  1. You don't perhaps have double bed plans for this type of thing?
  2. COD Warzone is a #@*$&@%@*^, It's a 80gb download with a weekly 14GB update.... This is not acceptable for me I dont have the data for that (normally id go copy it at friend). Also its 3 player only no duo's making it a weird number of players for my group as we always too many or too few.
  3. Personally right now I would buy a Ender 5 if I could stretch the budget a bit (they around 6k). Ender3 is a good starting point. Out the box you can get decent prints with stock parts. Check the XT90 connectors and the Power supply fan voltage. Also rewire the fan for mainboard directly to 24v for always on. Get glass plate and glue stick once you manage to damage original print surface(its gonna happen don't worry not best surface anyways). After that you can either upgrade parts like me or just run it. I do agree parts are nowhere near that of the HP stuff. Running costs depend Hotend thermistor and cartridge cost me R100. Nozzles around R40 each. Glass bed was R50 Glue stick R10? didn't check tbh. Filament is anywhere from R260 a roll up depending what your buying. Ender 3 does pla well for ABS your gonna need enclosure. I have Petg havnt used it yet but will try it at some point (always use glue stick with PETG it sticks to bare glass and wont release). A roll of filament can go a long way but often you find yourself going ooooo nice colour that will look so good for that part in that spot, or kids will love it but in pink....... Somewhat like cycling, the filament can get costly. Personally I imported my printer more than year ago, worked out to R3800 landed with duties. You will be hard pressed to get that pricing anytime soon again due to shipping issues. Watch youtube videos setting about setting it up it will make life lot easier. I enjoy it because its a creative engineering outlet I don't get elsewhere. I also like fiddling and it allows me to prototype projects myself in parts quickly before final prints. one eg I tried to make a mount for BFPtouch on the Petsfang cooler, did about 8 versions before I got one that worked. In my experience shipping would be a killer for something like that.
  4. So this thread is old (very old) but im doing a lot of 3d printing for myself and customizing etc, there has been some talking about it in other threads but figure better have something dedicated. What am I running, Creality Ender3 Modifications: SKR1.3 Mainboard with TMC2209 Drivers and one DRV for extruder. Alu Extruder replacement. Cheap Glass bed Bed Handle (ABS 110bed this helps) Cable chain guides currently being installed as part of preparation for the Enclosure im building. Hero Me cooling mount customized for a better fit between parts. BFPtouch bed leveling using optical endstop and Servo to stow probe (0.0077 accuracy). Blower fan. Cork insulation under bed to maintain temp easier (this works way to well takes forever to cool down). Quick Clip interfacing at hotend and board side to assist with easier fault finding and repair/replacement. Future upgrades planned: Belt Tentioners (metal custom made as i have access to machining tools at work) Enclosure for better prints will be using left over Isoboard I have from the Bathroom renovation stuffs insulating and fire resistant (used some to make a tool holder it melts but doesn't catch fire and doesn't drip). Volcano hotend upgrade (maybe not sure if this really needed atm) Replacement hotend carriage from Alu or steel that alows for quick tool change to laser or cutter (this is very long term and still on fence about it). I am also attempting to upgrade extruder to geared one but had some failed parts and honestly not sure i saw improved prints when I had it running). Ill post some pictures etc of stuff I have made etc later today, I also printed around 20 face shields for doctors at start of lockdown, however the shortage of material and printer maintenance makes me hesitant to start that again as parts and filament are impossible to source atm. I can also not carry the costs of handing these out free like some of the organised groups are doing.
  5. Im doing Overwatch, and World of warcraft free server (its to join friends mostly) Also doing boardgames via Tabletop Simulator with my usual friends as a social experience
  6. Thats the plan yes! I love the storage under bed idea and want to do something like that. I have access to alot of pine but its unfinished etc lot of finishing work. As for it being creaky well now the bed was made to take apart..... and if incorrectly assembled its gonna creak, to get out of room ill take it apart...... since i wont be putting it together again I smile imagining the swearing and wtf's. as its a careful fit with hidden pockets.
  7. This old tony is epic. Another channel I like but that isn't as busy is Fireball Tools, this guy makes some amazing stuff (not hobbist centred at all) I stopped watching woodworking as it gave me the itch to do things I could maybe pull off but would be prevented due to divorce. Ill get back into that soon as ill need to build a new bed base as ex will likely get the bed I built last time.
  8. I have done this Unless your collection is massive (ALA Tumbles RIP) your rebuild options are usually limited. I have more than average lego as before daughter I bought monthly. Now she gets to play duplo and loving it! I have to take breaks to join her every now and then(she insists and I don't protest too loudly).
  9. Honestly my daughter is taking strain. She is 2 and she is confused, Daddy and Grandpa is home and taking her shopping and mommy leaves. She watches TV and doesn't get to go to daycare and everyone is stressed around her. Really hope this changes as it all normalizes. (Not that this situation is normal)
  10. Good luck! Im rush installing shelves to make myself office at home. And 3d printing faceshields for some doctors.
  11. So wish me luck everyone going into lockdown with ex in same house...... right now my old lawyer really really is spotting for the worst person of the century award.
