  1. No idea what it weighs now sorry (I'll have it weighed one day). It's the original 4" travel frame, before they started the LT and XC. Biggest problem with them was the rear stays...I can't run a 2.1 tyre at the back. Some 2.0's fit.. I'm happy with it though and certainly don't have another R15 000 around to upgrade to another frame.
  2. Stans conversion coming once I've decided on a front tyre to use at Dash (happy with the Larsen TT at the back), and also new pedals. Wallet needs to recover first
  3. Since everyone is posting their stuff, slowbee reminded me I should post the upgrades I did to my Blur for Desert Dash. In dire need of some love, especially with the flat tyre after the last ride. Thompson seatpost (thanks CWC), BBB carbon fibre handlebar, Ridley Pro stem (Crown Cycles didn't have a WCS handy) and a new cluster. Yes I am a fat bastard, so I can't ride the lightest stuff. All this should hold my fat ass without breaking DT Swiss 1800 wheels, new centrelock discs (thanks Fred from Gecko!), and SLR-XP saddle. Nicely washed after her the first test ride on the new additions in Magic Forest with niterider Oh and she's just a tad lighter now
  4. I run a mixture of SRAM (shifters and deraileurs) and XT (brakes, cranks etc) on my Blur. Only problem encountered with the Shimano XT cranks has been the retaining bolts coming loose and then sheering the plastic cup (sp?) off. Seen this happen to another XT crank at Karoo to Coast. XT hydraulic brakes are fantastic value though!
  5. Suddenly makes my 15 to 16hr weeks for Desert Dash seem reasonable Explains why I can't stay awake at work though
  6. I spent a bit of money at two shops this week, and both seemed to be doing ok, but they did ask if I could do internet transfer payments, so they don't have to pay the switching fees for the transactions via speedpoints etc. Obviously trying to save money where they can... I obliged and got a nice discount for it at the one shop..
  7. The song's proper name is Nine Inch Nails - Closer
  8. Out of this place - Prime Circle Kind of says how I feel about work atm
  9. After a particularly hard day, a glass of Jack Daniels and quiet music... Oh you meant after a ride?
  10. Well stop dicking around on the Hub and go fetch my pants!
  11. Cold hands warm heart...finally explains why you're such a dick
  12. Well I can't help it that you have such small hands
  13. At least she can usually hold on to my wheel
  14. Kyle who did my 5th Element has left Cycle Factory...best we find out where he went...
  15. *reaches for the wetwipes*
  16. Use Shimano on the road and MTB. Had one pair of SIDI and they didn't last nearly as long as I hoped. A special mention to my cheap set of Olympic road shoes I commute on. After two years of rain and muck they've held up surprisingly well for a R600 set of shoes..
  17. No-one likes a moderator either, and you lot are testing one in particular's patience tonight... Fatmod
  18. Big-H no, you may question any product you wish, but one of the members did a direct attack at Johan regarding his show. Uncalled for. Trust me, I could not give 2 cents about the Q&A thread, BUT at least Johan has offered to put together some information. Have you? End of story, no personal attacks will be entertained. If you don't like it, complain to Admin or leave. Fatmod
  19. This might be a nice time to remind everyone about the "personal attacks" sticky at the top. Play nice, else this thread gets a lock attached Fatmod
  20. Johan yeah sounds good. I can either host it on chainwheel.co.za or once it's ready, give Admin a call and get him to do something on the Hub. Either way, even if you just drop me a normal e-mail with the stuff in text format we can get it sorted fairly quick. As always it's just getting the meat of the info, not the frills that counts...
  21. Johan: make a FAQ and I'll sticky it for you, else pm me for suggestions and I'll see what I can do (including phoning Admin)
  22. Think about how this place would be if you weren't moderated. Others get away with less. Remember what a mess the old SuperCycling forum turned in to. I certainly don't tollerate crap, and neither do the other mods, but in the same sense we do try to help where we can.
