  2. Good strength/weight/price ratio. But ensure that they're serviced regularly. If the cones are over tightened, left a little too loose, or dirt gets in... then pitting occurs on the inner hubs surface (on which the balls run). The solution entails new wheel set! As hubs for XT/XTR wheel sets are not available as separate items! < id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

  10. Hey Spesh! That news about the track sounds awesome! I've never raced there, but I'll be there for the national next year. I heard that it was slow and pedaly. Excited that it's now faster! I'm going to probably be there for a few days before the race. Do you know of cheap accommodation?
  11. Awesome event! My only gripe was the first stage. Too much pedaling! But there was more than enough goodness to out weigh that! I ruined my overall chances on stage 1. Epic fail! During the riders briefing, I was working on my bike. When they mentioned the first turn being a LEFT, I didn't hear it. I was first off the start and ended up taking a wrong turn (RIGHT). Proceeded on a rad technical descent for a few mins, which was actually the best part of that stage. Then I had to push back up to the course, the push hurt me! Within a few mins of that, my hangover kicked in big time. Had to sit out the second run, vomiting... then sleeping. It was a horror show Managed to get it together for the 2nd stage. Ended with 3rd quickest time for the second stage, and 4th quickest for the 3rd stage. No hope for the overall, as I was 15mins + down after stage one. Lesson learned -----> All in all, it was a super fun weekend. Lots of looseness, on and off the track It was also very interesting to see the variety of different bikes. Some of the fastest times of the day were done on both XC and DH bikes

  20. What are you currently running?
  21. SRAM's ok. But I prefer Shimano
  22. Indeed, it's a road derailleur. It came on the bike. Guys use them because they're short cage. Most MTB derailleurs that are available locally are long cage, sometimes medium cage. In terms of Shimano, before shadow derailleur came about, a road derailleur would have worked as well as an older mtb short cage derailleur. As I said, got Saint shifter and derailleur on the way. No more sh*t.
  23. Thanks. Dirk van Schalkwyk won it.
