Good morning hubbers, Need some help. My father is looking to upgrade his roadbike. He is not sure whether it is better to buy a new bike or just upgrade frame and handlebar, etc. He is looking at the BMC SLT01 but deems it a bit expensive. Are there any other frames worth having a look at? Are there any full carbon bikes with 105 or eqivalent components to look at? Also, what is a reasonable price to ask for his bike - Raleigh RC3000 (2005, blue), size L, 10 speed 105 groupset with Tiagra brake calipers, front derailleur and crank. Shimano WH550 wheelset. anyone know where i could look for a second hand cyclocross bike? all the advice is helpful if i build one but at the moment i am to lazy.

if you would recommend a components list, what would it be? the mid range stuff? i assume all the components would be available locally?

do i use a fork or a front shock? fork aluminium or carbon? not to clued up on the components of a cyclocross bike. mtb drivetrain?

My brother would like to start mountain biking. At present he has a cheap (ala pick 'n pay) bike. What sort of bike should I get him? He is 14 and his inseam is 76 cm (if measured correctly). Do i buy the smallest frame with good groupset adn then later upgrade or buy him a medium sith short stem and seat post? Any suggestions on make and model would be most welcome. As yet, not sure on budget. Also what is a good starting point re. shock and groupset?

I agree. Cyclists and cars need to learn to tolerate each other and use the road in co existence. most cyclists when driving see a cyclist they exercise caution when overtaking but other road users do not always do this.

I recently changed my old cleats for new ones but now my feet are getting sore. i have deduced that my cleats are in the incorrect position. is there a way of determining where the cleats should sit for each foot (both mtb and road)? appreciate any help.
