I picked up my wife`s Dale on obike when it first started a few years ago. I also keep an eye on that site but with the popularity of Dales these day there seem to be fewer bargains, suppose they are selling most of their stock.

I have owned seven Cannondales all bought through various Local bike shops distributed by Cape Cycle Systems and Omnico. I have no issues what so ever with Omnico and have only ever received good service from them and the Cannondale Brand Manager. Unfortuantly due to current financial constraints and the fact my daughter needs a new bike if I can pick up one of these Makro specials I will go for it. From a mechanical point I have no problem with re - assembling the bike and have enough spare components that eventually I can build up a nice hard tail for my daughter who has outgrown her Cannondale 26er.

No problem, still cheap enough that I can buy one for my daughter if I can get my hands on one.

Have used both Maxxis and RRs and generally you will get more mileage out the Maxxis range tyres.

I had Arches for three years now on my Dale and have been bombproof - 82kg and hard riding !! Not sure how the new ones are though.

Two of my friends with the same wheelset have had them crack and replaced under warranty only to have them crack again. The end result one went with the new Stans Carbon rims and the other is looking at stronger options, maybe the Arches or something else. Unfortunately as you ride a Scalpel you will be going faster than most and by default punishing the rims more !!!
