with lifetime frame warranty, swap out in 5 days. And then there are all the groupset options between those 105 and Red, including Di2 as frame is compatible.
  13. Yes, built it up last week, ready for DC

  15. I have built a dual suspension 29er. And the end result is stunning. Completed K2C in PB and Wines2Whales was a breeze. I have extra frames in stock, I offer instant shipping and a 5 day frame replacement warranty if you are interested in building one yourself. Of course, I have complete bikes too.
  16. It's actually very easy to do. All you need is the Lefty with the right axle to crown height for your frame and a "lefty for all adaptor" or the adaptor from Project321 (which I happen to import!). Fit the headset, fit the adaptor (either straight 1 1/8th or tapered) and fit the lefty. Oh, and get a front wheel with a lefty hub. And enjoy the lightest and plushest fork on the market.
  17. DC, Burger then a little rest before riding to watch Dangle on his SS take on the trainer dude at Attakwas on Jan 19 to see who the real Meneer is....
  18. I'll build you a carbon road bike, carbon bars and seatpost, Shimano 105 with Easton EA50 wheels, Fizik saddle and bartape for R20,000. All you have to do is add your pedals and ride... Weight is about 7.2kg, size dependant. PM me for details.
  19. I'm looking for the same, anyone have any knowledge of a 20 hole front road hub?
  20. The new goya-goya?
  21. You might have to get off the big blade once or twice!

There was a lot of very dry rocky ST, I would recommend a tyre with snakeskin as a safety measure. Saw lot's of teams fixing flats, some had to return to the water points for new tyres. The winners of the Vets were on Rocket Rons, for day 3 after having grip issues with Maxis Ikons on days one and two.
  23. That would be great but but unrealistic. There are a few guys worldwide who are great on the Lefty, Craig at Mendon does more than his fair share of Lefty work in the US because the lbs is either not capable or interested. Pity. But true. IMO the fork is worth the hassle of sending it somewhere to be serviced. I agree on the wheel issue though, lbs can replace spokes, nipples and true a wheel.
  24. Problem right at the start with any formulae based heart rate: 210 minus a few numbers means my heart rate will be less than 210. My actual is 209 so either I have no age or no weight.