  12. Pretty sure he was refering to the switch lite. Drawback of the switch lite is no TV output
  13. We played outside more than todays kids regardless and we had TV games way younger.
  14. Switch is where its at for young peeps. I have a PSP floating around thats been hax and has emulators on it. Most of the games we played as kids on there and some of slightly newer stuff like Pokemon etc, once in while ill pop it out and play. Anyone interested in a Gaming pc? I5 gen8, 8GB ddr4, GTX1060, SSD and Storage drive.Ill have to look exact details if there interest it's all around 3 years old. I have a 27inch screen but doesn't have to go with the pc. I got a laptop for gaming as my current situation doesn't allow me to use desktop(space constraints) Selling to offset the cost.
  15. I was super glad mine was armed to the teeth due to ex.
  16. Unfortunately I will not be making the weekends epic outing, I have been in bed last two days don't think it wise to push things just yet. YOU is so very disturbing how easy he gets away with things....... Also how uber niave he is sometimes. Yet to finish second season
  17. I must agree there its a very personal thing to say how long. Due to my situation any comment I make would be very much from a different perspective. Getting out and being social is a good thing! Sorry i never got to have that ride end of the month feb, Mom was in hospital and went to help her out over weekend. Anyone interested in a ride on the weekend of the 14th? I am vastly unfit so it's gonna either be a slow long ride (ill pack snacks) or ill need a shorter bail route
  18. For local do check Ebucks travel, depending on your ebucks level you can save quite a bit and you can spend ebucks on the trip.
  19. My new lawyer managed to organise a round table, and came back with something we can work towards somewhat, then the official in writing offer comes and it's completely different. My lawyer isn't impressed at all and as such doesn't seem like will resolve anytime soon. My class should start tuesday so looking forward to that.
  20. I went Skr1.3 because it was cheap at the time and had a set of drivers laying around. I bought the 2209 ones on special few months after. I was going to upgrade to a ramps or other advanced board but the cost compared was ridiculous. It should also be noted the Silent board was only release after I got the 1.3. I Printed myself a custom probe using a servo and optical endstop. It works particularly well besides one glitch where it retracts when it shouldn't (I suspect it's interference from power lines for the heater still problem something ill address at some point). I would recommend this over BLtouch as it costs <R200 for the parts and works better from reliability test results. Hermera Is nice and if going direct drive that's the only one id buy. Its cost is a bit of a issue. There is a speeddrive conversion thats printable that I have considered if i get PETG to print. I have bullseye installed second one due to PLA cracking, use washers to distribute force(not indicated in instructions). Also considering changing to a Hero Me or blowers on the Bullseye so you can buy 24v sunon maglev 20x40 fans (they arnt available in 10x40 so wont fit some mounts) these are way better than noctua as they maintain same airflow with same inproved sound. I dont have mine installed yet but busy with it. I just got a two trees titan drive as well that's very light bit concerned about the lever arm but I think it will work fine and is supper light with a pancake speed drive might work well. I got it from Next Dimension electronics in somerset west R220. Pancake id have to order. There is a big problem with standard boards, they do not have the onboard memory/Processing to allow use of advanced functions such as UBL, Linear Advanced, S-curve, Junction Deviation, Full LCD Menu (The standard board comes with way way reduced LCD control). It becomes a rabbit hole of upgrades, At some point one wonders if its not easier to just buy a new one with the features but I doubt id get as good as I have now for any reasonable price.
  21. Im up for a ride, super unfit and booked out for month. Weekend of 29th I have open for a ride! Else would have to be week day or ill have to organise someone to watch little one Btech Mechatronics, I work in C&I focus being Industrial Networking but good grasp on rest. 3D printer is Ender 3 with upgraded SKR 1.3 and 2209's with one DRV for the Extruder as there issues with linear advance and the 2209 I had installed. Upgrading to blowers soon that ill run at 50% odd should be pretty quite. Also looking to upgrade the PSU fan to a 120mm and the same for control board. I do print on request from time to time, currently I only have PLA. ABS might be a issue with warping as there is no enclosure. PETG is option but never tried it and I honestly just can't get it cheap enough locally(Somerset shop but he only stocks affordable PLA and rarely has PETG under R450 a roll), anything shipped adds R100 and already prices the stuff out of reasonable. I am up for experiments if you guys have need, I do design in fusion but still getting used program and teaching myself effective workflow (linked measurements references etc). I also have massive interest in the Esp8622 and ESP32 devices but that I have shelved till june as I need to focus on the Btech, that will benefit Fusion drawing more.
  22. Im glad to see things are going well ! I got on the bike last weekend with my daughter(star seat), was epic, so glad to be able to share that with her and my dad. I should get my Btech this year! one subject left! I have made the best of what it is, the divorce is going exactly no where.... Ex refuses to negotiate and as I changed lawyers things only now getting addressed. From what I can discern I'm in for a long year, with my ex getting exactly what she wanted delay. Now if i can get into training properly and losing 20kg odd, the struggle is real! O yes my 3D printer is finally working like it should silently!!
