  1. So tonight was my first night out with my new lights.. I should of bought a good light a lot sooner as I really did not know night riding was so exciting! Just a pity that at about 19:00 and 14kms from home both mine and my buddies lights VREK  Had to ride with my tail light in my mouth to add some sort of light to the ride. Bottelary hills was never this scary, EVER! I felt like Bear Grylles with a RED LED LIGGIE! Awesome ride but Defnetly NOT something i'll be doing any time soon. Non the less we made it.. now to put the battery on charge HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  2. As requested topfuel Not the greatest quality but you get the picture The higher you're able to mount the rear light the longer the beam becomes. The LED's shining back towards the cars are FLIPPEN potent
  3. Now I am ready for the dark 2000lumen from www.extremelights.co.za is the shiznit! The lazy tail light is also very visible, pity the lazy beams not as bright/prominent as shown on uTube clip of it. Will be testing soon, CPT weather super CAC at the moment Non the less, THANK YOU Hannes, GREAT STUFF
  4. So its that time of the year when the sun decides to be a party pooper and leave before we're able to get in some decent miles I'm looking at getting one of the following: http://www.extremeli...-2000-3xt6-cree or http://www.extremeli...cree-xml-t6-led What do you guys think? I need the light for about 1.5hours of "dark/skemer" riding, as I'm normally able to get on the bike by say 17:30 and will ride till about 19:30 Will the 2000 lumen be a bit too much? 1200 lumen too little? All opinions welcome lekker aand vir julle almal verder I forgot to mention, this is for MTB riding, single track/forest/bos etc
  5. Awe RiZA You can join me, I've got a leka tow rope . I think the training you've been doing will be ok, YOU'LL SURVIVE Tokai the weekend? we need some distance in these legs
  6. Price is defnetly WRONG A brand new 2012 XTC 29er(Silver with blue stickers) will set you back R16k @ cyclosport kuilsriver or R17K at citycyles 2012 Giant XTC composite 29er 1 will set you back R17.5K And no I dont work for a bike shop..just been shopping around myself.. hopefully she'll be here by next week
  7. My BRU, where'd you get the titan for that CHEAP?! Cheapest in CPT in R15k straight
  8. Personally I feel standover height is important..unlike on a road bike you mount/dismount alot more while on a mtb. Theres numerous times you want to dismount without having to climb off the bike. I'm 181cm tall and test rode the merida BIG9 TFS XT 19" and I've got ample standover clearance, on the titan 29er PRO 19"(slanting top tube) my standover height is only abt 1/3 of the merida. That is a bit off putting because if I were to go for the small frame to help with standover height, my seat post would be out waytoo far even when running a 350mm post I think the best would be test ride the bikes and see what fits, on paper nothing seems to be the same : anyone know when the 2013 AXIS A10 will be available? ON PAPER IT SEEMS AS IF THIS BIKE WILL FIT ME BETTER, HAHAHAHAHAH
  9. All I can say...DYNAMITE COMES IN SMALL PACKAGES.. theyre defnetly not the biggest store around but Eloff and his team with give other stores a run for their money. ALWAYS friendly and willing to go the EXTRA mile Once again, BIG-UPS to them
  10. Have a look at these 2 aswell http://www.silverbacklab.com/2011_website_SILVERBACK/vida3_13.htm at around R8K http://www.silverbacklab.com/2011_website_SILVERBACK/vida4_13.htm at around R6.5K What is your budget? Goodluck with the shopping
  11. Howzit! The Vida 3 and 4 are out as of last week, my LBS cannot give exact dates on when the rest will be available If I remember correctly vida4 is R7k and vida3 is R8.5k...as ek nou mooi kan onthou I'm hoping the rest of the range arrives ASAP
  12. So does this mean the vida 1 will be avilable as from the end of this month? I was at my LBS and they told me that the vidas will only be available as from mid-end December :cursing: Bang for buck theres nothing that comes close to the silverback, also looked at the titan 29er PRO which should be here by the 20th of this month What to do, What to do
  13. What what what :w00t: Those are sick prices  anyone know when they'll be available to us mortals? In need of a bike ASAP
  14. Hey hubbers Any one been to the silverback launch lastnight? Any news on pricing and availability? Awesome Sunday to all of you
  15. Good on you Silverback!!!! You know the prices of the vida range perhaps?? When will these beauts be available :whistling:
  16. So does this mean you guys stock momsen now? any heads up on 2013 range accept for 629&129? Keep up the good work
