  1. Around Cape Town on a fun-ride, with about 18,300 other fun-riders.....
  2. This tells me everything I need to know: Get a bigger bike... Carry more Game bottles....
  3. Guess it was all for nought...results have been updated and no-one under 3h50 is listed🤣 We should be patient and wait for the "Deactivated" list to be populated?
  4. 🤣 after I looked a little while, realised that stoker has his own bottles!!!! WTH could he have been drinking and wouldn't it have just left a mess on the road!!???
  5. Weight watcher?
  6. Had a blast...up early bells to see my SIL off in 1A, followed in 3B, up front and no issues up onto the highway, great pace and bulleted down Hospital bend with lost of space! Went past a fallen guy at the end of Edinburgh Drive, hope he was OK...fantastic climb up the Hill! and dashed down M3, all very rosy until we left Lakeside to be greeted by a bugger of an Easterly, tough grind to Muizenburg then free -wheeling all the way to Simon's Town to meet the same Easterly as we left and started the climb to Smits in a bit of a gale! At the turn, the wind died and we flew down to Scarborough, Witsands and Ocean View, glorious, good waves with no-one out!!... Rode through cramps to the bottom of Chappies..pickle juice I kid you not! Chappies climb was good fun, head and tail wind and then that weird headwind from the viewpoint to the first lefthand turn... Suikerbossie was HOT and sticky and a bit quiet compared to previous years then the mad dash along the Atlantic seaboard to the finish.... The beer tent was heaving and everyone was full of smiles...a really great day out! Support along the way was awesome!
  7. I been running their MTB version...their proof test at their booth was pretty impressive!
  8. Same!!!! Had to punch new hole!🤣
  9. Collection done...no Fritos!!!🤨....place was actually buzzing nicely....shake out ride along the coast through crazy Camps Bay well supported and good gees...except for one moto biker who came off above Oude Kraal...him and his pillion seemed OK but bike under the tree in the parking area look trashed!! Ride safe everyone...
  10. Despite not seeing the runway until we crossed the N2 , Captain Jan touchdowned perfectly!!! Here we go!!
  11. Thats a big ass bag of Fritos..hope I get the long-banned Steak version!!!
  12. Travel safe everyone!!!
  13. Shot and yip, everyone smile and wave when you pass me!!!😆
  14. 07h09....3B....gonna be a blast!
  15. Well good luck to all, hope the OP related to thread are all doing well and that we see y'all back on the road soon! There should be no runners on the route on Sunday except for those pesky photogs you sit in the middle of the road near the view point while I'm bashing out a KOM! See you all Sunday!
  16. Yes of course, there rules for cyclists there as well and we have had that debate many times on this site...... There was famous scientist, recall his name was Darwin..and he had a theory...can't recall the specifics....I just heard about it....but if he's on Le Hub, maybe he could chime in with his opinion...😆
  17. Weekdays (off-peak season) 07:00 – 08:00 & 16:30 – 18:00 Hours of darkness Weekends, Public Holidays & Peak Holiday Period (15 Dec - 5 Jan) 10:00 – 19:00 Hours of darkness So yes, unfortunately they can be there when its busiest with cyclists...but logic should prevail... In fact if they stop and walk to catch their breath then the following applies does it not? Pedestrian movement between Lookout Point and Noordhoek Corner (km 28,6 and km 33,1) is prohibited at all times.
  18. You right...partly: From Chappies Terms of Entry site (https://www.chapmanspeakdrive.co.za/terms.html) Weekdays (off-peak season) 07:00 – 08:00 & 16:30 – 18:00 Hours of darkness Weekends, Public Holidays & Peak Holiday Period (15 Dec - 5 Jan) 10:00 – 19:00 Hours of darkness So yes, unfortunately they can be there when its busiest with cyclists...but logic should prevail...
  19. In this case, cycling down on the lefthand side of the road and runners running up on the righthand side of the road...not walkers/pedestrians on a pavement...there is no pavement or shoulder along this part of Chappies and running on the righthand side of the road is really dangerous....
  20. This is going to be the next unfortunate incident we will read about on Chappies, if it has not already happened before...runners on the wrong side of the road coming up from Noordhoek to the view point....I have had many a very close call coming down from the viewpoint to NH and staying as left as possible to avoid the very real possibility of this latest incident only to be confronted by a runner or even GROUP of runners on the wrong side of the road...just because its "internationally accepted practice" doesn't make it logical...
  21. That wheel set with integrated spokes tho...break a spoke and have to replace entire hub?
  22. Which Varia? the 515 and 715 have different mounts...if its for the 515, then 3d prints will be OK as the mount is strapped to your seat post by rubber "bands"..I would still use a lanyard to ensure it does fall if the mount break...something common for 3D prints for the Garmin mounts.....the 715 is completely different and uses the same mount that came out with their Action Cam...I wouldn't try 3d print that one....
  23. Saved for last gasp Friday evening! After a few guys have registered..and realised what's inside!...🤣
  24. And so we enter "race week" phase on Le Hub: What will the weather/wind be like? SEaster's gonna howl..(make sure you start near the front!) Jislaaik, numbers are down...no...wait they up! I didn't get my seeding yet! Too many okes riding! Its a tour...not a race! Jewie sticking to his guns...under-sized, under-gunned, under-geared, under-rated... Its expensive! Petrol price is going up! Load shedding....(just threw this in cause ....) Did I leave something out? Ride for the fallen! Going to pack, see you at the gate!
