I understand why they did not say anything, its hard to be the bearer of bad news. Some ppl don't want to take the risk of upsetting the friendship dynamic. I'd want to be told, and i might be mad but would not be shooting the messenger. I have called a friend on his sh!t (drinking to much) when I was stone cold sober. Things went better after for him even tho it added some strain on our friendship.

I don't think that's 100% true tho landy, Its more than one "someones" fault. There is person straying, one that helps by being other party and finally the wife/husband. Unfortunately no matter what we do in life we always have some small blame. The thing to take from it is to learn from past mistakes and work to improve yourself. Once everything is said and done your the one looking in the mirror and the question is always do you like what you see?

I figured something like this is happening, Do your best to protect yourself as myles suggested. Do your best with your son maybe sit him down with a beer (assuming he is of age) and tell him this is not what you wanted. We offered the spare room to my mate at the time of his separation when things got bad. He never took us up on it, and soon after managed to get the granny flat his parents are renting out. But I wouldn't offer it to all of my friends, some don't have boundaries and would try to stay indefinitely.

That's not always true, those bigger circle of friends rarely want to get involved. They less likely to stick around when things get tough. The close long term friends are the ones you can count on to take you through the tough and be there with a beer on the other side. Don't think you will always be lonely either things change constantly, there will always be opportunity for someone new. Word of warning the wife might lean on kids when things go financially bad, either reducing their quality of life or forcing you to step in again.

That sucks horrible. From what I have seen with my friend going thru the whole story, mediation worked well. As long as everyone adheres to the agreements and everything is amicable it works out well. Friend when to see lawyer before for advice to ensure he gets a fair deal.

I miss old tumbles on this thread. I got some epic sets lately, Got LDW140 for birthday in august bought the motor set added to that its pretty epic. Got advent calander as well its yearly tradition by now, wished had cash for the starwars one its pretty cool. Got a lego jungle set on discount (40% less 2dec only toy's r us) also really cool tracked buggy in there. Unfortunately i have placed shopping for lego on hold since we have daughter as of yesterday (Ill do shopping for her so long, playtest and put away for when she old enough)

Managed swing a few rounds of Red Dragon Inn (Boardgame) And some overwatch and H1z1 this weekend. Considering its first weekend in probably almost 2 months I am home sat and sunday was good weekend
