  1. I've got one. Bought as an upgrade to a Polar s725x. I use it for Triathlons, road cycling and MTB and it's the bees knees! It really is fantastic and the Garmin software is awesome. The ONLY drawback I can find is that the GPS takes a while to get a 'lock' when it's overcast, but if you've used the 305 then I'm sure you've experienced it. You won't be sorry!
  2. Hi guys, anyone have any info regarding Vitus MTB frames?
  3. Defintely not. Best to stay off the bike till the course is finished. Had to go onto a course before Ironman this year and the doc made it quite clear to wait till course was finished. Hope that helps
  4. I've used the Polar s725x and recently sold it and replaced with a Garmin 310xt. Would never go back to Polar. Garmin just so much easier to use and I find the web software a pleasure. Downloading via ANT+ on the garmin is a dream compared to the Polar. EASYGis (listed on Hub) gave me a FANTASTIC price on the Garmin (was only about R200 more than I could find online overseas). Just my 2c
  5. Hi CaneRat, if you don't mind me asking, who is your surgeon? My wife been struggling for 3 years now with ITB and nothing seems to help. We've been considering the ITB release. We're in PE and there's no-one here I trust to operate on her, so have been contemplating bringing her up to CT to see someone.
  6. Getting good service these days is rare! Glad some businesses still value customers! Keep it up EasyGIS!
  7. Just wanna congratulate EasyGIS on some awesome service & price!! I bought a Garmin 310XT from them yesterday and it just arrived this morning. Not only did they nearly match the price I would have paid online from the UK, but their service has been outstanding!! Would highly recommend them to any Hubber looking for a good deal on Garmin products.
  8. Thanks guys. EASYGIS have given me a really good price on the 310XT. Not as cheap as the overseas guys but I'm seriously considering it. Would really prefer to buy locally!
  9. So I'm looking at buying a Garmin 310XT from overseas. Does anyone know if the local Garmin agents will honour the warranty? Anyone had any experience with a similar situation?
  10. Hi Guys, just wanted to know what an acceptable price would be for my MTB if I wanted to sell. Here are the specs: GT Avalanche 2.0 Frame (2006) - good condition RS Tora 318 Fork (not more than 200km on it) Sram x7 Shifters & RD ((about 500km) Sram XGen FD (about 500km) Avid Single Digit 7 Levers and V-brakes Race Face Evolve XC Crank (about 500km) with BB (not more than 200km) Crank Bros Candy Pedals (about 200km) Alex Wheels I know it's difficult but thanks for the help.
  11. They've got different people handling the different brands - maybe it's just who you land up dealing with...
  12. Just a quick note to say what fantastic service I received from Omnico! Had a Blackburn X4 light where the charger wasn't working. Omnico sent me a new charger, but after plugging it in, the battery wouldn't charge. I phoned them and send the whole light back to them. They replaced it with a brand new Sigma light. When I received it, the quick release bracket was broken. After a phonecall to them, they sent out a new bracket with a helmet mount for free!! Really fantastic service! Unheard of these days!!! Big thanks to Carlo and Garth at Omnico!! Thanks guys!!!
  13. Thanks guys. Chainrings aren't new (but will be with then crankset). I'll ask my LBS to look at the stiff link. Thanks for the help!
  14. Chain, cassette, FD, RD - all new. JUst bought a new crank & BB which needs to be fitted. Hoping that might sort it out.
  15. Hi guys, I need some advice/help please. I recently bought a new frame and components but ever since the build, my chain keeps jumping when in the middle gears. Does it when I'm in small and big blade. Taken it back to LBS twice now. They've replaced the cables but keeps doing it. Any suggestions?
  16. Hey I am not being funny when I ask this but it is very hard to believe that a drink can provide as many calories as is needed for those events. People will most certainly bonk on fluids alone. Can you look at the label and tell me what the max calorie mix is for a high concetrate formula? Take a look here: http://www.infinitnutrition.co.za/. This has been used by many top ironman athletes and is used by Joe Friel and Mark Allen. Spoken to Paul Wolff (Race Director from IMSA) who uses it and he swears by it. Also works out cheaper than buying gels and bars.
  17. You should consider 'Infinit' drink. Distributed by Triangle Sports (Ironman SA). You can custom blend it to suit your requirements and contains all the calories, protein, etc that you need so there's no need for any gels or bars. Been using it for a while now and doing the Half IM on it and probably the full. Helps to take the guessing game out of nutrition
  18. REally, who are insured with? My insurance wouldn't cover me while racing
  19. It does, but your specified all risks doesn't cover your bike while racing - only training.
  20. All, except for 1 of my dealings on the Hub have been a pleasure. There are so many great hubbers out there, this thread could go on for ages. a thought may be to start a thread of who to watch out for - like a blacklist. I'm positive it will be much shorter. just my 2c BTW, a few Hubbers I've had some dealings with and all a pleasure: WindblownPE Majestic Matchstix Connie cyborg leet22 and many more
  21. thanks, but not sure if the medical aid is going to cover the prolonged period in ICU - may be in there for months
