Gotta love Phil....all the pizazz and drama of Murray Walker but without the need for facts The Phil and Paul show long ago stopped concerning themselves with little incidentals like facts, ....................so Yah, could be funny, but to me its just irritating.!

This years tour has been an absolute "yawner.!" Anyway, should we have expected more? I think so........, but unfortunately, it seems to me, gone are the days of the tour where individuals rode to race and win, todays GC contenders ride to manipulate the race and the final result, hense the yawn fest we have now. Give me the Giro d Italia anyday.

I must say I have been skipping over this thread because I thought it was the usual 'I had great service" opposed to "I had lousy service" type post. But, flicking through I see theres more to it than just that. In my opinion, it makes no differance when one brings a complaint to the publics attention, one day later, one year, later one decade later, many people just give up and say "to hell with it, I learnt from it and move on" however, that dos not mean they have no right to bring it up again at a later stage. It seems from the CA replies they never make mistakes or deliver inconsistantly finished product, which is terrific, must be a real feather in their cap as most other companies do have the odd blooper which they need to correct, so I am impressed,.............. but I would suggest that perhaps they need to think about investing in a public relations assistant to handle these type of queries - their responses remind me a bit of Mr De Villiers and the eye gouging issue.

I dont know, I pretty much use Prepsol as well for everything from cleaning my lawnmower to washing my bike. I personally cant see Prepsol doing any damage whatsoever, this is a very well respected product in industry, I see it used on hydraulic pumps and seals, engines and motors in my business daily, never an issue - actually, I do think I read a post here once where Mr Bornman actually recommended it as a good degreaser. I may be wrong, my memory is not as good as it used to be, maybe Mr Bornman will confirm or suggest otherwise, but if he thinks its fine I would suggest thats a good enough opinion, I have to be honest, I have come to respect his knowledge over the past year or so.

Quite correct lefty. Willie (the person) is not in question, its the business he just happened to own. Like it or not, it will be discussed and reviewed over coffee, in the office, on rides or here on the forum, theres nothing wrong with it and perhaps it can even be usefull to future or present enterprises. Not living in the Cape I only visited the centre a few times when on a business trip or visiting my vacation home just down the road, cant say I was ever very poorly treated, but certainly nobody fell over themselves to get my money. I thought it odd as there was firece competition 500metres down the road, but hey, what do I know.! Yes, an owner can put the business into liquidation, (ie) close the doors and negotiate a deal with all creditors - however the fact the sheriff was involved means this is unlikely to be the case. As a rule, the Sheriff only gets involved at the bitter end, and after all the legal proceedings (ie) eviction or locking the doors and securing the assets for auction. Its probably no consolation, but the centre is unlikely to be the last, this winter has just really kicked in and the recession is deep, summer is still 3 months away and a floundering bottom line now is a death knell. In any business now, cash is king - as Warren Buffet says "if ya dont have debt, ya cant go bust" - sage words indeed.

Diesels comment must rate amongst the most absurd I have ever heard. All business owners carry risk, some just manage it better than others. He obviously has an axe to grind, perhaps an ex employee?, I can understand his frustrations, perhaps he lost his job, its tough, I know, but nothing changes, I will still buy from the cheapest supplier (usually internationally) as BigH says, adapt or die its the simple answer. I look after my pocket first, I am sure Willie dos the same in what he buys.

A lot of people claim to have built a better "mousetrap" - few actually do.! Now dont get me wrong, I dont know the product,have never used it and for all I know may be the next best thing to the moon shuttle - but before I go out and spend my cash on this product you will need to tell me a lot more, a pic of a clean cluster aint gonna cut it. I assume you have a vested interest in promoting the product here for free, so perhaps, instead of posting pics that mean little, you could inform us a bit on what ingredient is in the degreaser that the worlds biggest names in degreasers - Wynns, Spanjaard etc dont have in theirs, what makes this one differant (and better). What are the concentrations of this ingredients in this product.? What product is in the chain lubricant that the others dont have, 400 miles plus between applications, hmmm......... thats a big number - wheres the proof! Is it enviromentally friendly (green) or will my radish plants start growing blue tops if the water run off reaches them.? Besides yourself, are there any other unbiased and verifiable referances. You see Bike Medicine, I have an issue with this kind of "ambush marketing" - on the weekend a very attractive young lass cornered me in the mall parking lot, she was selling a new miracle car engine degreaser, showed me a really messy engine componant, sprayed it with this product a quick wipe and of course the part was sparkling.............now we all know this kind of sales pitch, its hogwash, the product is sprayed with a varnish first, the oil never has time to bake on etc, etc, but a lot of folk fall for it, buy the goods and regret it at leisure. Of course, I am differant, a real tough nut, and naturally, I told her she was far to attractive and intelligent to be selling this con, but she flashed a coy smile, and, as I am an absolute push over for attractive, intelligent woman, I ended up buying the thing, which, was of course, completely useless,...... but to my credit, I really didnt have any greater expectations. ............Shame, seems it was not possible to survive the winter storm.? Personally, I think its just the beginning, winter is just starting and I would guess turnovers in the cycle shops are dropping so fast and hard you can hear them hit the floor. If the sheriff closed the doors as someone said, one can only assume its financial, people are often ashamed to say it didnt work, but this is a tough economy, no shame if you gave it your best. Sometimes it just dosnt work out, even with your best intentions.

Hmm, hardly kids Tiger, I see three men were arrested, youngest 23 and the eldest 32............if the news reports here are to be believed.! Its just a sign of the times though, and I agree justice will be slow and probably irrelevant, but I doubt its a vendetta against cyclists as some would like to promote, it could have been runners, roller skaters, whatever, they were going to shoot someone and it just happened they came across a bunch of cyclists first.!
