  1. true that! I did a drop off the other day on my BMX and I nearly crapped when I landed So used to my long travel bike and letting it do all the work.
  2. and there is the problem: once you've tasted how a decent coffee should taste, it's almost never that I get a cup that compares when going out. Often these restaurants have all the right equipment too, often they're supplied by a decent coffee supplier too, yet it's the art of drawing a decent shot that is lacking. If it's a coffee shop that I'm at, and I get given a poor cup, it gets sent back, and I'll ask the manager why. That's what is so great about Nespresso, especially for my business. I can't think of anything worse than giving my clients dodgy coffee. They deserve quality. Best part is that once I've shown them how to make a cup, they actually want to do it themselves every time, bringing the idea of self service to fruition.
  3. yoh! make sure your medical aid is topped up Just pump the rear shock right up.
  4. You mentioned in your OP "I see this guy walking ahead of me in the distance." So you saw him, yet still took him down? I've seen plenty of Spruit Warriors when I used to live there. Guys who put their heads down and don't make way for others using the paths. Fancy carbon and lycra like it's the Epic. Get a life and slow down man.
  5. OP should have known better cycling on a well trafficked pedestrian route. You should not be carrying such speed in areas where you are unsure of who/what is in front of you. Typical "Spruit Warrior" gunning down a mediocre footpath (yes, they are footpaths made by FEET of 'peds') trying to relive some scene from ROAM. Go ride in the bush with reckless abandon. Some people go to work at these times, and yes, they sometimes walk.
  6. Still one of the best cycle shops in Jozy. Hands down. Might I suggest in future you do the following: - Inform your broker of the bikes on loan, with special provision for that. Then besides taking the ID, physical address, cellphone number etc, take a CASH deposit that is equal to the premium if stolen plus a handling fee. If the people cannot put down a deposit (refundable on bike return, minus admin/handling fee) then you have already weeded them out. Surely if you don't have the cash for a small deposit, then you don't have the cash to buy the bike anyway. Gets rid of the time wasters, which is pretty much what a service like this attracts.
  7. Karcher/WAP etc. High pressure washers. Pretty handy in the workshop. Slowbee, care to explain why you think this isn't valid in a workshop thread?
  8. What was LA offering there? Looks like dope to me ;0
  9. wow, only 3 pages and it's Godwin's Law.
  10. Without definitive proof of him cheating this will only end up making all of the parasitic lawyer scums involved rich. Lance is certainly holding his ground, and as nobody has any actual proof yet, he'll likely walk away from this. Any idea why sharks don't eat lawyers? Professional courtesy
  11. Try fraud actually. Besides the glory of the titles, each win scored him lots of cash. This was 'earned' through dishonesty and cheating.
  12. A decent workshop should be able to tackle any project. A real man has the right tool for every job :0
  13. Lol!
  14. It was the second time it happened. First time the agent sent to him as default. Lasted NO rides. Chucked the part and move to a different brand.Second time was the same situ. Ended up deciding that the cost to courier each time was yards more than shipping seals/bushings in myself and learning to do the services/repairs myself. Not to seem like a hater, but I found I was in a situation were all the answers were being told to me, without solutions. Well, my fork sucked so badly after I got it back I just closed that chapter in my book. Bottom line: none of this is rocket science.
  15. oh yes. I didn't mention this because it should really be the first thing bought, and is a given.
  16. Last fork he did for me took 2 rides to end up worse than before. This is what I do now. Easy to learn and feel much better knowing that I've taken the proper care to get it right.
  17. yep, I'll be buying a box of 10 x 10 of those. Wish I'd bought more of the Vanilla As a side: I'm not sold on the Vida pods. They don't taste as good as the Nespresso belnds
  18. no workshop is complete without : - SDS power drill - karcher (decent sized) - air compressor w/ ratchet, spray gun - proper heavy vice - welder (preferably TIG) - full set of Gedore sockets - proper wall mounted grinding stone. - oxy acetaline kit. - decent size angle grinder The list goes on...and on....aaaaaand on
  19. Last year's Vanilla pods were great. Keep an eye out for them.
  20. dude, this is all FAAAAAR from over, it's unfolding every day. How can you say it's part of the past?
  21. Yes, exactly the same bike, tyres, pressures, same piece of trail etc. If you know what to feel for, you will feel the difference. If you haven't felt this difference, then you maybe don't ever ride in situations where having a stiffer front end would make a difference.
  22. Don't be so sure of that. There are many riders who'll disagree with you on this. I can feel it like night and day. The more technical you take your riding, the more you'll feel the stiffness. But if you are willing to bet on 98%, how about a little wager? We'll need a demo fork that has QR/TA switchability, a nice rocky technical singletrack and 20 riders. Willing to bet your car/house that more than 98% CAN feel the diffs? (Bear in mind only 1 person needs to win the blind test and you lose).
  23. Viagra sells itself Johan It definitely makes things much stiffer, as with the TA. I can feel the stiffness (of the TA fork vs QR). Makes perfect sense mechanically as to why as well. On one you have a 20mm bar threaded between 2 points and clamped, the other you don't. I'm sure we could find a fork that has both options and test this. Any takers?
  24. Ja it would be a spandex version of "Hansie"
  25. True. What good I think Lance has done for the sport with one hand, he has taken away ten fold with the other though. It's at least in line with how these prawns usually behave I know what you mean about sticking by the villain though. I still think Lolly was a cool guy and I cant find a bad thing to say about The Donald. I guess Lance at least had the ball to go for it. You know what they say, when you're going to get smashed, do it properly.
