  1. Lockdown makes lots of projects stall. My work space is a mess due to shelf failing in rains last few days. as such rest of projects on hold till its replaced. I will be trying to make space better organised after as garage is shitty as is. I did build a router table that works. Its nothing epic but a good start
  2. I also skipped on the 144hz screen, Solid state storage is expensive. I bought ram afterwards to increase mine. In end ill use my laptop 4 years then buy a new one, with better specs again. Pass on mine to daughter maybe, she should just be interested. With current rate of tech improvement 4 years is pushing a bit on boundary of old but ill live
  3. 144hz is where its at, but it will need more powerful GPU to manage the frames.
  4. Im sure if you havnt recieved it any order can be changed. Cyberpunk big talk, never been my theme
  5. I upgraded to a gaming laptop. sold off my pc in parts, due to living situation it wasnt really usable anyways. I kept screen and use it for the laptop. laptop has same processing power as my pc (more newer infact). Ill keep it 4 years odd then buy new one and either sell this or donate to my daughter. The comfort of having a moving processing platform that can handle CAD and games when travelling is unparalleled.
  6. Highly doubt she is a signatory give her a letter to evict and then follow eviction process of illegal occupation. Had same thing with ex. Only way to get her out is via that route since she has no agreement with owner.
  7. Is this tumbles for her, to be filled in once she has left via it?(assume I didn't finish in time). Dad owns house me leaving helps no one unfortunately.
  8. Pre trail was yesterday got info from lawyer, the court has set a settlement date (to my understanding this is for them to try reaching agreement again).... before we can be assigned a court date. I'm over it ex doesn't want to settle she wants me to suffer. Burn it all would be such a great solution, I have a daughter and unfortunately it would affect her.
  9. When I started out I did like 5km. Its nasty how insane tired I was after, after few weeks I got better and it was easier. Then I started training more/harder and it went back to pain cave era. I have been off bike/run for a long while and now only way to get back is start at bottom. Even now I do max 10km starting out riding, it does take less riding to get into easy riding space now though.
  10. Second hand consoles are hot items these days. Too much free time and kids everywhere! Most second hand stores charging more than the consoles cost when new, if they have stock. So with the current marked that's a steal!
  11. My vote goes to fusion 360, but purely out of a scalable solution perspective. Fusion360 allows you to do some seriously advanced drawing techniques when you start getting hang of things, Some of others like tinkercad is slightly more limited. Fusion360 also has cloud history of each revision (so far that's everytime i click save manually). This has made it possible for me to go back and make a branched design without either starting from scratch or stripping back current design. Anyone selling prints to make some cash?
  12. There is the option to post it as a remix, Then it gives credit to original design.
  13. I use autodesk Fusion 360, free for hobbist use. It's quite effective but more complicated designs will take time to figure out the program and effectively work with it. 3d prints will never be right first time, especially if you need to make holes right size etc.
  14. You can drill/file/sand PLA easy. Dremel has become one of my most used tools in workshop recently. Adapt your design reprint if material use not issue or walls less than 4-6. Usually I print super fast 100m/s(rough draft 0.28mm) till part shape and fit close to right design, then ill do refined print at 50m/s 0.16mm. So somehow Router table got worked on anyways, 2 holes and 2 welds and ill be ready for first testing! Its cold and rainy so I stopped for the day. Should be able to test mechanism tomorrow.
  15. Rails not really issue that you just use locknut and don't super tighten it. Only issue if you use it extended periods clamped to drill. That section will not be happy (extended 3-6months clamped tight constantly) but it's not super expensive to reprint just some more time mostly. I have a knife sharpener from CNC kitchen design that has deformed due to constant clamp. I'll have to reprint parts of it. Router project on hold at the moment class started again! it's so close to done and yet I have to watch with longing eyes.
  16. If thats PLA use washers for those holes, Also make sure to keep the files as the PLA doesn't like compression/tension over long periods of time, it deforms somewhat like clay being pushed on. This is the main reason I have for wanting to print ABS and or PETG. *Glitter makes it cool! I have normal black its okish*
  17. CS-GO is free to play these days. Quite fun and low ping ftw, but im playing with friends and bots so doesn't actually matter (yes bots). Valorant released Free to play FPS CS-GO style game with overwatch abilities. Honestly i'm not a fan but everyone else loves it. The ping (200 odd ms) just makes it not fun, there is visible issues related to this IE headshot the other guys body drops on your screen then you show up dead instead. As for PS5 and new XBOX X they look epic but ill reserve judgement on them till I see cost in ZAR, im sure its going to end up R8k+.
  18. I have seen a guy do leather imprint with a vice and think was 3d printed logo, soaked the leather for while then clamped till dry. Not really something I actively follow as my general interests usually involve a mess for some reason. Very much into 3d printing/CNC automation type projects. Woodworking and Leather working is beautiful and cathartic to do, I chiseled a lip out of a block yesterday to fit a space (its ugly in end didnt even try neatly done) was super cool. I do need to sharpen and reform tips of the chisels they pretty @#%#$^. But all in good time got other things going on since class started up the Router table project is front centre as I want to use it for the project section.
  19. Depends on how he was married, in/out community of property with/without accrual. In end unless he really really values something, its not worth the fight. Id have settled long ago if she wanted stuff, she wants my paycheck (50% of my income via various demands).
  20. 100% Agreed, the example you give is called bad parenting and this falls under my disclosure of something else is going on. I am not yet divorced, I have a restraining order on ex from entering my room. We have been forced to spend last 2 months in same house raising 2year old. Ex has 2 night shifts and she is done for week. I work 5 days day time, since I cant leave house the well balanced system has been @#%*(#%. Daughter is starting to show signs of it but ex makes sure to be in common area where all toys are 100% of the time. She also makes sure to intrude often. Im sure once we out and it's only about daughter things will settle but for now its all #$%^#&%.
  21. Seems like you need one of each!
  22. De Walt eco system in SA sucks. I bought my drill for a drill and I liked the balance better than the Makita, I have actually used both during extended sessions after buying and I prefer my De walt (Both have 1Ah batteries). If I bought into a eco system IE 5Ah batteries (these required for using grinders saws etc) it would be makita purely for range of product available.
  23. The thing is there usually something else going on that causes this. Our social worker runs a workshop that encourages shared time. It's not always best but most of time kids adapt.
  24. So not to defend the Ryobi brand or anything like justifying the piece of crap they sell, but my brother in law and my friend has Ryobi cordless 18v li-on versions, think one is slightly newer model. They work perfect for part time person hanging pictures and other small jobs. Both has lasted well even after some bigger jobs once in a blue moon. I have De-walt 18v cordless hammer I bought at slightly more than ryobi (think at that time R1200), no its not brushless super model one, it's got 1AH packs and is just a standard cordless drill with hammer and torque. The two don't compare, I have used this drill to do many major extended use projects (charging packs as i go i got 3 so i rotate them) no issues. I think the clutch might be slipping now but once covid ends im sure ill find a brushless 18v without batteries cheapish. also one feature that's absolutely epic is the one handed chuck. Something to note the Ryobi Brand is aimed at the once in a while user, same as bosch green. I have a bosch green drill still works no hammer but nicad batt's don't hold charge so i can only use it right after charging. and then after typing all of this I realised both the grinders in garage ryobi, one is probly 15years old, gaurds lost, cable needs fixing and new bearings. Other someone threw out as it wouldn't work replaced popped cap and bam new grinder it works no faults and both havn't even given a hick-up. BUT these are corded tools.
