  1. Only "trail" I knew growing up near the Moffat was the storm drain down the side for skateboarding!!!!
  2. 50's fit fine.....
  3. I'm on the 50mm of these, great tyre, super rolling resistance on tar for a gravel tyre, great on moderate to heavy gravel, battles like any other gravel tyre when it gets rough and does well in light to moderate sand if running at about 2.5bar. One note, and same for most Pana's, seating a new tyre (tubeless), is a MAJOR biiiaaatch....don't bother with Joe Blow or Tank Blast...just get a bucket of CO2 cartridges and blast away....
  4. No brainer...the widest you can go...
  5. Don't forget Crazy Dave's Bikepark if you looking for some jumps, if its still open....De Stades Road Colleen Glen
  6. For roadies: And Seaview.... For Seaview, avoid the intersection of Buffelsfontein and 10th Ave, leave or return via Glendor Road thru Pari mPark/Mount Pleasant if you want to close the loop
  7. I was once warned about the section from River Road, Walmer into Settlers Park to the bridge at the bottom of Brickmaker's...any info on that section
  8. Baakens is heaps of fun...just make sure you go the right way round!!!🤣
  9. Hopefully they have graded that road by the time you get there...it was a washboard!!!😄
  10. This loop, it does include return on N2 unless you just turn and go back along same road...
  11. The Garmin twist system of the RTL515 works well so the unit connects securely to the mount but the mounting system to the seatpost is not very good and if you don't hook the rubber bands to the mount properly, it can slip off, hence, good idea for a tether. The newer RCT 715 has a new system based on other Garmin type mounts for their action cam and is rock solid with a cam lever to secure the unit into the mount and they have improved the seatpost mount altho it still uses rubber bands, they are easier to secure AND you can just cable tie the mount to your seatpost, something that you couldn't really do with the RTL515.
  12. Great support you got....but seeing this pic....looks like a reconstruction..."I was riding along minding my own business, in the middle of nowhere and this little car t-boned me....like this....."😔
  13. If its the old one, I used a GoPro surfboard mount with tether...trimmed it to fit and stuck it to back of unit, with the loop of the tether connected to a tiny carabiner hanging from seat rails ...the new one uses the same fitting as the Garmin VIRB ULTRA 30 camera, it is very secure!!!...you can cable tie the seatpost mount to the seatpost if you want, cable ties included in package
  14. Yes. you can thread some nylon thread thru the "ears" of the GoPro style mount.... I use a wrist tether looped over the mount.
  15. I have the new one...RCT 715, it does not have this "braking" feature...pity, it was a bit of a missed opportunity
  16. Scary to upload and see how fast some drivers are going past you!
  17. Garmin rear light will flash according to the profile you set it at, but as soon as a car is detected, it will pulse brightly and rapidly for a few cycles then revert back to the set profile. (steady ON (HIGH Intensity, NONE Flash), NIGHT flash (HIGH, SLOW), DAY flash (MAX, OCCASIONAL), PELETON Flash (MODERATE, NONE)) One request that has not been addressed from the Garmin Beta community is the BRAKING function...ie irrespective of mode, the light will go HIGH MAX SOLID when breaking...not sure the unit has an accelerometer built in tho'......
  18. Garmin FTW....nuff said...
  19. Enjoying the empty streets before the madness begins...
  20. Ahhh, never paid much attention to those gates...now imagine the chaos if you were on my handle bars and we were going down to check out the Hoek!!!!???🤣
  21. Sorry, what....so if I come down Chappies from the viewpoint to Noordhoek and take one of those blind corners and collide with a runner coming up from Noordhoek running against the cliff and on the "wrong" side of the road...it's my fault?
  22.