  17. I'm in the same boat bru TOO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM 2013 Axis A10 = +-13k 2013 Titan 29er Pro, best specced = TBA tho and for 17.5K you can get a carbon momsen sl629 Anyways..maybe some patience will yield a better result...as you wont be the only one stil waiting
  18. I'm sitting in exactly the same boat...and its a k@k boat at that. Have a look at this that I've posted http://www.thehubsa....s-momsen-al529/ Should give you an idea whats good for about R15k I think the biggest problem is being spoilt for choice and I stil get that "mine is bigger thatn yours" feeling so you don;t want to make a mistake with buying the "wrong" bike.. Take a look at the Axis A10 2013, they saying it should come in at around the 13K mark which leaves you with some cash for a tjooplis setup and a leka computer for around 15k. On the other hand I can get a 2012 Giant xtc 29er 1 for 13K with similar spec to the Axis..the Giant is a "better" made frame, it boils down to which bikes geometry will suit me better. Also silverback is having their launch in cpt on the 6 oct..got an invite, this should be interesting..like the look of their new 27.5's but yet again a spanner is being thrown in the works :whistling: also I've seen that they've "downgraded" from 2012 so their bikes would have to come in cheaper than this year. I'm also waiting for Titan to launch their 29er PRO..bike looks sick and is AWESOMELY specced. Momsen is launching an SL629 in October for around 17.5K..not specced as good as the other 15K jobbies but its got a carbon frame, take a look http://www.momsenbik....cfm?prod=sl629 That said waiting another 2 weeks is not gona kill or atleast I hope it doesnt Goodluck..I'll be following your posts
  19. Howsit hubbers! I'm searching for a new bike..its been 6weeks already but ja I've stumbled across the Axis A10 and i must say the 2013 model looks like something special. http://www.axis-bike...dtail/a-10-29er Does anyone have the current A10? any reviews good or bad would be appreciated. According to Tread mag May/June 2012 this bike really is something as it completed the 2012 Epic. The 2013 model should retail for about 13K.. is this good value or a k@k buy ? I can get the Giant xtc 1 29er for 13K.. What you guys think?
  20. Awe!! my LBS is cyclosport....3rd in the country mos have not got their number but you'll get it on the net.. I'm still in search of "THE ONE" but I'll keep you guys posted PS... I HATE IT WHEN SUPPLIES GIVE YOU A DATE OF ARRIVAL AND THEN ITS ALL FOR SPEC AND BOONTJIES EK WAG NOGSTEEEDS
  21. I think the biggest problem with looking for a "GOOD" bike for around R15K is that there is so damn much to choose from! and the fact that the arrival of the 2013 models are around the corner hasn't made life any easier!!!! New Axis A10: Reba, X9/X0 groupset, crappy wheels +- R13k New Titan 29er PRO: Reba, FULL XT, crest wheels +- R15K New Scott 940: +-R15.5K Looking at the new Silverback vida 1, MASSIVE downgrade IMO !! Reba, SLX/XT, crest wheels, I wouldnt pay more than R15K  As for giant, thats yet to be seen Merida big9 XT, Fox, full XT, merida wheels R16.5K What to do, what to do! and it seems like no one is ready to let the "older" 2012 models go at a cheaper price I'm going on 5 weeks without a bike, luckily the motjie is keeping me busy , in the gym I might add Lets see what happens in the next few weeks, once again I'm back to square 1
  22. Mornings all the people on the taxi! seeing that I dont have a bike to use Does anyone have info on the ETA of the new titan range? What is momsen doing for 2013????? Had another look at the scott 940....DANMMMMMM was tempted to get one as i could get it R2000 cheaper from a different LBS ;-). only thing thats a bit off putting is the fox fork, the guy said it needs to be serviced abt every 50 hours, is this true???? thats abt every 2.5 months, GEEEEEESSSSSSSAASSSSSSSS In anycase, I hope the new Ish arrives soon as the wait is killing me and the running is killing my knees! PEaCe
  23. I checked that ja..but the orange on the storm 2 looks like ASS..the storm has red in it which makes it faster ;-)hahaha
  24. @ AARON - I'm doing this purchasing on my student budget which im sure has made me spend more on petrol which I could of used to purchase a bike already. I've had a look now at the silverback storm 2...hehehehe, can I get the storm 2 but on the storm 1 frame? The reviews on the storm 1 sound really really positive and I'm sure it'll be more or less the same for the storm 2 as just the fork and groupset are different. Does anyone know where I can find the storm 2 for a good price? i think R22k(LBS) is a bit steep and way over budget The wait for the 2013 stock to arrive is driving me INSANE and its only been 10 days since my wait has started. CHOICES CHOICES CHOICES...and some MORE CHOICES
