  3. Johan, your comments on the DT Swiss X1800 wheelsets? I recently bought a pair for Desert Dash and have been quite impressed (especially seeing I'm on what can be term 'fat bastard' side of the scale). How long they will last is another matter, but for now they seem to be rather decent..

  7. Yeah sinuses etc blocked as per usualy sinus flu I tend to pick up in winter. Guess I can rest a bit more than usual this x-mas season and just chill out Taking the usual vit-c and Advil-CS tabs etc.. I was more curious to see if others also get sick after hard events..
  8. ...to get sick after a hard event? Got back from the Desert Dash last week, felt run down, got lots of sleep, yesterday...whammo, flu! In the middle of summer as well... Anyone else experience this after something like Ironman, Epic, Sabie etc?

  15. Another brand to give a try, Second Skins. Our last batch of team kit made by them was fantastic!
  16. Yeah was good fun on the tandem, apart from the two palookas who decided to needlessly throw their bikes on the tar. That was about the scariest moment of the entire race..
  17. No nothing except for the bender-cure
  18. That goes without saying
  19. As you guys know, I've been training quite hard for the silly event next weekend (12 and 13 December) up in Dan Craven's world (Namibia). The past week after the DC I took it easier, only a 10hour week with two rest days. Felt 100%! Yesterday commuted to work, then felt a bit run down in the afternoon. Grabbed a tin of coke from the canteen about 4pm. 5pm, change, commute home. 5km later I'm feeling the onset of low blood sugar..sweaty cold chills and the like. Make it to the local garage, scoff down a big Bar-One chocolate. Ride home fine. 1hr later blood sugar obviously drops lower than the Rand but I have some lasange for supper and hit the hay 10pm. Wake up my usual 5:30am, and still feeling way worn down...decide to skip riding and drive to work. It's now a few hours on, resting heartrate as I'm sitting at my desk is 52. Tried having a Barocca and a Red Bull to lift the slump but still feel like I could sleep for a week. Any ideas from you buggers that know more than me?
