  2. Yeah, a description with 3 exclamation marks!!! Like, hey POS, get your eyes tested!!! or, hey I cleared the gap!!! or, hey I spilled some blood!!! Are you not supposed to be at a pre-strategy-chat-about-stragey meeting?
  3. I think I now understand why the trails look so shoddy up at Tokai. You have a problem with your eyes. The OP said "After I got him off the bakkie, I did kick him in the jaw, and dislodge a tooth or two. He spilled some blood!!!" What part of that doesn't sound like bragging or blood thirst?
  4. I've seen these things escalate and thus I stand by what I said; I do not agree with people being heros for the sake of a handbag. That's all I said. (Snipped)
  5. no dude, you just don't like my opinion, so you need to feel that it antagonises you.
  6. Hey. No I don't drive a Golf. Not even I would be THAT much of a tjop. I think there has always been an element of dodginess at Tokai. That park where we always pay has always had shady characters lurking about. This is where I think this has been picked up on. I still do not agree that we need to act violently to crime. I know people are pissed off by it, as am I, but being aggressive will not lead to a solution. It will lead to someone innocent getting hurt. The parks should be responsible for the safety of people at their venues. Especially over weekends. Oh, and a question for the OP, how did you know that they had weapons ? Lastly, to all of you who just choose to attack my views: it makes me glad to be able to provide an alternative view to your jaded one sided views. For those who chose to get personal...bite me, and kiss my ass
  7. Hey dude, if you want a pat on the back for kicking someone in the face, you are not going to get it from me. I think what you did was nobel. Not many folks would stand up and do the right thing. Hopefully you don't have dependants and your life insurance is all good if you say they had guns/knives. So for a wallet, you risked your life (and luckily didn't get shot), and you kicked the guy in the head, breaking his teeth out. Leeeeekkkkka
  8. Yes. I fully understand that the person was trying to escape. Why is there no security in the parking lot though? Even someone informal? Still, assaulting the person by kicking him in the face is less than satisfactory and in fact I'll bet our 'hero' will be answering to an assault charge in the near future. Here's something to think about: now that this area has been noted for goodies, the crime will not cease without proper intervention and security measures. Our hero has also upped the ante, so as I've seen in the past in other areas, they will be back, and they will be prepared.
  9. Nice, so you assault the guy by kicking him in the face, answering a crime with a crime. I won't be surprised if these guys come back with firearms next.
  10. Easily avoided by wrapping the bike in black bags. Done this many times and the bikes arrived clean. Good idea to avoid the sandblasting. I did this once and all of my bearings were ruined.
  11. Actually I'd be more worried about the oil slick from the bum cream overload from these 29er twits.
  12. Absolute truth there. Makes a huge difference to the sound. How have you treated your listening room if I may ask?
  13. No, you're exactly right there.
  14. Well, what type of amplifier are you going to build? This is where your tone is affected. A tube design has a different sound to a transformer based design. A ported cabinet design will extend the bottom end, but ultimately one is looking for a flat frequency response, so if the closed back with porting is extending it too much you might end up with undefined bottom end. If tone is what you are crafting, then you'd be better off focussing on guitar electronics (active/passive), pickup choice and the type of preamp you are running it into. From there the cone/cab does have an effect but not as much as the former. Using rare woods will look awesome though and it's a great idea. In fact, after seeing these pics I'm itching to have a couple of my toys 'rare-wooded' here.
  15. I didn't read the bit where you'd said it was a closed design. If you believe that using exotic woods will greatly affect the tone then by all means go for it (although I'd take what people say on forums with a pinch of salt. I've read and experienced otherwise). Using a dodgy guitar cable will have massively more influence on your tone, as will the circuitry inside the amp. What topography are you working with there?
  16. This doesn't make sense at all. I'd love to read the articles that say this. The resonance of the cabinet (especially if open backed) will make very little difference to the tonality by changing the woods. With acoustics we look at the density coefficient and that would be very similar. Also, highs, mids and lows are separate frequency bands within the spectrum, so I can't understand how the hihgs and lows could have a 'nice mid punch'. Changing that Celestion and the circuitry should be the focus if you are looking at tonal changes. The cabs are very cool looking though and for non gigging they are awesome. Can you build other cabinets? I'm looking for something to be made soon.
  17. Staying motivated is key. Find some people to ride with who have similar skills and objectives. And set realistic goals. It took you a long time to put on that weight, and will take a long time to lose it. With MTB, skills are everything. They far outweigh the bike/what components etc. Get hold of this book: http://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Mountain-Bike-Skills-Edition/dp/0736083715
  18. Actually, if you were sold the incorrect size bike you should return it. You were ill advised. All the rest of your post says is that you were impulsive and should have rather come here first, or used the greatest resource we have, the internet, to steer your choice properly. Becoming healthy and fit is not an impulsive thing though, and needs commitment, sacrifice and dedication. This needs to start with the little things. At the very least, cycling will show you how unfit you are and will set a starting point for change. Good luck, and good choice. Bike wise: I'd go for the best bike I could afford. Definitely discs, SLX/X5 groupo. If you go full suss, dont buy cheap. You get what you pay for. Sounds to me like you'd be best off with an entry level hardtail.
  19. Wow blast from the past. Still working?
  20. Sure thing: some awesome sound design http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgFmyXuKoDo&feature=related
  21. How come no response from Bridge cycles yet? Anyone work there here?
  22. kicked. back of the shoe. (schoolboy sneaky kick)
  23. Theft actually. The fact that the owner got his property back doesn't stop what happened from being theft. They removed parts without his consent. Kept them. Denied having them, then only once evidence was provided, returned the stolen property.Lay a charge.
  24. agreed. No race is worth the damage that will cause to the drivetrain.
